Customers are saying

Customers value the Gamer Ultra Desktop's performance and graphics capabilities, frequently praising its speed and visual quality. Many appreciate the affordable price and the ease of setup, along with the included keyboard and mouse. However, some customers noted the absence of a CD drive and reported issues with fan noise and occasional motherboard problems. While most users experienced smooth gameplay with minimal lag, these issues should be considered.

    2nd broken unit

The first unit my daughter opened on Christmas morning never had any video output. Returned it, Best Buy's buggy return/order process meant that my replacement order went in "half way" where it didn't make it to the warehouse due to some software glitch, and it was a week before it was caught. So finally two weeks after Christmas the replacement unit comes in, and lo and behold it's stuck on "Just a moment..." for hours. I've read too many reviews of this product on other forums to think this is an anomaly. The QA is laughable - a card was loose, there are crumbs from the internal foam packing that I had to clean off of the heatsink. Regardless of whether I get this PC working after reinstalling Windows, or if I just bite the bullet and go buy a Dell, I will not recommend a CyberpowerPC product to anyone ever again, and I suggest Best Buy do an in depth review of what is going on with this vendor before they suffer a reputation hit because of them. Best Buy is on a comeback, they do not need to deal with 2nd rate manufacturers.

No Quality Control -- You Buy, You Roll the Dice

I get the allure of this computer: it's basically a solid machine made up of some well-known parts and configurations (in theory). The glass makes it look cool and it comes with a mouse and keyboard. I am convinced, however, that there is no quality control process going on when they roll of the assembly line. First, I saw someone taking there's back when I was purchasing one for my son (kind of a red flag, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt). When my son opened the box on Christmas morning it didn't work. Now, I happened to have two very tech savvy folks staying at my house for the holiday (the kind who build their own computers). So they gave it a look over. First problem they found was that the fan wouldn't turn on. Although, weirdly, it did if they manually gave it a little help. I'm pretty sure having to manually get the fan spinning with your finger was not on the spec sheet. Then, the graphics card failed. This is day one, hour one, on Christmas morning. As we looked at the build of the machine we also noticed it just had some odd, sometimes uneven screws and such. It doesn't seem possible to me that anyone bothered to plug the computer in and see if (1) the hardware actually worked, and (2) the computer would boot up. Again, this is why I'm convinced there is no quality control process going on. I suspect they run them off the factory floor as quickly as they can build them, and accept a certain amount of returns as the cost of doing business. So, if your'e willing to save some a few bucks and hope you happened to get a good one, that's probably fine. Just know you're rolling the dice. I returned mine and purchased a new computer from an entirely different (and well known) manufacturer.

    Don't Bother

I really REALLY wanted to like this computer. When I received mine I had an issue with my monitor picking up a signal from the tower. I spent the longest time trying to figure out what was going on. At first I thought was the monitor so I tested it on other systems and it worked fine. I even went through support to see if it was the problem. After realizing it wasn't I decided to contact CyberPowerPC support. During our chat, I was asked if the video card was blowing air and if the fan was spinning, to which it was not. I was then suggested to relocate the video card which I wasn't comfortable with and didn't want to void the warranty. I decided to bring it into a Best Buy and just do an exchange and have a new one shipped. Received the new one....SAME.EXACT.PROBLEM. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, because what are the chances did I get two brand new computers out of the box with a messed up video card, right!? Wrong. I looked more into the issues of this particular system and apparently it is really common. Taking it back for a refund. What a waste of my time! I only blame Best Buy for even carrying products from such a careless manufacture.

    Problems right out the box

First off let me start of by saying I had high hopes for this computer after reading soo many sparkling reviews for this product. After receiving this product, those reviews were either paid for or fabricated to make the company look good. First time I received this computer from UPS (Dec 7th 2016), the GPU would not work when I would start my computer. Leading to no signal on my monitor. I took it back to Best Buys and they exchanged it for another one (good experience BTW). Now the second time (Dec 15th 2016), the computer just freezes up when I have multiple tabs open, streaming video, watching Netflix, plugging in my external hard drive, or anything basic. You would think with specs like these, the computer would be able to handle BASIC functions right out of the box. I have lost faith in this computer and the company. No wonder it got 2 star review on consumer affairs. I will be returning back to Best Buys for a full refund ASAP!

    Buyer Beware

Do not waste your time or money on this gaming PC. It is a total piece of garbage. We experienced problems right out of the box as the computer wouldn't communicate with the monitor (no signal, blank screen). After several hours of research and messing around, we finally gave up and took it back to the store. We exchanged it for a new computer thinking it was just bad luck. Wrong. After setting it up and using it four times, the replacement computer experienced the same problems (no connection to the monitor). Thankfully the folks at Best Buy worked with us to exchange it a second time for a computer that actually works (we selected a different manufacturer of course). Be warned that you get what you pay for with the Cyberpowerpc. Junk. It is cheaply made. It is poorly packaged making it highly susceptible to damage in transit. The mouse and keyboard are bottom of the barrel quality. It has poor connectivity to the internet and is very slow to download web based content. I would not recommend this computer to a friend or to anyone else for that matter. Buy anything besides this computer. It is absolutely horrible.

    Two Faulty Units

After picking this computer up, I powered it on and experienced the same issue that an increasing number of people are encountering. Lights turn on, no beeps, no image on screen. I ensured that the HDMI cable and screen were working and everything was hooked up properly. I figured I just got unlucky, so I ordered a replacement. That showed up and I hooked it up immediately. Exactly the same issue. From what people are saying, it's the motherboard. It's more than just rotten luck when two in a row did not function properly. I do not recommend this product. The price may seem too good to be true and it is.

had to get 3 computers to get one to work

Okay, so the first computer I got everything worked, however the windows installed on it was invalid so i basically didn't have a fully functioning Windows 10 on my computer. I then proceeded to return it to the store to get a new one that had windows 10 installed correctly. I take it back home and set it all up to find out that it doesn't even power on (tried multiple power cords and checked the cords inside the tower and still did not work. I then had to go back across town again to trade it in again to get a properly working computer. Very unimpressed.

So... the first time I ordered this PC, I received it in good time only to find that its HDMI port would NOT output a signal. Checked multiple cables, monitors, and even a different video card. No signal. Sent it back in, got a new one. Works great, but the pre-installed Windows 10 isn't genuine. Good job installing a bogus OS, CyberpowerPC. Looks like I'm going to have to buy Windows 10 to activate and get rid of the 'activate windows' watermark. Guess that's part of how they sell it so cheap.

    Not VR ready

I don't understand why this is sold with VR ready bundle. It's not. To run oculus rift it needs to have two hdmi or a display port with hdmi on the video card. This computer only has one hdmi so I could not set up oculus rift. I purchased a USB to hdmi adapter and had constant issues with images and multiple game crashes due to specs being bare mininum. Ended up spending $1000 more on a better tower with top specs and everything runs flawlessly.

Bought this PC in the store. It came with bent processor heat sink. The processor fan is always at maximum. It is VERY LOUD and NOISY. Brought it back to Best Buy store and they REFUSED to take it back even without looking at it! BEWARE!
