Crucial AI and gaming focused overclocking

Crucial continues to be one of the key players in providing top-notch RAM for various system requirements. This Crucial RAM kit for upgrade or add-on to any system utilizes a minimalist design, while keeping base with a more traditional RAM look. Yes, no bells and whistles of lighting, wildly cut cooling channels or heatsinks. Afterall it’s RAM and while lighting effects may seem cool, does it really provide anything other than the “oooohh, awwwwhhh” effects? For those that need those effects, move-on; this will not be for you. For those that need the RAM for overclocking and gaming without the needed effects, stick around. The heatsinks are standard aluminum, colored black. This works out as it blends into any illuminated case nicely without pull attention away from the main lighting build effects if in use. On the cooling heatsink, there’s minimal Crucial branding with your standard detailed tag on the RAM. The RAM itself is not a low-profile design as each stick will stand around 1.5 inches due to the cooling heatsinks. This may interfere with your current CPU cooler if it is fairly large, and does not provide much clearance between the systemboard, processor, and memory module locations. Each module is 16GB DDR5 using a single-rank design, set initially at a “clock speed” of XX-5600 to allow for initial compatibility. “Clock Speed” is the rate at which RAM is able to access processor data for processing. The higher the speed, the more data per-second can be processed by your RAM. Installation is easy, ensure your aligned with he tab on the systemboard and the slot, push/slide in to the slot until click. Be sure not to use excessive force during install. This is why it’s important for gamers to have high clock speeds when gaming and help prevent lag. We are not talking about lag from your internet connection. The lag between pushing a keyboard key to send the signal to the processor and get the returned action. In similar nature to Frame Rate processing for your graphics options. This aspect is also true when using any form of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as this will determine how fast your answers are processed and data is calculated. Overalls speeds during testing showed a significant increase in processing when using one of the current AI forms. For gameplay, there was noticeable difference from the initial install testing and overclocking.

Great potential and specs but ultimaly failed

I recently decided to switch up my PC's stock memory with Crucial's new Pro 32GB (2pk 16GB) DDR5-6000 UDIMM Overclocking Edition RAM, hoping to enhance my system's performance. The installation process for RAM memory is incredibly easy and straightforward, but if you have any worries, Crucial website offers step by step instructions and there is also a QR code on the package to take you there. However, my experience took an unexpected turn post-installation. After carefully installing the RAM, my PC failed to boot. I double-checked the installation and ensured everything was seated correctly, but the system simply wouldn't start. I was quite disappointed as I had high hopes for the performance boost this upgrade was supposed to bring. My PC not only failed to boot but also malfunctioned, making it impossible to diagnose the issue without removing the new RAM. I wasn't sure if the problem was due to a defect in the RAM or a miscommunication between my PC's specifications and the RAM itself. I double and triple checked the specs of my rig making sure it was compatible with the memory and getting confirmation from Crucial support staff. Despite the promising specs and capabilities of the Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5-6000 UDIMM, it just didn’t work with my setup for some reason. Crucial's customer service deserves a mention here. They were professional and very helpful throughout the troubleshooting process. Their team guided me through various steps to try and resolve the issue, but unfortunately, we couldn't get the RAM to work with my system. In the end, while the potential of Crucial's Pro 32GB DDR5-6000 UDIMM Overclocking Edition RAM is impressive, my personal experience was less than ideal. I was excited about the upgrade and the enhanced capabilities it promised, but it didn't work out for me. However, the professionalism and support from Crucial's customer service were top-notch, even though the product ultimately did not meet my expectations. I can say that I have used many Crucial products in the past and they have been very reliable and a good product, maybe I just got an unlucky bad memory from the product line. I would recommend Crucial to anyone as I have a more positive track record with other products, I just can’t give any high recommendations on this product until I get it to work as intended. If anything changes, I will definitely provide an update.

FAST RAM from a trusted name

Crucial (now a subbrand of Micron, one of the world's largest memory manufacturers) has long been a trusted name in RAM. And this PRO 32GB kit is a great example of why that is. Crucial didn't load this kit down with flashy and colorful LEDs or massive (and not helpful) heatsinks. What they DID was pack it with fast, high capacity memory modules. But is it right for you? Read on to find out. First off, if your motherboard supports DDR5 and at least two sticks, this is a drop in upgrade - either replacing your existing slower/lower capacity RAM or alongside your existing RAM if you prefer and have 2 or more open slots (though in that case, ALL the RAM will run at the speed of the SLOWER RAM, so consider that carefully). Once physically installed, you should go to the BIOS / UEFI screen on your PC and look to see if you can turn the speed on this RAM up to it's rated "XMP" profile or rated speed of up to DDR5-6000 (some pre-built machines may not allow this - and that's fine as the RAM will still work though it may not use ALL it's performance). At this point - in mid-2024 - 32GB is plenty of RAM for nearly anything you might do particularly with the speed of this kit. I like the black / plain design of the RAM as well and the lower profile (though not super low) will fit with more large coolers than RAM with larger heatsinks/lights. So if you're looking for no nonsense, fast and high capacity RAM that just works, this is a great kit to add to your list. Give it a try today!

