Go buy a Seasonic or EVGA

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think Corsair had a bad batch come out, because this blew up my GPU in the middle of the shortage and when I went to return it they were suddenly out of stock. I read a couple of other horror stories, but it seems like if I'm right it was kept pretty quiet. Very, very not recommended. Sparks from an exciting new build are a bummer, and I have always used Corsair for PSUs. Went with a Seasonic this time. It was cheaper and more powerful even, and enjoying it much better. It took me six months for Gigabyte to send me a warranty replacement for that GPU (>.>)

Immediate Shutdown procedure

I troubleshot with the soft boot method and checked BIOS for any warnings. Fan would turn on for a second during boot then immediately shut off at the login point shutting the entire system down. Swapped the old PSU back in and the comp runs the old PSU fine. Was hoping to have a new box but looks like that wont be the case.

Looks good but didn't work...

Unfortunately it blew up within minutes after installing it and getting everything up and running. Best Buy was superb in taking the item back and working with me to pick up a different power supply. However, this is one of those things where you may get your money back, but you do not get your time back or even a discount/coupon from Corsair to use towards another product. There are lots of good reviews about this power supply, but it wasn't meant to be for me on this installation.

Failed After 6 Hours of Use

After building a completely new PC, because I though I killed the motherboard old motherboard and troubleshooting every single component I finally realized it was the power supply. I'm now waiting on corsair to review my warranty claim, hoping that the other 300 reviews without failure are true. Also hoping that my ticket will be expedited because of this review. If i do get a replacement from corsair and that one works I will gladly change this to a 5 star review.

worked for a year and a half, then died

Poor packaging and loose screw

Lasted through windows install

Put in an older power supply and luckily the rest of the components seem to be ok... Tried this one on another computer and it acted the same so I'm sending it back ... I have never had one fail like that and I've built 100s of computers over the years (use to work at a custom PC shop in college)

DOA happens sometimes.

But unfortunately this time I was unlucky enough to get a dud. Only leaving this review as it was requested to do so by bestbuy. Does not reflect the product as a whole because sometimes DOA happens. I have another 850RM (non x) from them and it's flawless. Still would recommend this PSU if you can get it under 140

Both units were DEAD ON ARRIVAL. i will bring this one back for another exchange. Too bad you only have enough employees at the store to make an other exchange, and not repair technicians to check it out to see if there might be a quick fix. Then I wouldn't have to do another exchange.

Failed in 89 Days

I'm in the process of getting it replaced under the "10 year warranty" though corsair, but have yet to get a call back from the service ticket I've submitted. Hopefully I can just get a refund and buy a different brand PSU.

Might get a blown one

Now I can’t get my money back or even an exchange because of their ridiculous return time frame, building a PC takes awhile lately, if these people didn’t notice. Now I’m $150 broker. Thanks

It Exploded

While playing a game, I heard a loud POP sound, like a gunshot, and everything shut off. I took a look at my psu to see that the capacitors are completely blown out. I have a rtx 3080 so this psu may not support the power from this card.
