I knew it was a piece of crap when I was driving through the country side and it kept saying K alert which means there's a radar gun pointed at you but I could literally see miles of wheat fields ahead with no police in sight. When I would actually pass a police car on the highway it was silent which lead to me getting a speeding ticket. I've bought Cheaper radars that did a better job and saved my butt. I only had it for a couple days before I returned it to pay for the ticket which was the reason I purchased it so I wouldn't get a ticket. The App is a lie when it tells you where the police have been spotted because we drove around to see if it was accurate, it was not. I bought it at the costly price because I believed cobras were the best. They suck and I will never buy this brand again.

Posted .Thank you for your feedback. The RAD 480i is one of our top models and offers false alert filtering. Certain things like car sensors, automatic door openers, or even certain farm equipment can trigger falses. Adjusting your detectors sensitivity mode can help reduce the false alerts. Alerts that come through the app are cloud based. You can mark them as false reports via the mobile app. We appreciate you sharing your experience.

To be honest you really need to buy advanced ones that are like $300+ if you want a very consistent one.

I believe that a lot of these were from the newer car collision avoidance systems. I returned and bought a more expensive Cobra Dual Pro 360 which has very few false alerts and updatable firmware and software capabilities. It also has GPS, Bluetooth and other features. These extra features come at an additional $300 cost.

Not sure if radar detector is becoming out dated due to new technologies. Has different readings. Seems to pick up ATM machines and gas stations. Does have different indicator for radar detectors, ka. Seems to work
