Decent headset for $10, but lacking if MSRP

I wanted to love this product because I'm a HUGE fan of Corsair's products & just overall brand. There's just too many issues, however. The headset doesn't lineup well with other headsets in the similar price range. The best option you could get is probably something like the Sennheiser 558s + a mod mic (the 558s can be bought regularly for 80$ and a mod mic is $20 tops). The gaming headset schtick is usually just a marketing ploy. Having said that, the recent sale for Elite Plus + GCU members made this $10~ buy a no-brainer. Sound aside, there's some fundamental flaws with how this headset was designed. Syncing is awkward with Windows 10 once it's turned off and you go to sync it back with your computer. The easiest option is just to plug it back in with the provided USB Type A to micro-USB cable provided to you. Otherwise, you'll have to hold the Power button for about 3 seconds until an audible beep is heard while wearing it, the headset will go into Pairing mode, then you press the Power button again (or perhaps just wait), it pairs, then wait for the Corsair Utility Engine (CUE for short) software acknowledged the headset in Settings > Device > VOID WIRELESS > Firmware Version / Battery Level. It'll show '?' when un-synced, but will give a version number and a percentage number when properly synced. It doesn't work as seamless as what you would expect, and perhaps experienced, with other wireless headsets. On top of that, the power button isn't an ON and OFF button. It never functions as one ( at least with mine ). In fact it's a known problem with these headsets that the Power button doesn't function whatsoever (LOL). Other known problems include, although I haven't experienced them yet, the headset getting stuck in bootloader mode if you press any button while it's being plugged in, and sometimes the CUE software fails to upgrade the firmware on the headset to no avail (I haven't experienced this either). Since I ran into some problems myself, I read up on the headset, because I couldn't resist. The last problem with these is the microphone isn't the best - it sounds sort of like a telephone operator when you use it. The documentation given is not extensive enough, but you can alter the angle of the mic itself. The headset uses materials that keep it's integrity in the mic cord while doing so. This is supposedly helpful in improving the mic recording quality and respective decibel level. At least the muting of environmental sounds while using it is fantastic, but I'm not sure if the cost was worth it. The Sennheiser GSP 300s don't mute the background sounds in your environment (like typing on your mechanical keyboard) but greatly improve the fullness of your voice, sounding very similar to the natural tone, pitch, etc. of your voice in real life. It's a toss up I take it. Luckily I just wanted to use this as a great headset option for gaming and watching videos on my PC without any focus on multiplayer or any voice communication aside from basic Skype/etc. use, which it will suffice for for now. Oh, one last thing, the surround sound in this headset is pretty mediocre compared to other headsets at this price point. I think it may be worse than even the Sony Gold headsets that are grossly overpriced (although that's mostly due to their poor build quality). TLDR version: Corsair has a lot to work on with their headsets. Enthusiasts of the brand should look elsewhere, unless you can find it for the ridiculous price point of $10~ like I did (I would pay maybe max -- $40?).

first they are a little heavy ,if i look down they will fall off ,I dont have a little head . from time to time I hear a little distortion the usb dongle is only 3 feet away from me, The sound is good better than I thought is would be. the cue is easy to work with. i will try a usb exstender to put the dongle in front of me and see how it go's , if the extender works i will keep them if not they will go back

The headphones were loser on my head when I first bought them and I did not like the fit. I used them for a couple of days and i thought they were okay. They had decent sound quality but after 2 days they would not power on or charge whatever I did. So I have these headphones 1 star due to the fact that they did not last 3 days before they broke and had to get rid of them

    Very Comfortable

I had gone through several VoIP designed headsets and all failed on me within 6-9 months and weren't the most comfortable. The Corsair is much more comfortable, ability to hear and speak clearly to the callers is greatly improved. Only complaint I have is the "leather" on the ear cushions between the headset itself and the cloth ear cups "squeak" when you move.

I've been looking for a new headset to replace my G930's. Saw these had just come out and decided to give em a try. They look ok. The construction feels a little cheap for $150. When I went to try them out, they would not turn on. Tried charging them for awhile, seems they are defective. The ear cups sit on my ears and don't cover them, they allowed more external sounds in. Usually this type of fit causes me discomfort after wearing for awhile, but I didn't feel like wearing them since they don't work. I wish I could comment on how they sounded, or how maybe the LED's look cool. But they would need to work for that. The base station extender is a cool idea. The charging cable does not plug in very smoothly and I suspect will be trouble down the road. Very disappointed. I will be returning these in the morning and I'm not giving them a 2nd chance.

