There is a second of time where the power is out and unfortunately this will reset a router which causes issues if you have smart devices on the network. Its description says its a UPS but this isnt really accurate as the power supply can be inteurrupted

Posted .Hi Robert, The audible alarm can be turned OFF or ON by quickly pressing the POWER button twice. The default setting is for the Alarm On. To turn the Alarm Of, quickly press the power button twice. You will hear two short beeps when the Alarm is turned of. To turn the Alarm back ON, quickly press the power button twice. You will hear a single short beep when the Alarm is turned on. *When the Alarm is turned of, there will be no audible notification when the UPS reaches a low battery state. Great question!

All I wanted it to do, was to keep the modem, powered up, if we had a power failure. It did not. Also it appears to put an extra load on the home electrical system. I would not call it energy efficient. Lesson learned.

I just unplugged it today and realized the battery backup no longer works. I assume the battery needs to be replaced even though it only ran off the battery for 30 minutes or less in the 26 months that I’ve owned this. I’ll never buy this piece of crap again.
