The picture during the daytime was very good at night. You couldn’t even pick up a license plate mostly due to it being wiped out due to headlights and or street lights. My biggest concern was that after about eight or nine minutes it would keep shutting off and that was with a 256 gig card. I have an iPhone 14 and I could not playback any video at all. I would have to take the card out and stick it in my laptop in order to see any of the videos which makes absolutely no sense.

The camera quality was excellent, and everything worked as expected. But about a week before the warranty expired, problems began. First, the voice control stopped functioning. Shortly after, the side button used to save important clips became unresponsive. Now, the camera won’t boot past the logo screen 99% of the time. I reached out to Cobra before the warranty expired, but was ultimately told that since it’s now out of warranty, there’s nothing they can do—aside from offering to sell me a new one. I’m very disappointed in the long-term reliability of this unit and the level of support I received. I expected better product durability and customer service from a company with a long-standing reputation for reliability.

Just one little draw back

The only thing that could be better is how long the videos stay available. They should stay on there longer than a few hours. Some trips can have your driving more than just a few hours.

Posted .Thanks for the great review! The camera does loop record. Emergency clips will not be written over, but if you wish to save other recordings, you can do that as well. You can also use a larger SD card. The SC 400D will take an SD card up to 256GB. We recommend using a Class 10 or U1 card from a reputable vendor.

Great size on the windshield, and doesn't obstruct the view of the driver while driving. If it can have a suction mount instead of adhesive would be great.

The app for this camera is not comparable with android phones . Had I know I wouldn't have purchased this with installation. Please Cobra fix , update your compatability and make your app work universal on any mobile . phone . Add an update or offer a comparable mobile app to use with is camera. $400 00 price point is not worth it. Its an okay car cam.

The accompanying app and pretentious add-ons take away so much from what this product could be. "Alexa" and the "DriveSmarter" features all come from your phone, which is going to be closer to you than the camera is. "Instantly downloadable and shareable..." not so much. Cobra needs to take a lesson from Nexar on how to handle the video files. Having to download individual 1 or 2 or 3 minutes clips of your trip and then piecing them together is not "instant"; not to mention the phone and camera connecting and disconnecting before, during and after each download. Video quality is stellar. The software side is where this thing suffers and suffers greatly.

Will not stay affixed to front windshield

However, the front camera will not stay affixed to front windshield. Cobra customer service was not very helpful. Every time I would leave the office the front camera would be dangling by the cord. Frustrated, I disconnected it - so it is not a useful dsh cam right now.

I looked at many online and in store, and read online reviews. The Garmin was nice, but only had the front camera(also $$$),but the Cobra ,for the same price, I got both cameras. The video on my phone is very good quality. There are no directions so you might have to call Cobra CS. I recommend it.

Only issue I have is that I can’t get the detect cops feature to work but besides that would highly recommend
