    The "professional" sent to complete my service did not appear to know what he was doing, reworking it no less than 4 times, then announcing there must be something wrong with the appliance. However, based upon his fumbling, we had no confidence that the product was at fault. Best Buy pretended to offer a remedy at first, but transferred me to an unpleasant employee who refused the remedy offered by the first employee. Then, upon my assistance "escalated" my issue and gave me an escalation number. The promised within 48 hours call never came. I am not impressed. This was very likely my last Best Buy purchase.

    I had an interview with in home consultation, which took over 1.5 hrs only to find out on the installation day, the measurements were incorrect and old down draft could not be left in place as the consultant indicated it could be left in place because the new cooktop would not be wide enough on my tile counter. On the day of installation the Best Buy contracted installer could not install cooktop and downdraft due to inaccurate measurements. I was told I would need to arrange for another installer not contracted with Best Buy to install. I arranged for another installer in which I had to take another day off work. The cooktop and downdraft were installed but now I have to arrange for another contractor to come in and fill in open area where the old downdraft was located. The salesman, “ Roger” in Patchogue was great! He worked it out that I was reimbursed for the cost of an outside installation that was supposed to be free with Best Buy.

    Installer complained about Samuel from Best Buy not properly measuring stove top. He told me that 3/4” gas line Samuel ordered with range would not work efficiently so he offered to install a5/8” gas line for an additional $95, since he said it would work better with the type of range we bought. I come to find out that the $95 gas line is 32.99 at Best Buy, and he took with him the 3/4” line we paid for. Installer also had us go to Lowes to purchase clear silicon to put along counter top since he said there was no room under the counter top to secure range. Silicone work not professionally done.

    We have had this product installation rescheduled 3 times. Friday we went into the store to get some answers and to pick up the Viking conversion kit for NG to LP. Everyone said that there was not such a thing but I know Ed our original salesman ordered one special from Viking.

    I did not appreciate the "strong arm" tactics by the installer to get us to purchase additional parts that were not really needed at an inflated cost. The rating would have been lower except they did a good job on the install.

    BestBuy did not keep the installation appointment not once, but twice. I scheduled the installation a while month in adavnce. The arrival window was from 12pm-6pm. No one showed up and I did not receive a call from BestBuy to let me know that they weren't coming. A whole afternoon wasted. The same thing happened with the 2nd appointment that was scheduled. Very disappointed with this service. I will not purchase appliances from BestBuy in the future. I don't want to go through this headache again. The actual installation went well but I later found out that the 3rd party installers travel from 2 hours away to install. BestBuy should consider someone local. This experience was a nightmare. Don't get me started with the other appliances installations.

    Cooktop insulation should be a snap anyone can do it. I paid for installation and the first installers said my Formica opening was too small and that they could not make it larger so I had to have someone cut my counter top and then the installers came back a second time and those installers said that they would’ve cut the opening that the first installers should have. Then the second installers install the cooktop but did not put the brackets in to hold it in place they threw those away in the box so my husband had to go and buy brackets and install them himself

    They installed the cooktop but every time you turn around they want to charge you. I had supports in the corner of the cabinets. We'll need $30 extra to remove those and install. Really? For taking out a couple of screws? The icing is they will not use the old gas connection. No one tells you this and not sure what I paid for but had to pay extra $40 to have it installed. Not sure why all the extra charges but not happy. Guess I am just too used to Costco install which is white glove top service all the way. Next time I will not be going through best buy as the $150 install ends up being $225 when it's all said and done.

    I purchased a cooktop that arrived with damage. The people making the delivery and the installers were very good. And the cooktop is great. The problem was with the coordination to replace the damaged cooktop and having it delivered and installed. Best Buy at first did not want to have the new one installed even though I had paid for the installation of the original one. It was a nightmare! Days and times were changed many times. I had to keep calling in order to get the right service and wait a long time during each call, which was cut off many times and I had to call again!!!! Extremely stressful! Not satisfied with the service at all.