    Majorly Uncomfortable

I'm not sure how anyone else believes these to be comfortable, but they certainly are not. Bought this on a big sale to replace my really old Logitech G930 thinking it would be comfortable for long periods but it's really the opposite. It may be because I wear glasses, I'm not sure, but I could only wear it for about 5 minutes before I started getting a headache, which went away around 10 minutes after taking it off. The sound is good, but I didn't even get to test the microphone yet due to how it felt to wear. If you wear glasses, I would not definitely recommend it.

Bought this headset for use with my Xbox one as I read good things about the VOID headset. Well, they do not work with a Xbox right out of the box. You need an adapter that is not supplied, nor do they tell you the type or where to buy the adapter. Corsair customer/technical service is a JOKE!!!!! After much digging around Corsair.com and CorsairGaming.com, you end up having to submit your information and hope they get back to you. You cannot phone a live person nor can you Online chat with one (chat has been offline during my repeated attempts to reach them.) I would not wish the customer/technical service hassle on anyone.

    Buyer beware

I purchase this headset 8/30. It has a major design flaw. If you press the power and mic button (located next to each other) at the same time while the headset is plug in you will activate bootloader mode. On the forum corsair is asking it's customers to Please refrain from pressing any buttons while plugging the headset in as well. The process to undue the bootloader mode is crazy. You will need a safety pin, new software that you have to force load into the systems and a CCNP cert. The best part is its over the 15 day return policy so I'm stuck with it Thanks Best Buy! Don't waste your time or money.

    Garbage for 129.99

Just skip this headset. For the $130 range, this headset is nothing but a headache. Constantly un-synchs from the dongle (plugged directly in or when using the wired extension.) "Hyberation" is flawed -- if you let it sit for any extended period of time (20 mins or so) the headset loses connection, and has to be re-synched ( or the dongle has be to unplugged and plugged back in.) This is especially bothersome in game, since the game normally has to be restarted in order to send audio signal to the dongle after it's been unplugged. If you walk out of range, the headset almost NEVER recovers and reconnects. So don't even think about going to the kitchen for coffee if it's beyond the 40 foot range. I'm a sysadmin, and I RELIGIOUSLY keep all my hardware's firmware and drivers up to date. I've a pair of Logitech H800's which cost 1/2 as much and work 99-100% of the time. Don't get me wrong -- they sound great.... When they work, but for the price I'd expect these to be much more robust and functional. Skip them for the price, go with a set of Logitech's, they might not sound as good, but at least you know they'll work.

I bought this headset earlier today and brought it back to my house and immediately plugged it up. I downloaded all software and firmware. I charged it for 4 hours and to my surprise it did not have any charge on it. Took it back, got another one. Second one exact same problems. If you are lucky enough to get it working I am sure it is a great headset. I had two dysfunctional headsets and will not be trying a third.

Purchased product. Installed product. Configured Windows sound settings. Became annoyed by constant static when any sounds played. Watched firmware update. Tried both versions of CUE. Tried various USB ports. Tried waiting for full charge. Tried to contact any form of live support at Corsair (There isn't any). Tried to find help from Google. Went back to store and exchanged headset for a different brand. New brand works flawlessly right out of the box.

so i went to my local best buy to trade in a phone and possibly get a video game i was looking to buy but after i traded the phone in i realized i needed a headset to play and decided i would look in to these and decided on this pair well looking at the shelf when i grabbed them to purchase them it read as they were 63.99. well once i got to the counter to check out i found out that they were this price. so i guess my point is great headset terrible customer service. they miss marked a product and also had no tag indicating the price for this pair. so i guess what im getting at is dont trust the tag if you purchase this item in stores

I bought these headphones to have another pair of headphones to use while Gaming, I got the Audio Technica M50 studio monitors, Use them on daily basis for making music.. the Corsair is not even near the quality of a $150 pair of headphones, the sound is very Cheap and not loud and crisp , The Design is ok , RGB LED is cheesy. In general you can find better quality sound with cable unless you wanna spend $399 on bose QC30s
