Well here we are 2 weeks later and the thing does not work at all. Ended up with multiple surges due to high winds from Ian and not once did this keep my items plugged into it from surging and shutting off.

I installed the app to monitor the performance but I keep getting an unknown message. I sent 2 emails to the tech support but so far issue has not been resolved!

I live off grid and run a generator for 12 hours and have a small solar pack and I charge this backup for 12 hours and when I shut the generator off for the night I only get two hours of back up power and the only thing that is plugged into this unit is a modem for the satellite and it is 48 volts and 1.8 amps. In other words don’t bother with it. I will try and get my money back when I go to town in a few months.

Posted .Hello, It is best practice to look at run time estimations before making a purchase. That being said, 2 hours with the load described exceeds the estimated run time expected from the SX950U.
Also sounds as if you are attempting to use the UPS for extended run times. UPS battery backups are not meant for extended battery run time. They are designed to provide uninterrupted power so that the connected equipment can be powered off correctly.

I worked great for about 4 to 5 months and then it would lose power. At first I assumed someone was accidentally turning it off but soon realized that wasn't the case. It stopped working. I would not recommend this battery backup.

Worked for a year and then died on me

It started continually beeping, I tried multiple outlets and different houses to verify it wasn't my house electrical causing the issue. I'm not seeing many others complain about it so I must have just received a bad one. My experience rates a one star.

I feel lucky that it didn't burn our house down. We only had our reclining couch plugged in, so it most definitely wasn't due to user error.
