Failed to install

The agreed upon date is today July 8th, 2022. The contract agent moved the date without my permission or agreement. We live in Texas and are only here for the weekend. Please refund all cost that were charged in advance for installing kitchen appliances-Hood, dishwasher, refrigerator. I’m very disappointed. We wasted airfare for this.

Installation too expensive

They also charged us another 150.00 on top of the 140.00 I already paid! Pretty expensive installation.

poor installation service from geek squad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Derek came to the house in order to install my cooktop and was not able to because of sizing issues. he then proceeded to make up a story about how there were other cooktops with differently sized interior mechanisms that would fit my counter. He tool my cooktop, and I had to wait a whole week before he checked it back in, then another several days before I could have it sent out. He made that up, there are not differently sized inner workings of a cooktop, in order to fit my counter. He just lied and wasted 10 days of my time, while I had to wait with a broken cooktop.

Terrible

Called store since I had heard nothing. Promised time was 7AM to 11AM. Nothing. Installer arrives at 4PM unannounced. Installer said that the unit (recommended by in home consultant) would fall through the granite cut-out. ?? He didn’t bring the top into the house. Both installer and in-home consultant don’t answer their phone and don’t have voicemail set up on their phones. That was three days ago. No one has contacted me or my wife.

Terrible Service

Upon arrival first thing was to ask us turn on tv for him to listen to a game but we refused. Technician then said missing a tool and went out to buy tool, didn't come back till 10:30pm and said too late to continue with installation and reschedule to next morning. after installation we found out that all 6 burner caps were missing and I have to make a trip to Best Buy store to get the burner caps ordered which take another few weeks for them to ship. And we can't cook for few weeks until burner caps arrived.

Called Geek Squad at 9 because I hadn't heard back. Installer called at 10:30 PM to say he was on his way. He attached cook-top to counter and said I had an electrical issue and needed an electrician to check wiring in my house, which is why cook-top would not come on. Electrician undid and reconnected installer's wiring, not up to code, and made sure positive and negative wires were connected to breaker. Cook-top now works.

They arrived over an hour after the "window" time. They brought my cooktop in and looked at the one I was replacing and started measuring and stated that it wouldn't fit and that they don't do anything else for installation. They never even tried to put it where my previous cooktop was at (same size cooktop). I went to Best Buy and they refunded the money. They also were aware that the people they use are not any good. Then why do you use them???

Simple install only

Never delivered and frustrating experience

The last three times the installation was scheduled I spent the day waiting for the cooktop to be delivered and installed and it was a no show. So frustrating. Ended up going with a local appliance company and cancelled the Best Buy cooktop.

Hidden Cost for house wife.

I also, pay for the Installation charges over $450 for 3Items with TTS (Total Tech. Support) , they said it will discount the installation charges. However, When the Installer came to my house they charge $20.00 for connect the Dish washer and They charge another $120.00 for install the cooktop so, I stop that and return the cooktop...…… I was gonna match the color & Brand with my refrigerator but now my kitchen is ugly

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not only did I have to pay $50 extra at the time of install, but the installers turned off the gas to the house, resulting in the need to call and pay for outside service to start the pilot on the hot water heater. After being bounced around to multiple Best Buy customer service agents, nobody was helpful or bothered by this expense to me. All previous times I chose BB installation were fine, but next time I will not use their install services. It added more than an extra $100 to the cost.

Best Buy uses inept outside contractors

The installers (who are outside contractors) did not know what they were doing and damaged our counter, in addition to several other botched up things. I unfortunately cannot recommend them to anyone. It was stressful & aggravating & I truly believe Best Buy & their outside contractors were just hoping we would give up & go away, but we did not.

They offshore their work to third parties. Then they upcharge you on "additional work" they have to perform. Just another way for them to squeeze whatever they can. One of the comments on here said, "Better have your checkbook ready" He was not lying. Expect an upcharge for something that doesn't even make sense.

No improvements seem to have been been made. Defective manufacturing but continues to be ignored. Not only are costs of returns but costs of returning item along with required supplies and accessories to operate. Fluids, etc, pads, travel. Time, inconvenience.

Poor Service

Plenty of email and telephone reminders they would arrive between 2pm and 5pm on 08/08/22. BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED OR EVEN CALLED on the day of the appointment!! Not the Best Buy I knew. I wasted my whole day waiting.

Bad experience with third-party contractor

They had to cut an extra section underneath the counter for the downdraft section and left a weird hole with extra cuts. The system leaks air into the cabinet down below as well. They also charged $200 extra just to make the adjustment..
