Dual Dash Cam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently purchased and just installed with manual guidelines, fairly easy, installed by myself. The camera is small enough not to interfere with driving distractions and is easy to operate. Has both front and rear dual cameras, we like it.

I just have Geek squad instlled in my car…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Without mentioning that geeksqad called me earlier than my appointment was scheduled I went and guy was really polite! 3 hours later he called me in saying that it’s done. So he said check the back one and I’m glad I did since the rubber thing wasn’t in place so I mentioned him and after struggle his manager asked me to give him some space so he could fix it! 5-10 min later he came out and asked me to check all out but since I don’t know anything about hardwire I signed the paper that I agreed everything looks ok! Now will see if dash cameras work!

Nice dashcam with rearview camera, but some flaws.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I'll say that I will no longer drive without a dashcam. A couple of years ago I bought a cheap $20 online, and while it did work, don't waste your $20. It eventually melted in the summer heat. I decided to give this dashcam a try as it comes with a rear camera as well. Most other manufacturers have rear cameras, but they are an add on and cost extra. In full disclosure, the first one that I got seemed to be defective. It wouldn't connect to my phone with the "Drive Smarter" app. It turned on and would flash "Format memory card" on the screen for a brief moment and then that would disappear and I couldn't do anything else. I contacted customer support, told them about the issues. They had me remove the Bluetooth pairing from my phone, delete and reinstall the app and try again. Nothing worked. It was returned for a replacement. Once I received the replacement, I tested it before I took the time to install it and it worked fine. Installation is straightforward. The camera mounts with tape, not suction cups so I would advise getting the camera running before you install it to ensure that where you place it has a good viewing angle. With the curve of the windshield, you may find out that it is pointing too far in one direction. I would recommend placing the front camera behind the rearview mirror and the rear camera centered at the top of the back windshield. As far as the rear camera, the cord for it is definitely long enough! It connects to the front camera and I tucked the wire into the headliner, ran it back at the top and I had to run the wire back and forth across the rear headliner 3-1/2 times so that I didn't have access hanging down. I drive a Genesis Coupe, so it is a shorter car, but this wire could easily reach the back of a Suburban. The video quality is great. I locked in several recordings at different times of day/night and they all looked great. However, there is a quirk that drives me crazy. I occasionally glance at the screen and I've noticed that when a car is coming towards me, the screen will freeze them for a split second. It's almost like it's stuttering. I checked and this does not show up on the recordings. It's not a dealbreaker, but it is aggravating. It has a mode that will let you know if you are getting too close to the car in front of you, or if someone is too close in the rear. It makes a noise and shows a symbol on the screen. I found this annoying as it kept going off as I was slowing down for a red light so I turned it off. It has the option to time/date stamp the video as well as put the GPS coordinates and your speed if you want. You can turn these on/off individually. It also has parking mode, which will save a recording if your vehicle is hit while parked. Another issue that I noticed is that it sometimes wants to go into parking mode, even when you're driving. I haven't figured out what is causing this. I drive 38 miles to work and it is dark in the mornings with not much traffic. It's a long drive on one highway. I set the cruise control to 75 mph and I assume that since the camera is just seeing my headlights and what appears (to it) to be the same patch of asphalt on the screen that the car is parked. It pops up a message saying it is going into parking mode with a countdown. You can stop it by hitting a button. I also noticed that as soon as I came upon a car it canceled going into parking mode. As far as the app, Drive Smarter, I haven't gotten any use out of it, so I can't really say too much about it. My phone initially connected to the camera and then without moving the app said that the camera was out of range. I removed the Bluetooth pairing and paired it again, deleted and reinstalled the app and nothing seems to work, so honestly, I just gave up and deleted the app. It would be nice to see the video immediately if you needed to, versus having to get home, remove the SD card and download it. One last thing is that the original (defective) one that I got had two spare adhesive pads so that you could move the cameras to a different vehicle, the replacement dashcam only had one spare adhesive pad. Overall, while it is nice to have both front and rear cameras at this price point, there are several flaws. Because of this, I gave it three stars. It's just average. It might fit your needs and you may not have any of these issues, but I believe there are better options out there.

