when i tried to exchange my original purchase, i was told that the salespeople didn't tell me that the original timeframe of 30 days was changed to 15 days for returns. delivery takes up to 14 days by the way..... the first computer wouldn't even go to the operating system even after re-re-reinstalling the software. now the "replacement" computer they sent is doing the same thing... I'm fighting with them to get my $$ back.... nothing but headaches. spend a couple extra dollars and get a real system.

I ordered this for the summer gaming - when the product came in it had a fried mother board so I had to call 1 800 Best Buy to fix the problem. They send me another one. Yet another paper weight with a fried mother board - gave up right then and there.

Christmas morning, it did not turn on when plugged in. Had to take back to the store where they could not get it to work either. Had to return the computer and my son had to wait another 2 weeks for his gift.

    Decent Gaming Desktop

I've had this and still have this desktop for now about over 2 years. I needed a quick PC to replace my laptop so i can keep up with school work but be able to game on the side. With its base specs it worked very well for me and gamed decently at low to medium graphic setting on games. However, after about a month of first getting the desktop it would not start for the whole day, for reason the BIOS config changed and resetting the BIOS fixed the issue, after half a year the stock cooler on the cpu was failing, and recently the rear exhaust fan was also failing all easily replaced. This Desktop is great for beginning and a quick need of a pcs, saying that though theres not much room for upgrading, all in all past the minor failing details its a decent pc and if you have time on your hands it would be better to built your own.

    Economical Gamble

I hope I'm one of the lucky people and at least so far I am. I've had no problems with the power supply (others report they fail quickly). Another issue I read about, in a review of this same computer with a different hard drive, did come up. The other customer complained that the computer turns off every half hour. I assume they were downloading the WoW client or something similarly long, because the computer comes preset to sleep after a half hour of inactivity, something you can easily change in the power settings. So don't take the advice of Best Buy and purchase a new hard drive, as they did, Won't fix it, that's not the problem. If you do have problems running games, suspect your security programs first. Windows 8 comes with Windows Firewall and Windows Defender (the 8 version of Microsoft Security Essentials, a defense against viruses and spyware). If you install your own security hardware, be sure to shut the Microsoft versions down, or you'll bog down the system. My standards are probably low for gaming, but you won't get a high end gaming computer for this price. Beats the heck out of my old one, and it's way faster with more hard drive space than any laptop I could afford. No bloatware! Great! but little in terms of word processing, the primary need I have other than entertainment and gaming. Microsoft Office comes as a free one-month trial but I won't buy it, and OpenOffice as yet does not have a Windows 8 compatible version. Lots of my favorite freeware programs won't work with Windows 8, which is probably a good thing. I did find a word processor for free, called Jarte, which beats the heck out of Open Office, and works with 8. Reliability is the question, and if the power supply does fail I'll just get a new one to swap it out. Lots of problems you might encounter on first start could be due to things that shake loose during shipment, but many new owners won't feel comfortable opening the case and tinkering with things. The wiring is neatly done, something you'd have to pay extra for if you bought a custom version from Cyberpower. Last weakness, no prefilter for the fan ports. I'm going to have to ruin the look of it by taping tissue filters over those, or dust will ruin it in a few months.

Power Supply is 350. Overheats because fan starts to stick slowing it down. the geforce 610 can not keep up with games horrible graphics card. Also loud running system. If you replace the fan with AMD Fan, Power Supply and a better graphic card then you have a great system. After all the replacing the price for this system was close to $600-$800. My opinion buy a better system that does not deceive you!

    Bought two, both trash

I bought the first machine. Opened the box at 4PM, by 8 PM I had been to the service desk at Best Buy FOUR times. The video card wasn't working and needed to be unplugged and replugged so as to work. One trip to Best Buy. Next, the machine stopped reading the hard drive. Needed to have the BIOS opened up and adjusted. Second trip to Best Buy. Then one of the fans quit, Third trip to Best Buy. They couldn't send it out for repair, because it was one day old, the only option was to exchange it. So a fourth trip to Best Buy to bring in all the peripheral stuff to send it back. All in the space of Four Hours. One week later, arrives the replacement computer. First trip to Best Buy when the machine couldn't read it's hard drive. Second trip to Best Buy because one of the fans wasn't working. Third trip to Best Buy when the machine began crashing for no apparent reason. Returned the device for a refund and bought an Acer.

    Has 2 Cheap Parts

Like I said, you will need to replace 2 parts of this computer to game. I recently purchased this computer. I used it for a week, it ran fine with no issues but I noticed the lack in graphics power. I then upgraded to a 750w power supply (this PC comes with a 350w power supply), and then went and grabbed a EVGA GTX 660 Ti 2GB video card (this PC comes with a GTX 610 1GB). After another $400 investment, the numbers show you're better off just buying a PC with better parts. Although the computer runs immaculate now, (WoW, Diablo III, FarCry 3), all run on ultra settings at high fps. Wouldn't go through the hassle though.

I was kind of scared to purchase this computer due to all the bad reviews, and all the problems that people had in the past. Maybe i've just gotten lucky but I havent had any problems, runs perfect. I'm going to guess that Cyberpower finally got it together and fixed those issues with the 2014 machines. As far gaming it runs way better than I thought with the GeForce 610. Will play Skyrim on medium decently right out of the box. Games like Diablo 3 and Starcraft will play on highest settings. But if your going to be playing the really demanding games you're going to want to upgrade the graphics card eventually. I tried playing Far Cry 3 and I could scrape by on low settings/ Once I upgrade to either a GeForce 640 or 650 this is going to be an absolutely sweet gaming computer!

Couldn't say no to this PC when I saw the price. It's been running since I got it and i havent seen any problems. Windows 8 is not too bad either and I am enjoying the PC. Happy to see that you can still buy PC's that dont have any bloatware preinstalled out of the box. This thing looks pretty cool sitting on my desk. Need to replace an old xp machine soon so looking to order another one.

    PC Breakdown

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The best way to describe this PC is an entry level gaming PC. There is no way this PC will perform well with the new games that demand a lot from graphics cards. I was a little skeptical to buy it, but the way I saw it its a great place to start without having to start from a barebone kit. Also, the specs weren't too detailed, so for anyone who is considering buying this PC here's a break down of major parts. (Of what came with the one I received at least) Motherboard - ASRock 960GM-GS3 mATX Video Card - EVGA GeForce GT 610 Power Supply - Sparkle SPI460PFB2 There is a lot of room for improvement on this PC and the best part is you get the Windows 8 recovery disk with the serial slapped on the side of the case so you dont have look for it in the BIOS. All the drivers are also included. This PC is perfect for those who want a decent gaming computer on a tight budget with plans to upgrade little by little.

I ordered 2 of these computers for my family and this review should count for both. The computers were nicely packaged and I was happy to see we received actual Windows installation disc’s in case we ever need to reinstall Windows. Setup was a breeze and we were up and running in a few minutes. I am also very impressed with the speed of these AMD computers. I normally buy Intel, but AMD seems to provide the best bang for your buck. Borderlands 2 was installed on one of the PC’s and had a blast playing that game (if you don’t have it yet, buy it. Great game). Windows 8 has also supported all applications I have installed so far and I am glad Microsoft was able to put out a great stable OS. I’ve already recommended this system to a friend and I hope NewEgg and CyberPower continue to provide us great computers at a great price.
