Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the RMx Series 850W power supply's ample power, modular design, and quiet operation. Many appreciate the high-quality components and easy installation. While some users reported an audible coil whine, the majority found the unit to run cool and efficiently. The positive feedback on quality and ease of use outweighs the relatively few negative comments.

Great stable qu power, stiff modular cables though

Quality unit with no stability issues using a modern rig with a RTX 3080, and it is 20mm shorter than my last PSU. Fan is off & silent at low to moderate loads, so it doesn't turn on unless I am playing a 3D game. No fan test or enable/disable silent mode switch. The last inch or two of cables like the main CPU cables and PCIE cables are relatively stiff, which can make cable management & routing tougher in some ways, hence only 4 stars for Ease of Use.

Super quite even with RTX 3090

PSU is super quite even with my RTX 3090. Can't even hear it when gaming for hours. Not sure if fan isn't spinning at all as it doesn't need to or it does spin but its super quite not noticeable. Cables that comes with it are a bit stiff. For tight case, it might be a little hard for cable management. Only downside is this PSU is a bit bigger than normal size PSU. Using this in a itx case (NZXT H210) its choking my RTX 3090 so I had to mod case and mount externally which is still super quite.

Went from a 6 year old cougar 1000w to this and the difference is night and day (coming from a psu nearing it's end) my cpu temps went down and I gained performance (but that's because my old psu had issues) the cables look great and everything just works. My only complaint is the pci cables including 8 and 6 pin into one cable. It adds unnecessary cabling and if you really want to get the best performance out of an 8+6 pin graphics card, you should use an 8 and 6 pin cable separately.

This is a high-end power supply. I needed to replace my 8-year old 600W unit that was dropping out and making me crazy. The Corsair has modular cables so you can fit only the ones you need, and it includes at least one spare of everything. Everything went in as expected and fired right up. Haven't had any problems yet and the dropouts are fixed. You can buy a cheaper power supply, but I'm pretty happy that I spent a little extra for this one. I'll be upgrading a mobo soon and having the modular capability will come in handy.

I've been using Corsair products for some time now. My first PC build is an all white build and it has a Corsair case, Corsair ram, Corsair PSU and Corsair keyboard and mouse. They're #1 in PC gaming for a reason, superb quality. I currently have the RMx 750 in white and this RMx 850 in black. I love it. Plenty of headroom for upgrades and thought the 850 may be overkill for my new i9-10850K setup, at least I'll have the power needed for that GPU upgrade, eventually. You cannot beat Corsair.

Has worked well for me. Purchased in conjunction with my lucky score of a 3080. I read some of the reviews about coil wine? or noise inside. It does have that, however it went away after 2 or 3 days of running. My friend bought the same one. He also had the same issue that went away. Makes me think it is a breaking in of the components? Like you break in your shoes? Who knows. It is still running strong as ever after a year, since this is a late review.

    Corsair PSUs Don't Disappoint

I got this PSU with the expectation that I'd eventually have a lightly overclocked system with a 3080. But that was in January when we were all stupidly hopeful that the graphics card market would return to normal in Spring. Luckily Corsair power supplies last for ages and I'll be able to put it to use when I can finally get my hands on a higher-end 30 series card. I've had other Corsair power supplies before and have never been disappointed. This thing is quality.
