It’s an okay game. If you like anime and a game that is somewhat like Dark Souls with more RPG elements, you may like this.

Disclaimer, I bought the digital version from PSN. I am posting here to inform of my impressions. This game may be called Anime Souls and rightfully so. There are many aspects of the Souls/Bourne genres that blend well into the game. What is Souls/Bourne, well in short, it is an action RPG adventure game where you learn enemy patterns, fight large bosses, enemies respawn when you rest/heal, using a form of currency that is also XP that is derived from killing enemies that may be lost on player death with a limited time/lives to recover lost funds/XP. Pros: Sound: The music is atmospheric and appropriate. You are energized to fight large bosses or feel impending dread during normal grinding. Character Customization: You can create and later edit your character in many ways which also appear in cut scenes. Many hairstyles, accessories, eye types, voices, the combinations are endless to build your avatar. I think I spent nearly 30 minutes building how I want my character to look only to have the option to change her later. Blood gifts/abilities: You start with 3 main classes which can be switched at any time but you also gain others. You are not stuck with predetermined roles as you can master the skills and benefits of each class and blend them. Cons: The fighting: The game is a great action game with hack/slash mechanics. There are moments when your timing is perfect yet you cannot execute an attack. Another problem I had was the backstab attack. You will do more damage as well as have immunity and a unique action sequence, but there are times when the attack will not work when it should or I had 3 in a row when the monster should have died with the first, each subsequent attack doing no damage. This is a great game. There is some fan-service, essentially overly sexualized or exaggerated body sizes and skimpy outfits, but they are not as rampant or degrading as some publications would make them seem. Honestly, Misti from Pokemon is more risque than all the characters I have encountered so far. There could be more to the game, a little more in-depth RPG mechanic or more blood codes (classes), but it is a good entry into a Souls/Bourne-style game that is not as hard. The story so far is decent and has a good premiss but the main character is lacking, not just because there is no voice acting for them but they do not act quite the same as a normal person would. There is a demo, play it if you are on the fence but I highly recommend this game.
