Good but not Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Link Software that you download for the cooler is almost pointless. The only use I could find was to set the color of the RGB Corsair Logo. There are three built-in settings for the device, a "Quiet" mode that is thankfully somewhat quiet, and two other modes that can only be described as "Much Louder" and "Leaf Blower." I can't - for the life of me - understand how they believed anyone would want to listen to those. I would recommend this CPU cooler to a friend but with some caveats. Find quieter fans or forget about the two faster cooling modes ... if you want them, you can probably get by with a just a single speaker for your audio ... you won't be able to hear any fine details in the sound with all the noise that is emanating from your computer.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After trying to get the iCUE software to work properly and detect the cooler. It is now working. If you are on windows 10, you need to run windows update and download the new patch (1809). Corsair updated their iCUE software this month, so without the windows patch (1809), it will not detect the cooler no matter what. I took a star off since Corsair did not post it on their website and messageboard. If you set to EXTREME mode, it sounds like a vacuum going in your case.

Does not fit advertised socket
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased his for an intel i7 7700k sitting on a gigabyte aorus z270 mobo which is a 1151 socket. The backplate misses the mark in comical fashion. It's not even close. If you have a similar setup, DONT BUY THIS. It won't fit.
