Customers are pleased with the game's updated graphics, fun gameplay, and the overall quality of the remaster. Many appreciate the nostalgic experience and consider the price point to be excellent value. However, some players found the difficulty challenging, and a few noted concerns about the controls and occasional issues with jumping and load times. The physics engine also received mixed feedback.

I'm glad that they're finally bringing Crash back, but I'm not a fan of the art style, it plays completely different than the originals and it's only on PS4 at the time of this review

I heard the controls were kind of clunky, but there haven't been any good games since Breath of The Wild, so I decided to pick this up. At first, it seemed like the controls were fine, especially in the early, easy levels. I thought maybe the reviewers I read were just being whiny and nit-picky. But then I got to some of the really hard levels, like Native Fortress and Temple Ruins, and realized what all the critics were complaining about. I have never come so close to smashing my PS4 controller, or breaking it half, or throwing it through the TV screen. Crash just doesn't land where you think he's going to land about 15-20% of the time you jump - which is way, way, way too often for a hard platformer that is full of tricky jumps that require split-second timing and spatial precision. There are so many times that you hit the right buttons to make Crash do a high-jump or leap to a certain platform - but he just won't reach where you need him to go, through no fault of your own. In the hints section of the loading screen, the developers suggest using the directional pad instead of the analog stick for better controls, but it really doesn't make that much of a difference. The controls are better on the D-pad, but still kind of sticky and slow by modern standards. By the way, I had the original trilogy back in the 90's, and I swear Naughty Dog's versions had tighter, more responsive controls. It's a big problem and kind of a deal breaker when a game doesn't control reliably, but you can ultimately kind of adjust to the clunky controls in N. Sane Trilogy, and figure out how to compensate for it. After adjusting to the sluggishness of the controls, I was able to finally beat some of those super-tough levels in Crash 1. On the plus side, the insane difficulty makes beating a hard level incredibly rewarding. You really feel like you've accomplished something amazing, and that maybe, just maybe you're not a complete failure in life. But I digress. The control issues are not bad enough, thankfully, to suck all the fun out of the games. In fact, it's a testament to the overall quality of the trilogy that despite its serious control issues, the games keep you eagerly coming back for more. The level design in all three games is very well-thought-out. The levels are inventive, challenging, and rarely feel repetitive. The upgraded graphics are stunning and beautiful, especially on PS4 Pro. More than anything, though, Naughty Dog's original games and these HD remakes are just really, really fun to play. So fun that the positive aspects of N. Sane trilogy manage to far outweigh the negative impact of its stiff, unwieldy controls. Overall, there is easily enough great platforming content here to make this a worthy purchase at $39.99. If you like or love old-school platformers or Crash Bandicoot, this trilogy is a no-brainer; you should absolutely, positively, 100% buy this. If platforming games aren't your thing, you might consider renting this first or skipping it altogether. DKC Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World 2, and Rayman Legends are better games in the same genre, though none of them mix 2D and 3D in the same way as Crash. Activision should release a brand new Crash game with the same gorgeous 4K graphics, same Naughty Dog-inspired gameplay mechanisms, and much tighter controls in 2018!

I played every single crash games on the ps, ps2, ps3, & now on the ps4. I love the first three games. Being that said when they announced the re-mastered version I was excited but also had real high expectation. Wanted the game to look but still have the crash look (Not over do it). Wanted Crash to look like the original but feel the same. I expected a game to look great but also to bring me back to the 90s. I am satisfied. The game look amazing and feels amazing. I am wowed how good the game looks graphic wise but wowed in how each level has the same layout as the original. I am also impressed on how crash feel though out the game. In al three of the original games crash moves and attack are different. For example the jump in crash 1 jumping in standing position gave you the same difference if you were jumping while running but on the remaining crash games that was adjusted. To make crash feel the same in the remastered version they have made his jumping the same through the three games. You see this especially on crash 1 when it comes to jumping through obstacles it is more difficult than the original but once you get comfortable with the change it becomes easy. Overall I love this remasterd version of the game and I will recommend any one to buy.

