I bought this for my dad for Christmas, and spoke to the technician that was gonna install it. We show up to drop it off and the technician tells us that he needed both keys, which he didn’t inform me the day that I bought it. We live and hour away, so going home and grabbing the key wasn’t an option. All he could say was well, I can’t do it without the key. So had to reschedule out for another 3 weeks. Going back next week with both keys, hopefully for a smooth install.

This does not work on hybird vehicles. After having installed car wouldn't start a few times and need a jump. Told battery was fine. After having vehicle tested found out it was due to remote starter

I purchased the product then the earliest they could schedule the installation was 3 months out. I finally get a phone call from Best Buy 2 days before the installation date and AT THAT TIME they inform me that you have to use a 2nd key fob to install with the remote starter. I did not want to use my spare key fob, and after waiting the 3 months to find this out the product is past the date Best Buy allows for returns.

The remote start work perfect; however, my wind shield wiper switch is not working properly. I cannot go to fast. This is dangerous. I did not know until it rain this week.

I would give it a zero. After installation by Best Buy I have nothing but problems. Had to push starter a number of times with random starts and then I could not turn car off on a regular basis. I also could not unlock doors when car was started remotely. So car was running but couldn’t get in. I drive a Volkswagen. The car is great but the starter was garbage. Had to have it removed.

Have to be nearly in front of the car to get it to start car. Does not work past 100 Ft as advertised. Frustrated

Tried this on my 2018 4Runner and it would not work during cold starts, only after the vehicle was warmed up. During cold starts, it would only ‘turn over’ for a couple seconds and would stop. Not long enough to actually start the vehicle. Took it back and the installer at Best Buy offered to change it out for the Viper unit. Viper unit works great.

The website recommended the wrong wiring for my vehicle, so after waiting over a month for my installation date, I now have to wait longer for them to ship me the correct wiring harness to install my starter. The technician who was to do my installation said this is a common problem and the website needs a complete overhaul. If you're buying this I would recommend calling the installation department and having them look over your order to make sure they sold you the right one.

Installation included in purchase price but you have to wait months to get an appointment. My two sisters had the same experience in two other locations around the country. The point is to have the remote starter during the winter not summer. Very disappointing service. So much for a great gift idea. Having to return the item and buy from a business that has the ability to fulfill their obligation in a timely manner.

My account shows that this item is no longer returnable. That's hard to believe since your store is not able to install this item, and the other 2 items that go with it, until March. If your technicians install it and it doesn't work I had better be able to exchange it, or get my money back. Not my fault that you don't have the people available to install this item in an acceptable time period from date of purchase.

My installation date for this unit is FEB 11 th. I cannot give a rating until after that date. It will be a month after purchase.

The footage is off it doesn't reach 1500 feet more like 200 feet,I wouldn't buy it again or refer it to anyone

Specs state that remote works up to 1000' away. I'm having issues with it working within 100' and issues if I'm not in front of my car. Other times it works when I'm in an elevator. Very inconsistent. Best Buy has not offered any solution except PURCHASING an upgraded remote, from them of course. Not what I expected.

Trash , as soon as u install it you will never be to unlock ur car from ur original key any more , till u use the only one provided by the remote thing , I hate it , and I wished never done it , and pat extra to do better options

Sold falty remote started. Could not have installed in till 1/31 which was their first appt for installation. Now remote start which was a gift to my mother for xmas is locking her out of the car and Antonio at Best Buy say's she can't return it after selling me faulty equipment, and when he installed equipment left exposed wires in my mothers vehicle

i havent had this stater a good 2 months and it went out. Now i got to see if its the stater unit or best buy installation!

Don’t recommend this product. Couldn’t get it installed. They FORGOT to order the harness necessary to install and wanted to make appt. for 3 1/2 mos. later. we chose to return product and found a great place local That has great reputation and same pricing. Will not choose Not Best Buy again.

I am unable to review the product because I can’t get it installed. I bought it for my mom for Xmas, made an appointment at Best Buy in Dedham for installation. We drove all the way there for the installer to tell us he did not have the part and he knew he didn’t have it as of that morning. ( it was now almost 5 pm) We were told to try and find the part online and let them know. Terrible customer service, and we will be returning it.

I got a remote starter on my 2020 Chevy Equinox January 29th 2022 and my truck haven’t been the same since. Every time I start it with the remote and get in to try to drive out my drive it shuts off. I think it’s something they did wrong. I call the geek squad they put me on a list for them to call me back I still haven’t received a call and that was almost two months ago

The review is more about how poor the installer was. The product works fine. I received this product for a Christmas gift. I scheduled my install and when it was time to install the car starter, the Bestbuy employees told me they can’t do the install because it was an employee purchase. I told them I’m not an employee and I got it as a gift. After 30 min of arguing with them. They agree to do the install. Horrible service and I also have total tech through them too.
