Very Thin, Full Featured, Mechanical Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There’s a ton to love about Corsair’s latest offering for wireless mechanical keyboards. I think this is one of the thinnest keyboards I have ever used. Even so, the key switches feel great, and it doesn’t impact my ability to type quickly, and, you still get the full Corsair experience with full customization of the keyboard lighting and functionality. The Design - the design is SUPER thing and there’s a lot to love here. The keyboard has a really nice-looking brushed aluminum key base with a textured hard plastic bottom. The two pieces come together to make a very thin but rigid full sized keyboard. The keys are spaced appropriately for me and are very easy to type on. Fingers don’t feel cramped together or forced into position. The Cherry MX Ultra Low Profile switches feel amazing. They’ve got a tactile feel and don’t sound too clicky. They’re stiff but don’t require an unnatural amount of force to actuate. If you’ve used Corsair keyboards before, then many of the button layouts will be familiar with profile switching, brightness control, and a multi function windows lock button as dedicated keys and a LED panel with illuminated indicators that let you know the status of the keyboard. I was also delighted to see 4 dedicated macro keys above the numpad which also serve as a way to switch between connection modes. Finally, media keys take up the top right part of the keyboard. Features – There’s a lot of features packed into this keyboard which you can setup to your liking using the iCue software. Aside from what can be done without iCue (more on that later) you can set up layers and layers of RGB. Also, you can reassign keys to perform different functions, including keystrokes, macros, launch programs, and even integration into Voicemod and Elgato Streamdeck. If there’s a repetitive key combo your constantly hitting, you can assign it to quickly execute with a dedicated G-Key. Also, Corsair iCue is also one of the most widely used plugin for RGB lighting and very compatible with 3rd party lighting effects. As far as features outside of iCue software, I sometimes record macros to reduce keyboard input commands within software used at work. If things change, I can go in and re-record those macros on the fly. This makes for quick work navigating through application menus and executing commands. Connectivity – Probably one of the most useful features for me is the ability to pair three Bluetooth devices, plus whatever the slipstream receiver is plugged into. I have a work laptop, gaming laptop, and a personal desktop as well as an iPad. My work laptop and desktop share monitors. It’s nice having one keyboard and one mouse to share between the two when I want to switch from work to play. Although not used this way as often, This keyboard is thin and light enough to throw into my backpack so I have a full size keyboard when I want to get some work done (I’ve grown to using a numpad fairly heavily). Switching between the dongle and Bluetooth takes less than a couple seconds. If you frequently switch between machines this will be a luxury. Performance – Most people don’t consider too much about performance when talking about keyboards but a lot goes into low latency and response time as well as all the lighting layers and hardware profiles. Using what Corsair calls their Hyper Processing Technology, Axon, it can deliver polling rates up to 8,000 when wired and 2,000 using slipstream technology. I’m not sensitive enough to small delays in keyboards to personally tell a difference, but what I can tell you, I can’t the difference when it’s wired or wireless. Knowing that I’m not going to notice lag when gaming helps keep a clean aesthetic on my desktop by forgoing the wires, only needing them for a charge. Gaming – Gaming performance is just like using a wired keyboard. As mentioned above, I can’t tell the difference with it plugged in or wireless. The difference is you don’t have the cords in your way so you can position the keyboard wherever you need to. Inputs are smooth and because it’s a full size keyboard, there’s no concerns with hitting the wrong key because keys are too close. WSAD keys are fully customizable so you can quickly see them and get your hand positioned and because each key is individually mappable, if you wanted to color code your buttons, you can do that too. The key switches feel good when gaming and are very responsive. Other thoughts – I like how the keys at top are flush with the keyboard. It just helps add to the aesthetics. USB C charging is nice to see and should be standard on ALL electronics at this point. Dedicated on/off switch so you don’t accidently smash keys in transport. A nice little pocket for your dongle is cut out at the top, and again, should be the gold standard if your device comes with a dongle. The only thing that is concerning about this design, is I worry that, because it IS so incredibly thin, is it more prone to damage? For example, if I throw it in my backpack, and lean back against it, is it going to bend or warp? It feels very sturdy in the hands, but I know aluminum isn’t known for it’s hardness. Time will tell. Finally, I like how much you can do on the keyboard without the need for iCue, right out of the box. Preset color options using FN+1-0, keyboard macros, device connectivity, checking battery levels are all available before you ever install iCue. After iCue is installed, you can power up what you can do when your without the software with hardware profiles. Final Thoughts – If you need a highly customizable, full sized, full featured keyboard, that is wireless, ultra low latency, mechanical, onboard macro recording, with connections to multiple devices that can switch seamlessly, I’m not sure what other boxes you would want to check. I love this keyboard and look forward to daily driving it. It may even end up being the keyboard I just use for everything.

