This scimitar was my first experience into a Corsair and MOBA friendly mouse, the design is solid and with the sliding keys this is friendly to all right handed mouse users. The first thing I noticed was the side light changing colors when hitting the top button, wasn't sure what it was doing until I moved the mouse and the DPI can go up to ridiculous speeds, claims to be pinpoint accurate but it was way to fast for me! Sure those who play competitive on PC will have no issue adapting to it though. The nice thing is you can change the DPI settings for this button in the software and assign to the colors to signify different DPI so you know what the current setting is. The side buttons have a texture to them on every second row from the front to back, so this can help you know where you are on the keys. Using this mouse helped me realize I hold the mouse fairly flat, pretty much palm it, so I have to adjust to more of a claw position to use the keys comfortably. The one thing about these keys is they do not appear to be programmed out of the box, you will need to jump into the software to set their function. It would be nice if there were some defaults configured for popular games that use this style of mouse, or be configure to their numeric equivalent on the keyboard. The mouse is sturdy, and once locked the slider doesn't feel loose at all, I can't knock the mouse on me not being used to the design. I will knock it down one star simply for software, I feel their is a huge learning curve that could be skipped if the software included recommended defaults for games or provided a convenient link to configurations you can load into the software to preconfigure the keys for those who are new to these keys. Mouse has RGB, you can pick how the lights appear solid, breathing, gradient, etc. Nothing crazy, but a little flash to you tabletop. I know some MOBA players who may have some interest in this mouse, I can't say this will make you through out your old and pick this up. But, if you happen to be in the market, the mouse is very comfortable and sturdy, with some bells to catch your attention, the lack of whistles in the form of software makes me hope software update create a more complete package for newbies.

      Hello,

You'd need to map those within iCue first before you're able to use them in-game.

The Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite is an excellent mouse. In the past I have used both the Razer Naga Trinity and the Logitech G600. I had problems with the Razer mouse with the left button not working properly. The Corsair Scimitar mouse has similar button layout as these two mice, but it is better. The buttons on the left side of the mouse are larger and easier to hit. The fact that you can adjust where the panel of buttons are located on the mouse makes it easier to fit the hand size of the user. I have also noticed you can slightly shift the mouse to change your thumbs focus from the top row (1,2,3) to the bottom keys (1 and 4). I have programed these keys to do different functions in audio and video editing programs at work. The mouse is very comfortable in my hand. It glides easily on my mouse pad and the buttons and mouse wheel are very responsive. The button to change the DPI is easy to access and I like the fact that there is a light on the left side that changes color to let you know which setting it is using. I occasionally have someone else use my mouse at work and they never like it that I use a high DPI setting. At this higher speed the mouse works well, easy to control when I use it in a photo program to edit images. The only issue I had with the mouse is the iCUE software used to program the keys on the right side of the mouse. When I tested it with the computer at home the keys worked as soon as I programed them, but at work they did not work until I shut the computer down and restarted it. This was a bit frustrating since it had worked so well on my home computer (both computers are high end with Windows 10 Pro). The software interface for programing the buttons is also a bit confusing and could use with a better layout and instructions. An added feature that is nice is the iCue software monitors devices and controls fans and lighting of other compatible devices in your machine.

At first it seems great with the adjustable thumb buttons. But unless it's adjusted all the way back your thumb drags the entire time. The placement of the thumbs are very out of place compared to MMO mice before it. To macro your thumb buttons is a nightmare to get used to. It doesn't even come preset to have 1-12 to be that 1-12....

This mouse didn't even last a month. I don't know if it is the laser or the cord, but I can't even move the mouse to the right before it starts to lock the cursor in place on it's own. I literally have to FIGHT the mouse to move my character's view in any FPS.

My review of the CORSAIR SCIMITAR RGB ELITE MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse, Black, Backlit RGB LED, 18000 DPI, Optical mouse. I wanted to give this mouse a good two weeks of use before I wrote this review. This is my first Moba/MMO mouse so I wanted to get used to it. I love the look of this mouse with the RGB lighting, the raised function buttons, and the textured edges and keypad are great. Now this is rated 50 million clicks for the Omron switches will have to come later much later, but the braided USB line is badass!!! Now this mouse is programmable with the Corsair ICue program and has 17 programmable keys. There are just a few preset profiles built-in but like I said you can save your own personal profiles if needed. The best part about the numbered keys is that they are adjustable so you can get the perfect fit for all games with large or small hands. I am tempted to get a Razer Naga to compare but after doing a bit of research, the keys are static and I just wanted something that both I and my wife could use. So this product really fits the bill. The pointing accuracy is fantastic with an 18k DPI Optical sensor. I am really pleased with this mouse and yes it does take a bit to get used to but when you do the results are fantastic. I would recommend this to any serious gamer as the price point is up there. At the time of testing the price was $79.99. But for me, it’s a steal. I love this mouse and cant wait to show all my buds my new toy!!!

Unforunately these mice might be getting discontinued because there are constant disconnect problems, which occur even in the middle of use during a game. Razer NAGA is more reliable and likely to last longer even with buttons failing after time.

This is a great mouse. It’s light, and it can change DPI quickly if needed. The 12 key on the side is good. It has minor landmarks to find the correct numbers without looking. I’m going on six months with it, and it’s still holding strong.