This dash cam is all you need!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have two of these now in both of our cars. They work flawlessly! It’s a set-it-and-forget-it device that turns on and automatically starts recording when you turn your car on. Both front and rear. Pop a 128gb card in there and you’ll have at least a month worth of video to go back to if need be (if you’re an average driver). The quality is great and the camera is virtually problem-free (at leat that’s our experience)!

WORST DASH CAM RVER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Complete waste of my money. Out of the package glitches out and will not stay on properly. The recording won’t properly stay on for more that 10 seconds before turning off and back on over and over again. There is not customer support from cobra. Their email is deactivated, their phones never answer. The app is utter garbage and fails to connect almost everytime. And the worst part you can’t access the settings to change anything because the screen won’t stay on long enough or function properly when hitting the settings button anyways, and if you use the app it has to be connected to the cam for it to work and well when the cam won’t stay on it doesn’t work either. Do not waste youre time with this product and please spend your money elsewhere. I can’t believe I wasted hours trying to figure out the issue with not support, chat, email, or working phone number for help. Save yourself the time, hassle, and money and don’t buy this terrible terrible product.

Not worth the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this cobra dashcam w/ rear camera and installed it in my wife's 2017 Toyota. Worked great for all of 5 weeks before the problems started. Constant system crashes with the unit, would constantly corrupt the SD card, the wireless connection between the dash cam and phone was unreliable. And the app to use the camera was ridiculously difficult to use. Cobra makes some good equipment, such as CB radios and radar detectors but for dash cams they suck. Save your money and buy a Garmin.

Checked all the boxes!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've been using it for just about a week and it was everything we were looking for. The rear cam adds a different feature that we didn't have before. The quality of the video is top notch and the voice control is super convenient. Highly recommend.

Simple to use and full of features!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Aside from the front and rearview camera, this kit comes with a 16GB MicroSD card, and adhesive mount with a GPS unit that attaches to the camera via a strong magnet, a charger, and a Micro USB Data Cable. Unlike many units with a separate rear camera, this unit is designed to install inside the vehicle instead of outside so the install is extremely easy. There's an IOS/Google "Drive Smarter" app that allows the camera to connect to your phone and adds a lot of features and it can integrate with the iRadar App to get road hazard alerts similar to a high-end radar detector. The install can be as simple as mounting the unit, plugging it in and that's it but additional settings are available via the camera directly or the app. The front camera records in 1600P QHD, 1080P Full HD, and 720HD at 30 or 60 fps. and the recording loop can be set for 1, 2, or 3 minutes with the option to make an emergency recording or save a favorite loop. The unit has a microphone that can be used for voice controls or to record sounds when in use. An option is available to take a snapshot via voice command or a button. There's also a built-in impact and motion sensor that will turn the camera on and record if it detects outside movement when parked or an impact. There's an option to calibrate the unit so it "knows" where it's at in relation to the road, and once this is done you can turn on a forward collision warning or an alert if you drift out of your lane and speed alerts are available via the built-in GPS. The camera can function as a wifi hotspot to live stream images from the camera to the phone app, and you can download videos from the camera to your phone.

Avoid this dash cam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the best dash camera I need up switching to a thinkware one because this camera would randomly turn off and on without warning so it would only record 5 secs than boom it would turn off I had it installed professionally so I know it was install fault.

Overpriced Dummy Cam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dash cam could be better. The quality of the video is nice, but that’s about it. 1. It freezes 2.the WiFi connectivity is just between your phone and the camera and that’s about arms length 3. It stops recording during the times you need it the most. 4. I’m scared of even thinking about the hassle it will be to get footage off the camera as it appears to be too much work. 5. You need a hard wire kit if you want to record while your car is parked(they don’t mention that anywhere in the packaging or website) I liked the aesthetics of the camera and the video quality. However, I’m paying for reliability and functionality, which this product lack.

