The story is thrown at you, which isn't a bad thing because like the game's protagonist, Jessie, you're trying to make sense of everything going on. I personally didn't care for the story and found Jessie to be a rather bland protagonist compared to Remedy's past works. Think of the core level design as Metriodvania, You can go back to past areas you've cleared and such. The level design towards the very end of the game is sloppy because there are enemies spamming projectiles, both in the air and on the ground, towards you and the game doesn't provide sufficient cover to deal with it. The game has a lot to offer. I didn't even delve into combat and weapons mods. If you're a big fan of Remedy and their other recent games, there's a good chance you'll like Control.

I normally do not play shooters but this game seemed different. I’m glad I took the plunge because the story is intriguing and the gameplay is great. Graphics are very good too. What more can you ask for? Right now I am about 5 hours in, and can’t get enough. Try the free demo on the PSN if you have doubts. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

This is an excellent game! You can tell that the developers really cared about creating an amazing experience with an interesting story. The characters are some of the best new characters in years! The game can be difficult at times, especially if you deviate from the main story into side missions which are optional.

Control is an extremely atmospheric game of exploration and third person shooting. It's wonderful how conspiracy theories and urban myths are woven into a great action have that rewards searching every nook and cranny. While I find it can be very creepy, I don't find it to be a scary game. It's definitely mature, though.

This game is pretty difficult for a casual gamer. There isn’t a difficulty setting. Found myself having to restart missions several times after being killed. Control would be really good on a next gen console. I really like games where you can use super powers to pick objects up and throw them.

This game is amazing. Feels like you're playing the X-files. Plays smoothly, doesn't feel like a grind, definitely scary in parts. I did have to look up a couple bosses, but the clues were all there in game on how to beat them. 10/10 would recommend.

A great game overall, however there are some minor flaws here and there. Sometimes the framerate drops here and there are some minor graphical glitches at times, but overall a very solid experience. The story is a little confusing but the gameplay is where it is at in this game.

The game is beautiful ray tracing seems to be the visual technology in video games that will make the most difference if this game is any standard. Doesn’t hold a steady frame rate though that may just be the limitation’s of the PS4/PS4 Pro hardware at this point.

I didn't play much of Remedy's catalog before, but with how out there and intriguing this story was, I became interested in Alan Wake, Quantum Break. Jessie is a good main character, but it feels like The Old House is the true star of the game.

This game is recommended for PS4 Pro and PS5 games only. Great feel (this game can feel surreal in a good way), and the action in this game is something new compared to other games, the way you can interact with the environment.

Great game, but can be frustrating if you go in thinking it’s an action game. The action and combat are great, but this is more like Remedy’s Alan Wake than Gears of War. Don’t go in guns blazing or you will die. A lot.

I personally didn't enjoy quantum break so wasnt sure what to expect but its pretty great. The metroidvania level design is decent, gunplay is amazing and the powers and mods you get add alot of variety. Story is kind of crazy but intriguing.

If you liked Remedy’s previous games, you’re going to love this. Or if you like action games with a deep story and super a supernatural spin. The combat is a lot of fun but can be challenging. Checkpoint system can be annoying.

This is definitely one of the top games of the year so far. Imaginative, beautiful, creative. Gameplay elements are fun and interesting and not just the same old thing. Some boss fights are very tough, so be prepared.

There are some technical flaws in this game, but Remedy is actively working on patching them. That aside, the story and world building in this game are deep. The combat system rewards trying differing strategies.

This games feel like a better version of Quantum Break, but does not have as good of atmosphere as Alan Wake. The game looks good and the powers control well. However, sometimes it feels a little repetitive.

You have some interesting powers and can customise your weapon. The characters have amusing dialogue and the story line keeps exploring. Play just the main plot or do extra missions it's up to you.

I had no idea what this game was about. It looked cool and caught my attention so I bought it. A little scary not for kids. Gets kinda creepy with headphones on and in the dark. Cool concept. But you can get really lost if your not paying attention. It’s trippy and kind of makes you feel nervous and uncomfortable but. But once you start getting the different supernatural abilities Jesse is just freaking awesome!! Telekinesis and levitating. The way you control her in the air works really well and feels like she’s flying. Seriously fun but kinda confusing game. Like I completed it and got to the credits and didn’t realize I was close to the end of the story.
