I bought one pair that eventually stopped Responding and would not wirelessly reconnect to my PC. Then I replaced it with a second Headset same one from Corsair and then one of the Speakers blew out and died on me just two days after Purchasing! and yes I have Corsair ICUE and both were updated to the current version.

Worst headphones I’ve ever used. Audio cracks when using via Bluetooth, constant noise and “battery charged” alerts when playing plugged in. I’ve had better audio from significantly less expensive headsets. 0/10 would not recommend.

Headset was great while it lasted, but the headset broke with in the first year. The Right eat Piece broke off from the actual headset. You would think headsets that cost 225 would actually last longer than this.

This headset is garbage. It sounds terrible ans has zero features. It’s not anywhere near worth the money I paid for it. Buyer beware, if you’re looking for a high end headset look elsewhere. It does not have the ability to “blend” chat and game sound, which was a dealbreaker for me.

Amazing Headphones, After you Update Them

I've tested quite a few sets of wireless gaming headsets and these corsair virtuoso wireless gaming headphones are one of the best! However, there are some technical issues that Corsair needs to work on. If you can get past the issues you will have a great set of headphones. In the box was the headphones, microphone, slipstream dongle, audio cable, USB A to USB C cable and a really nice quilted carry case. When you look at the headphones you immediately can tell that they are quality. The metal forks, hinges, ear cups and headband all feel premium. When using the headphones they feel comfortable, the sound is excellent and they get pretty loud. The wireless slipstream dongle and microphone also worked great However, I didn't get these great results right out the box. As I mentioned earlier, there are some technical issues which initially made these headphones a pain. Out of the box the headphones sound flat and are not very loud. This is because the headphones and dongle need a firmware update, which you can only get from the Icue software. This is where I had technical issues. The ICue software was not compatible with all my computers. On one computer it wouldn't work at all. On another computer the audio driver wouldn't work. On the 3rd computer it worked without any issues at all. So I would say your results will vary depending on hardware. Once the headphones and dongle are updated you don't need the software anymore and the headphones will sound great on any computer you use them on. Also, here's a pro tip for anyone who can't make them work at all. In windows, open device manager > click view >  select show hidden devices> expand Audio inputs and output > Delete all the drivers for Corsair. Reboot the machine and install the dongle again.they should work now. With all this being said, I really do love these headphones, and highly recommend them, just make sure you update them.

Good but does not meet my* expectations

Very high quality headphones, the metal body gives it a solid feel. They set a little loose while wearing them but that varies between different head sizes. The padding is decent but I started to feel discomfort after 40-60 minutes after wearing them. The mic quality was supposedly better sounding than my previous headset (wired razor kraken for reference), the bass is clearer and deeper and overall better, however there was an echo for the other person on the Xbox live party. Speaking of Xbox, the wireless function is not compatible with any Xbox consoles, which was a little disappointing. It does still work with the auxiliary cable provided but there is no rgb function and it kinda defeats the purpose of the headset being wireless. The mute button also does not work while the auxiliary cable is plugged in and that was inconvenient and the only way to mute was to unplug the mic altogether. I have not tested the headset's wireless function on PC so I cannot justify it's wireless quality. Pros: very solid feel, sounds good, clear mic, and of course rgb lol Cons: doesn't work for Xbox, uncomfortable after about an hour, subtly loose on head, potential mic echo

From the only company I trust for my PC's CPU cooler, comes the Corsair Virtuoso. If you enjoyed their line of HS headsets, these feel like a premium version of them. Comfortable, very versatile earcups (able to twist them for easier fitting), and a solid metal design make these feel worth the money. Surprisingly light for the materials used, too. Microphone is surprisingly good quality as well. Of course, most headset mics will never surpass a standalone one, these make a good effort. They sound clear, with decent background noise filtering. These special edition models also come with a nice carrying bag with metal magnetic clip, enhanced mic, and metal earcup casings. (standard model are a grosser looking glossy finish) My ONLY nitpick is that the earcups themselves could be a big larger, but they do still fit comfortably. (and I have an admittedly big head.)