A high-quality Gaming Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Corsair K100 Air Wireless Gaming Keyboard is a high-quality gaming keyboard that could give serious gamers an edge in their gaming. This keyboard is a high-quality, RGB mechanical wireless keyboard that is intended for high-performance gaming. The keyboard has serious features – such as an ability to connect via a highspeed wireless connection technology called SLIPSTREAM, and ultra-low profile Cherry MX mechanical switches for the keys. These keys help to enable a 17mm profile deign of the keyboard. Key Features include multi-device connectivity that allow the keyboard to connect via Slipstream high-speed wireless, 3 Bluetooth devices, and or USB Wired, an estimated run time of up to 50 hours per charge which can be extended with adaptive brightness features, AXON Hyper-processing technology to run complex onboard profiles and lighting effects, four (4) programmable G keys for custom shortcuts, macros, application launching, and more. The keyboard functions with PC, Mac, Mobile (iOS and Android via Bluetooth), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4 and 5. On the PC the device can be configured and controlled via Corsair’s iCUE software and for Bluetooth connectivity the device must be Bluetooth 4.0p or higher and support standard keyboard HID input. The keyboard is rounded out with Media controls that include a volume roller as well as onboard lighting. An final interesting feature is the on a PC or Mac with the iCUE software running the keyboard runs is a software mode and for other systems without the ICUE software it runs in hardware mode with profiles and setting saved in the 8MB of onboard storage. Usage Impressions: The K100 Air Wireless is a high-quality keyboard that is oriented at avid and professional gamers. The keyboard works great for other uses as well. I have especially liked the feel of the keys and the audio controls. I have also found the keyboard back lighting option to be a fun addition to the keyboard allowing you to set the mood of one’s gaming or work sessions. I like the capabilities of the keyboard and the unit’s battery life is excellent, but this is not a keyboard that one would normally think of for every day. The connectivity options provide a whole host of options for each usage scenario. I have noticed that there is an initial lag with the keyboard/system must wake up and the first key press may be missed. Overall, this is a high-quality gaming keyboard. The investment required to have it will be one that only you can decide if it is right for you. Pros: Build quality, Connectivity options, audio controls, and lighting Cons: Initial Lag when it first starts up

Cadillac of keyboards
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit apprehensive moving to this keyboard, and was unsure if the hype was to be believed. But oh my is this good. It took me maybe an hour to get used to the layout and the key travel, and once I did, typing felt effortless. And now when I use any other keyboard it just feels inferior. Before using it, the low key travel was the one I was most worried about, but you don't even remember it once you get the hang of it, and the keys feel super precise, and no matter if you hit the middle, the corner or the edge, your key stroke is always registered accurately. A few items I wish it had - a bit more of an incline (at least an option of one), and a palm rest - I have a desk pad and so its not as bad, but my wrists could do with some more cushion. And I find it's pretty annoying, that somehow it does not auto reconnect, when my system wakes up from hibernation. This is while connected with the USB dongle, and I have to replug the dongle. The included software iCue seems to still be in its early stages of developments, are there are some kinks. But you have to use it to set custom color profiles. You can also cycle through the preset color profiles right from the keyboard as well, and I stuck to it. Overall - The keyboard looks pretty and sleek and high-end. Its absolutely terrific to type on and is precise. And for these reasons its a definite recommendation.

