Improved performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned the CORSAIR - CX-M Series 650W and thought I would give this one a try since I was seeing issues with gaming and other CPU intensive programs. I really started to see more of this a month ago, after getting an HTC Vive. Nothing was stable and kept crashing. So perhaps I didn't have quite enough watts or it was a slowing dying PSU which was also starting to make more noise. My specs are an I7-6700K, 16 GB DDR 4 RAM, GTX 1080, several HD/SSDs and quite a few fans including a Cooling Master for the CPU. Played on my PC for much of the day today with no issues. I'm amazed that fan doesn't even turn on that much and it's very quiet now.

Failed catastrophically
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The supply looks nice, and has well planned cable lengths. Upon first power up though there was a loud pop followed by some light smoke and the smell of burning electronics. Unfortunately this damaged a brand new motherboard and a fresh Ryzen 3700x. I have not been able to get a response from Corsair yet, but this seems typical for this product. The RM750/850 both have a history of high failure rate from the box.
