A: I purchased this mouse specifically due to it's 12 keys that can physically tailored to my them, and improve overall ergonomic hand movement., and also because it allows for onboard memory which I use extensively for my WFH laptop. Due to company restrictions, I cannot download ICUE software and must reprogram the keys on my home pc. Which is fine, but as I've said, adding keys is tedious because a) there are no presets: you literally have to make them all from scratch, b) you can easily accidentally reset all your hardwork by misclicking the tiny select icons, and c) it's just not intuitive. I initially had the exact same issue with my Logitech G600's program (Logitech G Hub) HOWEVER they allow me to reinstall the older software: Logitech Gaming Software, which focuses less on ridiculous RGB settings, and more on button mapping efficiency. If there is an older corsair program that was released pre-RGB craze era, I'd like to download that and delete ICUE. I care maybe about the profile's main color so I know which one I'm using. And in all honesty, who the heck just buys a mouse just to stare at it while playing video games? Furthermore, the profile will not work unless I go into task manager, find all variants of ICUE, and end task. Which is a pain in the butt when it's position in system strain causes it to go up and down the task manager list. I know how to use ICUE. I just hate using. Please let me know if there's a more intuitive software for the scimitar, it's a beautiful well-designed mouse, and it deserves better than ICUE.

IMPORTANT: THE RGB LIGHT NEXT TO THE SIDE BUTTONS IS NOT CONTROLLED THROUGH THE LIGHTING EFFECTS IN ICUE, IT IS SET THROUGH THE DPI SETTING IN ICUE. Razer Naga Chroma died after 7 years and was tired of the bloated Razer software so I was looking for another mouse with the side buttons and lighting. I already have Corsair case fans and keyboard so this was a no brainer. Works perfectly with ICue software. The best part is the adjustable side buttons which can be moved back or forward to individual preference. I definitely recommend if you're looking for well built mouse with RGB lighting and/or one with the extra 12 side buttons.

I've owned several corsair peripheral products over the years with varying amounts of satisfaction/dissatisfaction overall they are decent products but my general impression is they do not last as long as they should. (I'm a big fan of their memory products never a problem with those.) I have had at least two scimitar mice in the past, at least one of which I pretty much wore out the main switches after what's not really a lot of use. I don't play fast paced action fighting games, I'm mostly a mmo player with a bit of combat and then other life skill activities. It's the usual issue with worn out switches that start to double click or miss click with annoying frequency. This particular product and the Pro currently have a really bad reputation for problems with the scroll wheel failing (you can even find the program for 3D printing a new mouse wheel part on a number of web pages if you're lucky enough to own one of those). Apparently the plastic used to make the scroll wheel part is failing on the "shaft" and after that the scroll wheel no longer works. I tried to save a bit of money and bought a reconditioned elite from a popular site it arrived with a non functional scroll wheel. Lessoned learned, saving twenty dollars isn't worth it when a new one comes with a two year warranty and I also have the best buy warranty on top of that so no more reconditioned corsair mice for me it just isn't worth it, buy new for your sanity's sake. I like this mouse for all the side buttons and they aren't just useful for games with lots of controls/macros/etc. you can program lots of things onto these buttons and corsair's software works pretty darned well. For the price this is a good mouse, I'm getting old and cheap enough to be very reluctant to spend over 60 dollars for a mouse product and these days that's really a cheap mouse, some are going for as much as a hundred fifty dollars which is just ridiculous. This is a good product for the price just don't expect it to last years and years because like everything these days planned obsolescence is the rule in stuff like this.

In every way possible this is better than the logitech MMO mouse. Better weight, better feel in the hand, adjustable position for the thumb pad, nicer RGB, better/higher dpi, better software (icue is great, ghub is pure trash). Trust me, make the switch to corsair you wont be dissapointed.
