The 3.5mm jack makes itself usable in most compliant devices and give a good range of highs and lows in sound. The 7.1 is only offered with the usb dongle that comes with the device but some things come off with a fake tinny 3-d sound that most sound cards can emulate if not, a little better. *After a year of heavy use the leather muffs appear to not even be sewn together and are falling off the headset. the flexible boom mic has long since stopped working and only produces static and high pitched ringing. the cord has frayed slightly from the 3.5mm jack head, But at least the gold plating has stayed shiny. the volume dial and mute have stayed in surprisingly good condition. Always get the warranty. even with only 5-8 hours use 5 days a week i was hoping to get more than a year out of this for the price.

Good Headphones

Keep an eye on the mic. They are possibly known to overheat and break. Read about it on forums. Doesn't mean it'll happen to you. It's a good thing Corsair has a good RMA process.