Perfect RAM to round out a Gaming Rig

I've been a big fan of Crucial RAM, and while I miss their Balltix line, the Pro Overclocking seems to fill the same niche of RAM. Simple looks and does what it says. Thats all I ever need from my RAM. Crucial's Pro Overclocking was a breeze to install and use. Just remember that even though this is rated at 6000Mhz, you still have to enter into your computer's BIOS to turn on XMP to ensure the PC will clock the RAM to full speed rated on the case. I had no trouble hitting the speed in my 12700K Promox server. In fact I was happy that Crucial did a great job in the sense that after I had tested it with a memory tester at the full speed when I added my other 96GB of 5600 RAM, it clocked down and worked with that with no issues, which is not something that will happen all the time when you mix RAM, so I was happy to see that my CPU and RAM played nice. Then I got my parts for my new gaming system a 7800X3D and it worked with AMD's platform at 6000 with no issues and seemed to fly as I played games. I did turn off XMP and ran some games and the 6000 over default JDEC max speed was good for about 5% in FPS boost in Cyberpunk 2077. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with this kit, it took the beating I gave it and performed like I expected. Definitely recommend going Crucial if you need RAM for a new DDR5 system. Just can't go wrong.

You might have your new set of RAM if you're looking for some fast, no nonsense memory to upgrade your rig. 6000MT/s is really quick and you don't have to do anything but enable XMP (or the equivalent in AMD systems) to get those speeds. Memory upgrades are one of the easiest upgrades you can do to your system. I wouldn't pair these with other RAM modules that aren't using the same speed and timings so most likely you just pop out the old modules and snap in the new ones. I like the nice black shroud on these. Definitely beats the old PCB green sticks I replaced and I like the subtle elegance of the black over some bright RGB, personally. After installation, booting up and heading straight into the BIOS to make sure the system was seeing the right thing. Enabling the XMP profile and my BIOS immediately detected and enabled the correct timings and speeds for these modules. Nothing more required. I can't tell you you're going to feel a difference between 5600 and 6000 MT/s memory, but if you're looking for every little bit of advantage, this might be the way to go. After running these for a while, they're performing as expected and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for some faster memory.

Nice bit of kit for 32GB of DDR5

So I needed a excuse to build a new rig. I was experimenting with dual channel and quad channel and realized that with 32GB DDR5 I didn't have to run the same configuration that I did in my old rig with 64GB DDR4 in all four slots on the motherboard (I'm using a ATX form factor because I still like my case). I like the height of the ram as well and the heat sinks are a nice matte black (new rig is all black, no RGB). It will fit in a case that has a low CPU cooler fan or heatsink. Another cool thing about this RAM is that you can rock it with a AMD or Intel CPU seeming as though it is EXPO (Extended Profiles for Overclocking) and XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) certified. Just be careful with trying to overclock it. Playing with the voltage is a bit tricky and something you definitely should check to make sure your motherboard is supply the correct amount. You don't want to RMA new memory unless you have to because it was dead out of the box. If you're looking for the fastest memory you might be a bit disappointed but this kit is stable and would be a good start if your budget is tight and you need to get up and running. I have no problem recommending this kit.

I used this kit to upgrade some bargain-basement no-name barely-can-tell-it's DDR5 ram that I slapped into my machine when I first built it due to the kit I had ordered being lost in shipping and it's giving a marked speed boost in everything I do. The computer I put it into is as follows: i9-14900KF Aorus Z790 AORUS PRO X motherboard Gigabyte Aero RTX 4090 2x Crucial 4TB NVME SSDs System picked up the XMP profile right away without an manual intervention, giving me the full 6000mhz speed. Off to benchmarking! Every test I could find to throw at it resulted in higher benchmark scores, especially those that related to memory. Games - that's a slightly different story - my machine was already knocking the frame rates out of the park, so even though the FPS numbers were higher, nothing was visible to my eyes - there's only so fast that the human eye can recognize! But yes, the frame rates were higher! I've had nothing but success when it comes to Crucial RAM and SSDs over the past several generations of builds that I've done - this definitely continues that tradition and I'm happy to recommend them to anyone who was fast, stable, and solid!