Front loading the review, these have turned out to be pretty good headphones for me. I stream on Twitch so the look of the headphones is actually important and these are some sexy looking headphones. Audio quality is very good but I'm not an audiophile or anything so I can't judge it on every minutia but I thought they sounded great. Setup is easy as is the case with almost any headset these days. You have a multitude of options here, though. You can use the dongle and flip the switch to wireless mode which almost instantly connects. You can plug the USB-C cable into your headset to run it wired (this is also how you charge it), or you can use a 3.5mm headphone cable that's included for a passive experience. You'll need to plug the USB-C cable in at least once to update the firmware but the iCUE software is some of the better peripheral software I used and it guides you through the process no matter how you're set up when you try and start an update. I have another external microphone so I don't have a lot of use for the one that comes with this headset. Luckily it's detachable! That said, the quality of the microphone is really good for a headset microphone. I am also under the impression that using the wired USB-C mode is supposed to boost the bandwidth and improve the microphone quality a little bit. I didn't notice much of a difference though. I wouldn't forgo the dedicated microphone and preamp to use this headset but if you're in a pinch or are just looking for a comms microphone I don't think you can do much better than this. It also has a very nice flexible feel to it and has status LEDs that are just in the side of your vision so you can see when you're muted. The software gives you an option to disable the LEDs while you're unmuted if you'd rather only notice when you're muted which is a nice touch. Sound quality, overall, is really good. I'm no audiophile so I can't tell you how every smallest subsection of every frequency sounds but I can say that listening to music, or game audio sounds really good in these headphones. I'm not too into the whole 7.1 thing when it comes to headphones so I that's going to have to just be up to you whether that's important. In stereo mode, these sound great. There also isn't any sort of active noise canceling, but the fit of the cups over my ears really knocks out a lot of external noise. This would probably be my only complaint about these headphones since I don't use the included microphone so I can't get the benefit of the sidetone so I can hear myself. I'll probably change my audio setup so I can use these as a monitor directly from my audio interface so I can't monitor my voice that way. If you're using the built in microphone, the sidetone works really well and has a volume you can adjust in the iCUE software so you can set it however you like. These headphones feel pretty nice on my head as well. They aren't overly heavy and after 6-8 hours of use, I don't feel a huge sense of relief when I take them off or anything. The cups are pretty thick and padded well. They don't feel loose on your ears or anything but they also don't feel like they're pressing against your head super hard either. A really nice balance there. I'm usually a fan of being able to hear myself, though, and the fit on these make it really hard to gauge how loud you are without using the sidetone feature. So if this is a concern to you, I'd recommend you use it. Battery life was... fine. Nothing to write home about but nothing super bad either. I found myself charging them again after 15 or so hours of use. Obviously good enough if you're just going to plug them in whenever you're done with this (which is what I usually do so that works for me). The bag for storing these headphone is pretty nice too. It's made of a nice fabric and doesn't feel cheap at all. The magnetic top works great. The headphones slide in and out without much hassle at all. I was pleasantly surprised with it as I don't use the storage bags all that music when it comes to my headphones. Overall, these are going to be my daily drivers for a bit. I'm moving from the Astro A40s to this. The only advantage the A40s have over this headset is the lightweight cups that I can hear myself through. Sound quality, look, feel, everything else is really good in these headphones so if they're in your budget, I'd definitely recommend them.

If you're in a toss up of doing Razer or Corsair for your peripherals, you absolutely need to go Corsair. They are absolutely equal to Razer (if not better) in quality, but the software is BY AND AWAY more intuitive, and also actually WORKS. These headphones are comfortable, the sound is impressive, and they look really stellar. The gunmetal finish is beautiful. The mic detaches which is great for someone like me who doesn't want my mic in my face when I am gaming just on my own. If you have a Corsair full kit or just want a super nice headset, go with this one. Honestly, if you like Corsair these are the headphones you should have.

Very good gaming headphones, not so good sound EQ

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

To start with... I actually do like these headphones. The build quality is terrific. Among the best feeling headsets I've tried in a while. The ear pads don't wear my ears out and are comfortable enough to wear for hours. I've tried headsets from Logitech, Astro and other weird brands. These... Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE headset is the most comfortable to me. The mic is very clear and easy to use. I love the fact the mute button is on the bottom of the mic and I can quickly and easily mute. The fact that the mic is also detachable is an absolute positive feature for storage. The included storage bag sucks though. I took the time to make a leather carry bag for these. The detachable mic makes it easy to slip into the bag and hit the road with my laptop. When I was looking around at headsets, I was looking for one that had quality sound and was wireless. Unfortunately at Best Buy there is no way to test the audio quality. I was able to check the build quality, but not the sound quality. I read reviews for days. It was mixed, which makes it harder to determine what is true or not. I took the chance and frankly, the sound quality is good... to a point. I am an audiophile snob I guess. I would've thought having 50mm neodymium speakers, that the sound would be at least balanced and sound terrific. Well, they barely are balanced, but seem to be quite top heavy. I played around with the iCue software and the EQ settings trying to balance it and try to even give it a little more lower or bass. When you set the EQ to standard Rock, it's still quite top heavy. Emphasizing the lower end a wee bit and it starts distorting badly enough to be annoying. For a higher priced, and Flagship model (at the time), these fall short in sound quality. Many other lower priced brands have better sound balance and lower ends. Even at the time I bought these, beginning of May 2021, these were about the only wireless headsets out there. I really wanted a bluetooth headset but there weren't any. Best Buy had these on sale, which I didn't know until I was checking out, only to find out the following week that Corsair released another Virtuoso headset that offered bluetooth, usb wireless streaming as well as usb-c cable. I was going to take these back and do an exchange, but Best Buy didn't have any of the new model and by the time they got 1 in stock it'd be out of my return/exchange period. I chose to not just return these. The LED RGB lights are pretty cool. I love how the mic tip does light up green/red to signify whether the mic is active or muted. The ear cup lights aren't all that bright or noticeable, but still pretty cool. Would I recommend these? Overall, yes. Would I recommend these to someone I know is looking for terrific sound? No. I'd say keep looking.

GREAT FOR FPS, not enough Bass for anything else

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It's a gaming headset, if you want this for anything else other than aesthetics then don't buy it. I have Sennseisers 670 and I've gone through all the different Corsair Headsets. This is the best for FPS, treble is very distinct, has bass but its not full/deep. Using the EQ - BASS BOOSTED on iCue, provides enough to watch a movie, listen to music but don't expect too much. It would be a 5 star headphones IF and only IF it was comfortable. It feels flat and slanted on your ears. The previous headsets from corsair were much more comfortable - The Void Series and HS## headsets cupped your ears and felt comfortable. The build is very nice, if you seen reviews on youtube they mention the RGB on the sides that collect dust, as soon as i opened them from a brand new box they already had some speck of dust in them, but thats just aesthetics, it wont affect your gameplay or ears. So don't let this keep you from buying these nice headphones. I currently switch from my senns and the corsair virtuosos for different games.