Great Looking. Great Performance.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing the Corsair K100 Air Wireless RGB Ultra-Thin mechanical gaming keyboard reveals the keyboard, some manuals, a usb a to usb c cable, and the 2.5 ghz wireless usb dongle. The dongle is found inserted into a storage slot on the rear edge of the keyboard. I was somewhat disappointed to see that extra key caps were not included. I’ve had other Corsair gaming keyboards and inevitably keycaps break. I sure hope these key caps are resilient to many long hours of intense gaming. Time will tell but feel backup keycaps should be in the box. Also missing is a wrist wrest. Perhaps the wrist wrest isn’t available because this keyboard is so thin measuring only 17mm at its thickest point and 11mm at its thinnest. This keyboard looks like no other gaming keyboard that I’ve ever used. It is super thin and sleek with what appears to be a dark brushed metal exterior. The key caps are low profile and look like those found on laptops so all in all the K100 Air is a stunner. The K100 uses Cherry MX ultra low-profile mechanical switches which have just 1.8mm of travel. These switches also actuate at 0.8mm. I love that there are multimedia controls on the K100 Air. The volume roller is quite nice for easy volume adjustments while in game. There are also 4 macro keys on the K100 Air. There are 3 ways to connect the K100 Air to your pc including hyper fast slipstream wireless via the included dongle, Bluetooth, or usb cable. You can also switch connections effortlessly using a button on the keyboard to 3 different devices. While it’s nice to have the wireless options, I intend to use it via usb which would provide the best responsiveness. Plus when using as a wired keyboard you can use an 8,000 hz hyper-polling mode with a .125ms response. That is sweet! I already own a Corsair keyboard so their iCUE app was already installed. Make sure to get the latest version and then update the keyboard firmware. Here you can also setup the RGB effects. There is a multitude of lighting options. If you’re using light effects while on wireless you’ll get about 50 hours of battery time but with effects turned off you’ll get 200 hours. I’m always excited to try new gaming hardware due to the potential gaming edge upgraded hardware can offer so I jumped on one of my favorite games to check out the K100 Air. I’m also somewhat apprehensive about using new hardware because new hardware can feel awkward which of course can negatively impact your gameplay. That was in fact my initial sense about this keyboard. The low profile key caps felt odd compared to my other gaming keyboards. I also noticed that when removing my hands momentarily from the keyboard the low key caps seemed to make it quite difficult to find my hand position again. I concluded this would take some time to get accustomed to. After many hours of playing I adjusted nicely to these differences. As I played I could immediately sense a greatly responsiveness on this keyboard. In game movements and reaction times were much faster and more fluid. This paid off in outmaneuvering my opponents. This is what it’s all about. My old keyboard maxed out at 1,000 hz so the advantages of the K100 Air’s 8,000 hz polling mode in combination with the ultra low profile switches was very noticeable. Milliseconds add up in gaming and I quickly recognized a new advantage over my opponents. Without a doubt this is the best gaming keyboard I had ever used.

The best ultra-thin keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Corsair K100 Air is a dream for keyboard snobs who don’t want to be prying off keys and swapping switches all the time. For those that aren’t aware, there is a sizable market of users that love taking apart keyboards and customizing them to their liking. These keyboards tend to be an expensive endeavor when all is said and done. I say this to help people understand why this keyboard being $280 is not as crazy as you might think. The Corsair K100 Air has the best build quality I’ve ever experienced with a keyboard. Much of the keyboard is built out of brushed aluminum which gives it a super-premium feel and finish. I think the use of aluminum here is a fantastic decision since the Corsair K100 Air is unbelievably thin. In fact, its almost as thin as my smartphone keys included. Aluminum helps keep a nice rigid feel with no flex or uneasy feeling when typing. The keys honestly remind me of a nice laptop key. This could be viewed as a knock, but its not. The Corsair K100 Air is an ultra-thin keyboard. Its impossible to put full size keys in this keyboard. If they did, it wouldn’t be an ultra-thin anymore. Anyone buying this keyboard, is probably buying it for the aesthetics, not really the super gaming/typing performance. This keyboard provides good playability and typeability, but that’s not its core mission. The mission for this keyboard is to look like a 2-D sticker of a keyboard on your desk. In this sense, it accomplishes its mission better than any keyboard on the market. It looks simply incredible. Anyone who has a high-end gaming or workstation that wants a space-age keyboard pulled out of the hands of a time traveler from 2045 will love this keyboard. There are tons of high-end features like a metal scroll wheel on the top right corner. This scroll wheel feels like you own a $280 keyboard. Its precision metal textured, and scrolls as smooth as a steel ball bearing. The entire time I’ve used this keyboard I’ve always felt like its simply built better than anything else I’ve ever used before. Its never felt like a simple plastic keyboard. I think that’s the biggest takeaway for the past few days I’ve used it. It’s a completely superior feeling product. If you can swing the $280 price tag and want to add another great looking piece to your workstation/gaming rig, then the Corsair K100 Air is an absolute must. Especially if you want a thin, metal keyboard.

