Customers are saying

Customers admire the 1500VA Battery Back-Up System's long battery life, strong performance, and ease of use. Many appreciate its surge protection capabilities, reasonable price, and the informative display. While some found the unit heavy and noted occasional software challenges, the positive feedback on its functionality and features outweighs these minor drawbacks. The system's setup is also praised for being straightforward.

Unit was defective. Plugged in and powered on fine, tripped the fuse on self-test. Unit came back on, tried self test under a small load, unit tripped the fuse again with the smell of smoke and never came back on. Return was easy to BB via ups store.

we bought this over a year ago and until yesterday it's worked fine. Now it's randomly shutting off power output (ya know, the one things is supposed to prevent). It's plugged it, no power surges or tripped breakers, just *bleh* and no output.

After being skeptical about CyberPower from an APC user, decided to give this one a go. It looked good out of the package, very solid. Followed the instructions to let it charge for 8 hours before using it with electronics. Not even 4 hours in, heard a loud buzzing and it was the unit pumping out a Fault 03 code (charger issues). The instructions said to call CyberPower technical support. I know exactly what they would say. Returned it immediately and waiting on an APC order. Should have stuck with what works.

This product does not work as advertised. As others have stated, it randomly shuts off. When my power went off, it did not switch over to battery mode. The unit only works when the power is on, and when it's connected it shuts off randomly. The unit says that my battery is full, but it does not work in battery mode. I have two units from APC and they work perfect with no issues.

    Disappointed

7 months later and it failed me at the time of need. It worked fine for 7 months but during a power outage, I turned it off since I wasn't using it and then I tried to turn it on again after half an hour or so and it wouldn't turn on. It was able to turn on again once the power came back. At that point, I unplugged it just to see if I could turn it off and back on again and this time it worked (although I didn't wait very long). Therefore, if I sent it in to warranty, they probably won't discover an issue. Lesson learned: don't turn it off during a power outage; you may not be able to turn it back on.

Product is less than two years old and started shutting down at random times. Now the battery back-up no longer functions. If the power fails, so does the product intended to protect against it. Very poor quality. Disappointing for the money I have spent. Not a good brand in general.

This thing will shut off randomly. I've had it for 3 weeks and I've now come down to find it off again for a 2nd time. I have modem plugged into the same outlet which doesn't shut off, so it's not the outlet. This is extremely frustrating because I have a server plugged into it. This things creating the actual problem I bought it to prevent. Unacceptable and will be returning.

Great Power supply. I have used these CyberPower backups for more than 15 years. But just know to test them to make sure the batteries are stll good. I test mine about every three months. In the Power Panel software , you can run a test anytime you choose. My last set of batteries lasted 4 years. I would suggest replacing them around the 3 year mark. They use 2 batteries and cost about $40 to $50 each.

I bought this Cyberpower UPS backup about a week ago to protect my equipment. Installation was easy and I had it up and running in no time. It was working fine but after two days it just quit. I could not turn the unit on no matter what I tried. I followed the troubleshooting suggestions from the user manual but nothing worked. I was so upset and returned it to the Best Buy store. Would not recommend it.

    Money Well Spent!

I have always use surge protectors for all my electronics, but recently my Power company has been having contestant short power outages, never lasting more than a few seconds, but enough to obviously reboot my computer and has recently caused several HDD corruption issues.. I finally got sick of it and invested in a UPS.. I wasn't sure how many VA's I would need but I wanted it to run for at least 10 minutes with out power. This unit powers my Quad Core desktop, 32" LCD TV/Monitor, All-In-One Printer and several USB peripherals plugged in to the computer for ~60 minutes. I love that it also "cleans" the power as it comes in, so if the power sags or spikes it filters that out before going to anything plugged into the device. It also communicates with software on the computer via USB and can shut the computer down when the battery is getting low. This is a wonderful feature as If you are not home and have a massive power outage, it will take care of it for you. It's money well spent, data recovery is VERY expensive and protecting your electronics from power issues is the best way to prevent data corruption on your computer.
