Very Interesting and Educational
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im always curious about the solar system, took a course in college but don't really remember any of it now. I missed the show when it was aired on TV, but on a recent trip, Cosmos was in the entertaining program when I was flying a long-haul flight. I watched two episodes (which was all that was available) on the plane and decided i must finish watching the entire series when i came back home. I even paid $3 to watch one of the eposide on an online video streaming site. Then I figure why not just buy the whole set on bluray, it's probably cheaper. I'm glad that i did. I didn't finish the whole thing yet, but it's very educational. It explains a lot of astro-physics in lay man's terms, tho there are still some topics that are hard to grasp. Get it, you won't regret it!

Very good documentaries, hate chapter menu design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While Comos is a very good documentary series, I hate the Bluray chapters used on this series. I only watch one episode at a time but I keep getting lost in the stupid chapter menu design because it only give the title of the episode. Why can't they also put a chapter number with the title name than trying to make the menu looks all neat? The Bluray version stores the location of where I last played on the player's storage but sometimes, when I try to resume where I last played, it confuses my Bluray player until it gets stuck in the loop. The only way I can get the player to play is tell it to restart the disc from the beginning so that it will clear the disc info in the player's flash storage.

Sagan would of been proud!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a child Carl Sagan was the inspiration for our generation to look to the heavens. Now the torch has been passed to the next generation!! Well done Neal, Carl would of been proud!!!

Shows Hope for Television
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A fantastic sequel to the original "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage" series originally hosted by Carl Sagan, the fact that there are still people out there who wanted this made shows hope that maybe, just maybe, there is hope for the future of television. Sure, it stinks it only slated one season, but that may just be enough of a spark to get even more series like it moving. "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" feels like something the History Channel or Discovery would show if either channel still cared about informing the public as opposed to generic ratings traps. Highly recommend.

A Worth Successor to the Original
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great watch in case you missed it in the original broadcast. A very timely update to the Carl Sagan classic, the new "Cosmos" with Neil DeGrasse Tyson is very visually engaging, and the explanations, stories and presentation are accessible to everyone, regardless of education level or knowledge of science. Worth the purchase and viewing!

Awesome series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember the original series with Carl Sagan and have to admit it was a little dry but this series honors the original but is also very nicely done. Neil deGrasse Tyson is the perfect person to host this as he has a wonderful way of explaining things that is informative and yet entertaining at the same time. Hope there is a 2nd series!

Great Series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a present for my father who was a fan of the original space series with Carl Sagan. I decided to check this out for myself and it's a good series for anyone who enjoys astronomy or even a casual admirer. Check this out.