Thinnest Premium Keyboard Ever
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With a low-profile design, it is the slimmest I’ve ever seen on a gaming keyboard. That alone would have convinced me to buy it, but it is much more than that. There’s no plasticky feel here. It is plain solid, sturdy, brushed aluminum alloy. It looks and feels premium. Using the wireless dongle, latency is a mere one millisecond, which is adequate even for the most demanding games. Many monitors have a much higher latency than that. When using Bluetooth, latency was comparatively much higher and there were some glitches, which I’m mostly blaming my computer Bluetooth since I’ve experienced similar issues with other keyboards. However, it seems that it supports Bluetooth 4 instead of 5. Still, for gaming, Bluetooth should not even be considered. Default backlighting is not overwhelming, which is great. I don’t need my keyboard lighting competing with my computer screen and it doesn’t. It is there to add coolness and provide visual clues when the room is not lit enough. It does that well and you can customize it fully, even per individual keys. Being a gaming keyboard, it gives you a lot of customization with keymapping. I have a lot to experiment yet, but I like what I have seen so far. It is just a big louder than I like, but it’s not bad. Again, Corsair K100 is incredibly thin, but no compromise that I can tell. Battery seems to last forever even with backlighting on. They say it lasts between 50 and 200 hours. The upper range is for no backlighting. In my experience, the battery is still going after about a week, using it for an average of about 4 or 5 hours. The software to customize it is also commendable. With it, you can set the keyboard to PlayStation mode. That was unexpected but very welcome. Of course, you can customize keys, RGB lights, and so on. Definitely recommend.

GREAT gaming keyboard! - configurable to the max!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CORSAIR K100 AIR Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, is CORSAIR’s thinnest, 11mm thick, highest-performance keyboard to date. The sophisticated, brushed aluminum keyboard frame provides great connectivity, 3+2 for multiple devices including Window’s and macOS, the K100 AIR delivers and then some! It is great for games, business and visual arts use due to the color mappable keyboard. The industry standard hyper-responsive CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile mechanical keyswitches provide tactile, and reliable keystrokes without needing the height of a full-size keyswitch. The K100 AIR has three ways to connect to devices: hyper-fast SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS, low-latency Bluetooth® on up to three host devices, or USB wired mode on PC and Mac (two devices). The USB connection enables 8,000Hz hyper-polling for ultra-responsive gaming. One of the best low profile KBs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first mechanical KB was a Corsair and I stuck with them for years and still love them. As options became more abundant I found I love low profile keys. No need for a wrist rest and faster actuation of the keys because of the shorter travel. I bought Corsair's first low profile KB, but that was just a half hearted attempt where they just made the caps shorter and didn't decrease the activation distance. I didn't end up using it much. Now the Corsair K100 Air Wireless makes up for what was wrong in the first go. The KB is thin, very low profile caps that require around 1mm of travel, and the best RBG lighting I've seen in any KB - Corsair always had nice saturated and bright RGB leds. ICue has blown up to a ridiculous size hitting a 1GB download and does pretty much the same thing that previous versions did at 300MB. I really don't enjoy the bloat, but I do like the software. I've always found customizing animations and modifying layers easier in iCue than other KB software. I'm more of a static guy, but do like the ripple effect on keypress. Corsair K100 Air Wireless is a definite keeper. The comfort and software are almost unbeatable.

