Many appreciate the long battery life and wireless convenience, although some find the headset heavy and the bass response could be improved. Awful sound quality. I returned it immediately. There is a preset EQ on the headset that sounds terrible. I recommend the Razer Black Shark or Corsair Void over these.

Headband has close to zero padding which leads to severe migraines at best. Low frequency output is significantly worse, even with iCUE software, compared to G933

Front loading the review, these have turned out to be pretty good headphones for me. I stream on Twitch so the look of the headphones is actually important and these are some sexy looking headphones. Audio quality is very good but I'm not an audiophile or anything so I can't judge it on every minutia but I thought they sounded great. Setup is easy as is the case with almost any headset these days. You have a multitude of options here, though. You can use the dongle and flip the switch to wireless mode which almost instantly connects. You can plug the USB-C cable into your headset to run it wired (this is also how you charge it), or you can use a 3.5mm headphone cable that's included for a passive experience. You'll need to plug the USB-C cable in at least once to update the firmware but the iCUE software is some of the better peripheral software I used and it guides you through the process no matter how you're set up when you try and start an update. I have another external microphone so I don't have a lot of use for the one that comes with this headset. Luckily it's detachable! That said, the quality of the microphone is really good for a headset microphone. I am also under the impression that using the wired USB-C mode is supposed to boost the bandwidth and improve the microphone quality a little bit. I didn't notice much of a difference though. I wouldn't forgo the dedicated microphone and preamp to use this headset but if you're in a pinch or are just looking for a comms microphone I don't think you can do much better than this. It also has a very nice flexible feel to it and has status LEDs that are just in the side of your vision so you can see when you're muted. The software gives you an option to disable the LEDs while you're unmuted if you'd rather only notice when you're muted which is a nice touch. Sound quality, overall, is really good. I'm no audiophile so I can't tell you how every smallest subsection of every frequency sounds but I can say that listening to music, or game audio sounds really good in these headphones. I'm not too into the whole 7.1 thing when it comes to headphones so I that's going to have to just be up to you whether that's important. In stereo mode, these sound great. There also isn't any sort of active noise canceling, but the fit of the cups over my ears really knocks out a lot of external noise. This would probably be my only complaint about these headphones since I don't use the included microphone so I can't get the benefit of the sidetone so I can hear myself. I'll probably change my audio setup so I can use these as a monitor directly from my audio interface so I can't monitor my voice that way. If you're using the built in microphone, the sidetone works really well and has a volume you can adjust in the iCUE software so you can set it however you like. These headphones feel pretty nice on my head as well. They aren't overly heavy and after 6-8 hours of use, I don't feel a huge sense of relief when I take them off or anything. The cups are pretty thick and padded well. They don't feel loose on your ears or anything but they also don't feel like they're pressing against your head super hard either. A really nice balance there. I'm usually a fan of being able to hear myself, though, and the fit on these make it really hard to gauge how loud you are without using the sidetone feature. So if this is a concern to you, I'd recommend you use it. Battery life was... fine. Nothing to write home about but nothing super bad either. I found myself charging them again after 15 or so hours of use. Obviously good enough if you're just going to plug them in whenever you're done with this (which is what I usually do so that works for me). The bag for storing these headphone is pretty nice too. It's made of a nice fabric and doesn't feel cheap at all. The magnetic top works great. The headphones slide in and out without much hassle at all. I was pleasantly surprised with it as I don't use the storage bags all that music when it comes to my headphones. Overall, these are going to be my daily drivers for a bit. I'm moving from the Astro A40s to this. The only advantage the A40s have over this headset is the lightweight cups that I can hear myself through. Sound quality, look, feel, everything else is really good in these headphones so if they're in your budget, I'd definitely recommend them.

If you're in a toss up of doing Razer or Corsair for your peripherals, you absolutely need to go Corsair. They are absolutely equal to Razer (if not better) in quality, but the software is BY AND AWAY more intuitive, and also actually WORKS. These headphones are comfortable, the sound is impressive, and they look really stellar. The gunmetal finish is beautiful. The mic detaches which is great for someone like me who doesn't want my mic in my face when I am gaming just on my own. If you have a Corsair full kit or just want a super nice headset, go with this one. Honestly, if you like Corsair these are the headphones you should have.

I have a pair of Playstation brand wireless headphones, and these knock them out of the water. They are great at cancelling outside noise you don't need to hear. The detachable mic is awesome; you can use it or not, and it isn't in the way when not in use. They seem to stay charged for quite a long time. The only con I have is it seems that they turn on pretty easily. For example, I threw them on the other side of my mattress after making sure they were off and they turned on. This might just be an error on my part in turning them off, however. Very nice crisp and clean sound, these phones are great for video gaming as well as just listening to your favorite tunes.

