DOA: CyberPower tried to backout of warranty!

Unit came DOA from the box. The unit would never go into battery backup mode when the line power was cut, even after initially charging internal battery for two days. I took the battery out to measure and it was only showing 9 volts with a multimeter. The battery was bad.
I first contacted CyberPower and told them the situation. Their support staff responded that I violated the warranty because "there are no user serviceable parts inside". Apparently just taking the battery out, which IS designed to be serviced via an access door, violates the warranty! I then reminded CyberPower about Right to Repair legislation, and they offered a "one-time solution".
By this time their customer support left a sour taste in my mouth and I knew any future help/warranty claims would be discarded by CyberPower. I decided to just return the unit back to Best Buy who was very happy to do so.
One thing I actually liked about this unit was the wall mount tabs on the back...I was able to neatly mount it hidden under my work desk and off the floor, which is something I could not do with my previous UPS (unfortunately this also cost me time installing and left me with holes in my desk since I couldn't use the unit).

Backup waveform is hit or miss with electronics

Electronics generally require a sinusoid. When in backup mode, this puts out severe square waves which may or may not work with your electronics as shown in the attached images. This sort of waveform works well with inductive loads (i.e. refrigerator compressor, air conditioning condenser, etc.) BUT NOT WITH SENSITIVE ELECTRONICS.
In this instance, it worked with my desktop, but not the monitor.

Hello! You are absolutely correct this model of UPS will output a Simulated Sinewave output when it is in battery operation. Typically electronics with more sensitive and highly efficient power supplies, such as your monitor, require a pure sinewave output and for those electronics we suggest a sine wave or PFC model of UPS. I would also like to point out that for any model of our UPS, please do not connect a refrigerator or air-conditioner as doing so voids your warranty as large appliances like that will draw large amounts of current that can damage the UPS.

During power outages or voltage fluctuations, it seamlessly switches to battery power, ensuring uninterrupted operation of my devices. The 950VA capacity provides ample runtime to safely shut down my computer or save important files, protecting my work from unexpected power disruptions. Additionally, the system's automatic voltage regulation (AVR) feature ensures that my devices receive stable and clean power, safeguarding them from power surges and fluctuations.

It displays vital information such as the current power status, battery level, estimated runtime, and load capacity. This feature gives me a clear overview of the system's performance and allows me to make informed decisions on power management.
What truly sets this battery back-up system apart is its advanced surge protection capabilities. It offers excellent protection against power surges, spikes, and other electrical disturbances. As someone who has invested a significant amount in electronic equipment, knowing that they are safeguarded from potential damage gives me peace of mind.
Furthermore, I must commend the customer service provided by BestBuy. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and provided unbiased advice when I was researching various power protection options. They helped me make an informed decision, and I'm grateful for their assistance.

I bought this when my Panamax unit died. I liked the fact that for a lower price than a replacement Panamax, it has more outlets and the battery backup. I also like the compact size. I have this hooked up to my TV, DISH DVR, Blu Ray player, and a couple of other things. When the power went out recently, it lasted about 30 minutes.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that only half the outlets are one the battery backup. The others only have the surge protection. This would have been good to know before I ordered it.
Overall though, it works great.

This unit replaced a 7 year old unit of less capacity. The new unit is more powerful, lighter and less expensive than the former unit it replaced. This unit has a better receptacle layout, plus USB ports. I've had the unit up for a couple of months now and have had one activation. It functioned as advertised with enough power not only to provide time for a shut down, but also to keep everything running for the time I needed to finish my work and conduct an orderly shutdown. This was approximately 20 minutes. The unit supports the following items - 1 desktop computer, 2 monitors, cable modem, router, 3 NAS drives, a floor lamp and our 55" TV. Excellent product.

My old APC backup finally bit the dust, so I bought this as a replacement. It has plenty of outlets and is easy to set up and use. I haven't experienced a power outage since installing it, but I have confidence it will provide the level of protection I require and keep my computers powered-up long enough for me to save whatever I'm working on and power them down properly should the power go off. That's all I really needed.

This is the third one of these we have purchased for our home for different locations in our home. They work great! We lose power sometimes due to winter storms and this unit gives you plenty of time to shut down your computer or tv properly when it happens. There are plenty of outlets on the unit, some are connected to the battery back-up feature and some are just surge protector outlets, so there is a variety to chose from. This is definitely worth the investment, not that expensive, and protects your valuable equipment! Great product, serves us well, great price!

It is a great small UPS. I use this one for my entertainment center. I have my television, AppleTV unit, HomePod mini pair, cable box and a few other things plugged into it. It provides cleaner power to all those things and prevents them from dropping during power hits. It has a nice number of outlets and the capacity will run everything I need during a few minutes of power outage.

Great UPS. Have my gaming rig hooked up this bad boy and it's been great. With recent storms and random power outages/surges, it work perfectly as advertised keeping my system running and preventing reboots. I cannot attest to the battery lifespan with a full load, but it worked sufficiently for charging phones when I was without power for a few days.
My only con is there is no way to silence the alarm when your system running on the battery back up. Not sure if other CP UPS models off this option, but I do have a APC UPS that allows you to slience the alarm.
Other than that, excellent must have for desktops, modems and routers.

Works better than I expected. The set up was easy and the program you download to monitor the battery health was simple to use. What surprised me was on the first power outage, it popped up a notification to my PC exactly how long the battery would last while running everything currently plugged in and that changed as I started shutting things off. I was able to leave my Wifi router plugged in and it ran through the 45 minute blackout, so my phone was still connected throughout.

I have had CyberPower battery back-up systems in the past that I really like. So when an OLD battery back-up needed replacement (more problems than just a dead battery), I ordered another CyberPower system. As usual, it is working great! We have reliable electricity except it occasionally has a momentary power loss. When the lights go out for a second or two, no big problem but when my computer or other electronics lose power, BIG PROBLEM. CyberPower takes care of that problem.
