The only situation where this radar detector worked was a KA band from highway patrol but the car was only detected from 75-100 ft away. If you’re considering buying this detector just save up a little more for an Escort.

It didn’t work I got pulled offer at random . I was doing 5 over guess who gets to waste his time it’s me skip it.

Just driving down the highway, this thing was going nuts. I had a RAD 450 that hardly false alerted during that same drive. Returned the unit and bought a different manufacturer’s detector

Posted .To reduce false alerts, use medium or low SEN modes. You can change the SEN mode by pressing the SEN button.

Will alert you when you are about 15 feet away. On the display, you can’t tell the difference between x band and K band overall, this was a very disappointing purchase. You get what you pay for but for a toy this was pretty expensive

Posted .Thank you for the review. The RAD 480i has filtering to help reduce false alerts. Kindly try running the detector on a different sensitivity mode. When receiving an alert, the radar band will populate on the left hand side of the display. Should you need assistance, please contact us at 800-543-1608, option 3 on the menu.
