No problems so far

It's supposed to only give me about 2 min of time to shut down my PS4 before losing power, but I guess that's enough time. The guy at the store said that I could get more time by only plugging in my PS4 to this and not the TV, which makes sense, but I'm not sure how i can navigate the controls on screen to shut down the system if I can't see the prompts on screen to do so (with the TV having lost power).