Gets the Job Done. Incredible Features!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dash cam is incredible for the price! I've very happy that I made the decision to purchase the Cobra - SC 200D Dual-View Smart Dash Cam with Rear-View Accessory Camera. I have had bad luck with other cars nicking me and not leaving notes, so that led to this purchase. The dash cam has features that you pay extra for in cars! The Lane Departure Warning System, Forward Collision Warning, and Speed Alert were extra features for my vehicle that added up to much more than the price of this dash cam and that's just the start of it. The video resolution is amazing, and better than my back up cam that was already in the vehicle. Voice commands make it easy to change the display of the camera. You can go from front view to rear view to even taking a photo with the command of a voice. This works very well with Bluetooth as well. I had Best Buy install this for me to make it easier and prevent me from messing it up, but it looked pretty easy to manually do as well once I saw it. It's going to take a lot to get me off of Cobra products after this home run!

Poor Controls-no memory- ok camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this front'rear auto camera to use in my older car that does not have a backup camera. I would not recommend buying this system if you are trying to setup a rear backup camera similar to a factory-style system. The setup was not too difficult, however the directions are very limited and the online version were not much more help. Out of the box, there is no charge required because there is no battery (when the system is not plugged in it doesn't run) The front camera plugs into the windshield mount which plugs into the aux dc plug (lighter socket). The rear camera plugs into the front camera w/ the long cable supplied (you must run the cable from the back of your car to the front-recommend tucking between seats and under floormats/passenger seat). The front camera can also plug directly into the lighter socket w/o the mount. The controls are all on bottom of the front camera (lens faces forward screen back).. 4 buttons to toggle through menu screens, side/top buttons to turn on/off & emergency mode (to set emergency record i.e. accident). This button setup is not easy to use if you are driving. One good thing is you can have PIP or full screen (options full front, full rear, PIP front/rear PIP rear/front) Here are my issues: cords are obtrusive, needs to be wireless front/back connection front camera automatically starts recording when it turns on camera has no memory when turned off (camera PIP mode etc. every time you turn off you have to reset the camera settings) camera turns off as soon as you remove from mount (I take mine out because I don't want it in the window due to possible theft) could not figure out voice-activation for rear camera. I only wanted the backup camera and I have to fiddle w/ controls to make it work ... while driving. camera goes to sleep when at a red light for too long and needs to be restarted. cameras are mounted inside, so view through windows and rear camera is no where near as clear as a typical rear cam mounted near license plate. Another good feature, includes two sticky mounts for each camera so you can move them if you need to. They are one time use so you can't move the mount or camera from one car to another or change positions back and forth.

Posted .We're sorry that you are having trouble using your camera. We strongly advise against trying to operate your camera with your hands while driving. The SC200D automatically begins recording when you power up and has integrated voice commands so you can keep your hands on the wheel. The voice-controls are detailed in the user manual available on the Cobra and Drive Smarter websites.
Also please understand that a wired rear-camera is a standard industry practice and is preferred by most users. The cord can be routed discreetly throughout the vehicle and ensures your rear-camera will always have power without having to be charged. The camera is intended to record incidents and provide you with evidence, we do not recommend using it as a parking aid.
Please reach out to our technical support department at 800-543-1608 if you'd like more help with using your SC200D.
Thanks!

Poor service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can only give it a mediocre review because I don’t understand the process. When I had it installed the tech didn’t explain anything. He said we shouldn’t have a problem. Well I’m older any definitely having issues so I guess it’s more a customer service review.

No Brainer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was totally stoked to pick this Dash Cam up, quickly installed in my Honda Pilot and went for a ride. The speed alert, red light camera warning and lane departure are great features along with being able to adjust the volume by voice control. Picture resolution is phenomenally clear with a great picture. Working on hiding the wires, may take in to have done professionally. I will let you know more later, stay tuned!