This headset feels made very well the moment you pick it up. It is rather heavy, but fits and wears well. The mic can be connected or disconnected as desired. The mute button is easy to access and the end of the mic lights up green when it is one and red when it is off. The sides have a cool light up emblem. The volume button is easy to get to and is made of metal and feels very durable. Sound quality is very good, however it doesn't support 7.1 dolby. Overall it is an excellent headset to use on a PC or Playstation. I'm using with my Playstation 4 Pro and it paired easily and automatically switches between the headset and my regular speakers when it is turned on or off.

GREAT FOR FPS, not enough Bass for anything else

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It's a gaming headset, if you want this for anything else other than aesthetics then don't buy it. I have Sennseisers 670 and I've gone through all the different Corsair Headsets. This is the best for FPS, treble is very distinct, has bass but its not full/deep. Using the EQ - BASS BOOSTED on iCue, provides enough to watch a movie, listen to music but don't expect too much. It would be a 5 star headphones IF and only IF it was comfortable. It feels flat and slanted on your ears. The previous headsets from corsair were much more comfortable - The Void Series and HS## headsets cupped your ears and felt comfortable. The build is very nice, if you seen reviews on youtube they mention the RGB on the sides that collect dust, as soon as i opened them from a brand new box they already had some speck of dust in them, but thats just aesthetics, it wont affect your gameplay or ears. So don't let this keep you from buying these nice headphones. I currently switch from my senns and the corsair virtuosos for different games.

okay there is a good reason these are almost perfect but not quite there yet mic quality is easily outstanding for the price you are getting a good mic which is totally worth all the money now the sound might not be to intriguing to some people but you get used the sound the sound on these are stereo and everything sounds more natural and raw the thing i love about these is that they can get loud when you used the wireless option which is something that really made me love this headset now when you use the wired option i noticed the mic does work but it echos alot know im not sure why it could be the headset or maybe the detachable mic isnt ment for wired so for the best experience use these wireless also since you get the cool rbg lighting when using wireless. over time this headset gets fairly uncomfortable after hours of gaming now my ears are very small not to big i also wear glasses so thats one main reason why this headset is a 4 and not a 5 they almost made the best headset but they failed with the comfort know im not saying they arnt comfortable they are but only for a couple of hours when you game for longer hours they do start to get uncomfortable so i suggest taking a break and coming back. otherwise then that the custimaztion program is very easy to use youll get used to it and the things you can do with these you can change the way they sound to make them sound better if you dont like the default sound which is a plus for me i give the customization a 5 out of 5 you can do so much so great job corsair. also these charge very fast they give you an aux cable and usb type c charging and they seem very durable so you dont have to worry breaking them thats another 5 out of 5 for the things it comes with they seem very good quality if you forget to charge these and you need to play asap! then you can also use them while charging which is another plus for me ! otherwise then that these are worth the price if you want a good mic quality and sound its better then spending 300$ plus on some overhyped astro's. these are great but im only giving them a 4 star because of how they can get uncomfortable over long hours of gaming now if you dont game for hours then you shouldnt have a problem with these ! i just hope corsair sees this and is able to come out with next gen virtuoso's that are more comfortable especially for people like me that wear glasses. but otherwise then that these are great for the price.

When the box for the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset arrived, I was not expecting much when I opened it. I have Logitech G935, Astro A50, Plantronics Rig500 and more. And this is yet another headset that claims to offer “crystal cleat high‑fidelity audio,” great fit blah, blah. At $180 MSRP and a Black Friday special of $140, I did not think it could hold a candle to my Astro A50’s that are twice the price. Surprisingly, they do. The first thing that I noticed is the build quality and fit and finish – just top notch. Most headsets in this price range or even higher are made of plastic, this is all well machined aluminum. They look way more high end than the price. I tested them out for gaming only. The sound is excellent. I read some other reviews that they lack bass but I really did not find that . Overall, the Virtuoso's 7.1 Surround Sound performance is impressive. I really could not hear much of difference between this headset and my higher end A50’s. The mic has crystal clear sound, well placed, and the mute button is right there. Interestingly, the mic is detachable . I guess that is for upgrades and if you want to use the headset for music only. The Corsair Virtuoso fits my head pretty well but the earcups are not very deep or curved. I say this because people with larger ears might find their ears press up against the earcups. For me personally, they fit very well and were light weight. So what do I not like? Not much except for what all peripheral manufacturers these days seem to obsessed with – LED lights. For any manufacturer out here, read this closely. We do not care about lights on our headsets . Same goes for mice and keyboards. There are some gamers that like the lights for about 2 minutes and then forget about it. Save the cost of the LED’s and put it into the quality of the unit. In conclusion, this headset really gives you the best bang for the buck. You get great quality and good sound in a well thought out design. Save your money that you would spend on the high end gaming headsets and try out the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset.
