Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the VANGUARD 96 RGB keyboard's robust build quality, reduced noise level, and comfortable typing experience. The compact size and well-designed layout are also appreciated, along with the vibrant RGB lighting. However, some users find the wired-only connectivity and the LCD screen less useful, and have expressed concerns about the software and port placement.

Keyboard feels nice but it's kind of barebones currently with no ICUE support and no Stream Deck support either. They said that these would be implemented at a later date but it feels like something you'd think they would want to have ready before the launch of a product. Would definitely steer clear of this one until it's updated to have it's promised features.

Corsair Vanguard 96 Keyboard is honestly one of the most feature-packed keyboards I’ve seen in a while. Even before opening the box, it’s clear this isn’t your average setup. The 96 percent layout is really smart because it gives you the numpad, arrow keys, and function row without taking up as much space as a full-size board. One of the biggest things that stands out is the magnetic Hall Effect switches. You can adjust how far you need to press each key before it activates, and even set it up so one key can do two different things depending on how hard you press. That kind of control is great for gaming or if you just like customizing every detail. It also has a built-in LCD screen and a rotary dial that can show system info, display images, or give you quick access to settings. On top of that, there are six programmable buttons on the side and Stream Deck integration, so you can set up shortcuts for games, apps, or streaming without needing extra gear. The response speed is super fast thanks to the 8,000 Hz polling rate, so there’s basically no delay when you press a key. People also talk a lot about the build quality, which sounds solid. It’s designed to reduce that annoying pinging noise, uses quality keycaps, and even comes with a wrist rest for comfort during long sessions. There are a few things to keep in mind though. This keyboard doesn’t have wireless or Bluetooth, so you’re stuck with the cable. The amount of customization can feel a bit overwhelming at first if you’re not used to it, and the price is higher than most standard keyboards. It’s also a little heavier, but that seems to go hand in hand with the premium build. Overall, it seems like a really powerful, fast, and well-built keyboard that’s made for people who want more control and performance than the average board offers.

Good Hardware crippled by bad software

Newest 96% offering by Corsair has its ups and downs. This is a wired keyboard first off so no wireless option here. 6 macro keys along the side which are kind of awkwardly placed but no real option to get the 96% size. The small LCD screen in the upper right corner is really novelty than functionality at least in my setup. Unless you are hovering right over top you can't really see much of it, I tend to lean back more. I was able to load a custom GIF no issue though, so it's still got a cool factor. Keys feel really nice a tad clicky but I would call them mid tier on switches. I like the feel of the keyboard myself. The wrist palm rest is a nice touch but it does seem to hold onto sweat and dust bits easily. Now onto the software and my gripe. This keyboard DOES NOT use iCUE at all, instead they have switched to a web based configuration tool similar to what Keychron does. I'm not even mad about this part, fine no problem. Here's the real issue I also have a SCUF Envision controller by Corsair that DOES use iCUE. The web tool 100% will not allow you to use if you have iCUE open. So now I have to use two separate configuration tools for the same family of products and HAVE to close iCUE to use the other one. Totally unacceptable in my opinion and worth a one star dock on my rating. Corsair needs to do better job of incorporating their family of products into one software eco system and not frustrating users rather than heightening their experience. I will continue to use both products because they are top quality hardware but the software needs improvement. Overall the keyboard is a nice fit for me, I dig the 96%, RGB, screen, the whole package. Be aware of the software problems and you'll get along fine here.

the product itself is excellent, love the build. however there is a matter of false advertising going on. the box clearly shows that icue is supported but after buying the keyboard and doing some googling, it is in development and has been for a while. to be clear icue is not supported at this time but the box says it is.