To provide some context, I am 23 years old and have grown up playing video games since I was 6. If you are here for a short summary, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy is great for young, old, new, and experienced gamers and is a must have for any PS4. If you want a more in depth review, please read on. When I heard about the N Sane Trilogy last year, my expectations were through the roof. Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped to this day remains one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. Having purchased the game on its release date, I can say that Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy was easily worth the money. The game includes all 3 original Crash games: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. All of them have been updated with better visuals and sounds. There are two things in particular that stand out to me. First, Vicarious Visions does a great job of adding small but noticeable details to the old games. If you haven't played the originals, you won't notice these but for more seasoned Crash Bandicoot fans you will come to adore these minor pleasures. The attention to detail is phenomenal and still impress me as I discover new animations while playing. Second, none of the updates affect the overall gaming experience. By this, I mean that each of the games still had their varying levels of difficulty. Hands down, Crash Bandicoot is the hardest of the 3 games yet it still maintains its fun/challenging atmosphere. As someone who has played all three games on both Playstation and Playstation 4, the controls and difficulty are identical. Young and new gamers can enjoy the simplicity of completing levels and battling the next boss while older and experienced gamers are able to search for hidden gems or race against the clock for time relics. The thing I love most about the Crash Bandicoot trilogy is its ability to draw in all types of gamers. The N Sane Trilogy gave me exactly what I wanted from the old Crash games with the improved visual and audio capabilities of the PS4. Hear me out, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy is a great game for both kids and adults and is easily worth your money. This is the reboot you desired old friend. Welcome home, Crash, welcome home.

Great set of games with only one major flaw

I loved playing these games when I was a kid, so OF COURSE I had to pick this up ASAP. Don't jump to conclusions here and think these are just a minor graphical overhaul, they remade these titles from the ground up all over again; However, because of this fact, there's one HUGE...and I say HUGE.. flaw in the trilogy: the jump physics in these games are way different and you can tell. You have to EXACTLY land in certain spots on the more challenging levels, and if you don't, even if it looks like you were about to land correctly, you slip and fall to your death IMMEDIATELY. The jump physics don't play out the way they did in the original and the developer & publisher have even gone on record acknowledging this is the case. I really felt like I was playing Castlevania Adventure for the GameBoy like I had when I was a kid. Just punishing jump physics with arbitrary limits the likes we don't see anymore -- even back then they're were SERIOUSLY outdated by that point. If you can deal with a lot of trial-and-error because of these jump physics, go ahead and pick up this title. You'll have a blast with all three games. I've played my fair share of titles with arbitrary difficulty forced on the player, so I'll deal. This is just a warning before you make any sort of commitment.

This game is awesome! Played this on the PlayStation way back in the days, what I would give to play it again, and we finally can! This game is a classic PlayStation exclusive and so glad the remastered all three titles! This is one game you won't want to miss out on.

    Honest Review

Crash's comeback is full of nostalgia and hope. Fans have been waiting a lot and the game gives honor to the original 3 games. The last two games, Cortes Strikes Back and Warped are great experiences. The design, gameplay, and graphics are excellent, but these last two games are highly affected by the awful gameplay of the first Crash Bandicoot. As a Crash fan, the game is loyal to its original parents but it also brought the mistakes they made. The jumping system is the same or worse than the original games and this really sours the experience that gamers have. The game does little to no good in bringing new people to the crash community. The game is literally done for those nostalgic Crash fans that have waited for a remake of the original Naughty Dog games. It's a shame that Activision and Vicarious Visions didn't put more effort on fixing the jumping system in the first game so that newcomers could enjoy the game. The game is totally worth 40 bucks but not more. The first game will really frustrate you and will sour the experience. For newcomers, just go play the second game and leave the first one for last. The 3 stars are given because of how good the remake is and the incredible experience the last two games give. But it loses two stars because of its jumping system and the bad first experience. It is sad because I waited for more success for this game and upcoming games, but it looks like this game will not help much. I will recommend the last two games but avoid the sour taste of losing all the time in the first game.