Fantastic low profile clicky yet quiet keyboard.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've used numerous mechanical keyboards over the years. I've used 2 that were low profile types, a couple that were TKL but the majority have been standard full size keyboards. With both the Low Profiles they took some getting used to. I've very much enjoyed using this in the time I have. With most mechanical keyboards they're generally pretty loud. I've used it a bit for gaming, but I have to admit that I've been using it at my job as I was needing a different keyboard than an ordinary membrane one that we're provided. I was hesitant as we don't use mechanicals because of being on the phones and in close proximity so it's inadvisable for us to use them. With this particular keyboard it's very quiet, which I was really surprised by. My coworkers gave me a seal of approval to use it. It was barely, if at all louder than the cheap membrane one's we get. Even they were impressed and surprised that it was in fact Mechanical. Battery life is fantastic. I've charged it maybe once and it's being used consistently for 8 hours a day. If I recall, the only time I've charged it was when I first got it. I've been using it with the supplied dongle that came with it. I did test it out over Bluetooth on a couple computers and it worked great. I didn't really see much of a difference latency wise versus the Corsair dongle. I imagine I will be using this for years to come. It's easily one of the better keyboards I've used over the years. I know I'd be really interested in a 75% or TKL version of this to use everyday for sure. Price wise, it's on the high side for sure so that may be a big turn off for a lot of people and that's understandable. For what it is though, it's a fantastic option, especially with it being wireless.

Amazing Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great keyboard. I have another wireless gaming keyboard that I really like, but it’s a 10 keyless one. This is just as good but has the 10 key bad which really helps when I use it for work and have to do any sort of light data entry. I also have multiple computers and it can sometimes be a bit inconvenient to have to switch keyboards all the time. By setting up this keyboard with each device using a different connection method, I can quickly switch between devices without having to switch keyboards or taking up the extra space to be able to store them. The buttons all feel responsive and easy to type. The unit itself feel solid and high quality and the slim design is also really nice and makes the whole thing feel more high tech to be able to pack so much into such a small unit. I like the wheel for adjusting sound. I’ve had a similar roller in other keyboards and I like them so much better than the button options that other keyboards use. The glowing and colors are always fun, but not necessarily a must have for me. I’m pretty boring in that way and just set it to something very low key. However, fair warning here, the iCue software controls the lights so if you are using the keyboard on multiple devices like I am, when you switch to the other device and it’s a computer without the software, the color scheme will not necessarily stay. Also any of your programed lights won’t hold (unless its also a preprogramed light pattern) until the iCue software loads up and syncs with the keyboard. Overall, my favorite keyboard so far.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While in the first 3 weeks it was fine and and felt good. it broke. now ive used other gaming keyboards and press the keys i guess you could say "kinda" hard and i guess it was to much for this keyboard and the keycap just fell off and would NOT go back on. im not the only person with this issue so beware it does feel good to play with but i guess you cant play games with it and press it somewhat hard wich ive done with every other keyboard and had no issues for years. but this one just sucks i guess.

Poor value for money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Secondary keys are not backlit, which is a huge omission. Keystrokes require a lot more actuation force than other slim mechanical keyboards. Also, the packaging claims macos support, however none of the keys have macos key engraving, so you're going to have to use keyboard modifiers. Other than slim mechanical keys, there's not a lot going on for this keyboard. At this price point, I expect a lot more.

space bar issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.keyboard looks nice and it doesn't feel cheap, which it isn't, but after using less than 2 weeks I started having problems with the "space bar" sticking down and this is from normal everyday use. I mainly use it for work so having a malfunctioning space bar its very annoying and it makes it almost unusable. Try contacting Corsair by creating a ticket at their help website but I have had no response yet. Don't know if its design issue or I just got a bad keyboard. I will probably return this and get a Logitech if Corsair does address my support ticket.
