    First Impression

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First impression is really mixed. I have viewed the specs of the computer and found it satisfying. With the price it offers and the chance to be able to play and stream my games with ease, it was something that I wanted to give it a try.... if I could. There are a good number of problems about this PC that I noticed: 1. Motherboard Okay, so remember back in the old days where the mouse came in a green cable and you stick it at the back? No? I do. That was when I was a Jr. High student... and that was more than 10 years ago. With technology evolving at a rapid pace and mouses now are USB, why is this port even necessary? It's making it look like it's old. 2. VGA connection I have called Geek Squad in three different locations. One insisted me on bringing it in, the other didn't know, and the other one..... took more than 25 minutes to get anyone on the line. And they never answered. I even talked to the Agent online and told me there's not much they can do without warranty... when I bought the warranty! So I had to do this for myself. The big problem I just realized... is that the VGA cable doesn't work. I tried it multiple times and it failed. It wasn't until we realized that the VGA and the HDMI cable located on upper area (where the mother board is) doesn't work. I bought a separate monitor hoping that it'll be enough, but they never bothered to tell me that the VGA cable doesn't work. I can use the monitor, fortunately, but out of sheer luck due to having an HDMI cable. It's bad. 3. Wireless Games nowadays are mostly based on computer. That's one of the few things that I mostly play on. Even if we're talking about Steam games, I need to go online and get this information. Well... problem is that when your wireless ranges from 0 to 5, it can get tough to download everything necessary to your PC. And when I say 0, sometimes, there's no internet. The desktop is located on the other side of the wall and it loses connection. The laptop I'm writing on right now is always a 5. Why gives us a defected wireless component? Why not even mention that you need it? Overall, I'm not impressed in the slightest. The one thing that it was sent to do and hopes the engine to show what it really can do.... I can't even begin doing that considering the games are still downloading it.... and most of the time it can't due to the horrible wireless component it came with. Price is good for the most part and I didn't mind getting another monitor, but this... is terrible. The only thing that's good about it is that the case is big and there's a lot of room you can use to modify it further... that's it. I can't write on how well this game desktop is without having actual games to test on. Fault being... the wireless sucks.

      Dear Edgar,

We are deeply sorry to hear you feel that way. Regarding the motherboard, many modern boards still come with a PS/2 port. While it is not used as much as USB devices now a days, it is a great option to have as a back up for any reason if the USB ports fail; which can be be cause by software failure. Do keep in mind that the PC has a video card installed. Due to having that specific component installed, the onboard video ports like the VGA you described will be automatically disabled by the PC its self. The reason the PC does this is due to having the video card which is what it will now used to out put video at a much higher performance, so it prioritizes that port while disabling its own. Please do not hesitate to give our support agents a call for assistance addressing the wireless card performance; we're happy to help with that anyway we can.

Lets start by point out that the mouse and keyboard or "okay", but they aren't gaming keyboard/mice except in looks. There's no configuration software, the lights can't be turned off and they are both corded as well. The case is pretty and I like the lightshow, but it would be nice to make the front lights stay a single colour if I wanted. First setup I got was a gigabyte motherboard that got fried somehow and took it back to get it repaired, they kept it for a month then decided just give me a whole new setup; that one came with an ASRock... I would say the computer is decent for what it is, just don't expect it to be awesome.

      Dear DreamsUnderStars,

Sorry to hear about your experience. The mouse and keyboard are complimentary items to help you start playing immediately. You are more than welcomed to upgrade/replace them if you want to. There should be a button to control the color and mode of the RGB using the buttons on the case. We do replace or repair the systems with similar motherboards, however, there is a not a guarantee it will be the same brand. If you do experience any other issues or have any questions or concerns with the PC, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support agents for any assistance.

Overall, it's a good amount of power for the price. But be aware that the network card this thing comes with is sub-par. Using a wired connection I'm getting speeds at best half what I get on other devices. And the wi-fi is even worse.

Beware: poor warranty and customer service

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My 11-year old son saved his money for two years to buy this PC. We bought it at Best Buy in Oceanside, California in late April of 2018. About three weeks ago (less than five months from the purchase date) it stop powering up. I had not bought Best Buy's extended warranty, because I am a technically savvy guy, having worked in technology for close to twenty years professionally, and figured that any failures outside of warranty would be an opportunity to teach my son how to upgrade his own computer. However, I do believe a company needs to stand by the warranty that comes with the computer. Little did I know how poor this warranty is. CyberPower only has one authorized repair center (themselves) and they require their customers to foot the shipping bill to the center. For me, that ended up being about $80 without insurance, when you factor in the necessary packing as well. Come to find out, they offer their customers free shipping for warranty work if they buy it directly and opt for some $10 or $20 "extended warranty" which is not available to customer who buy through another reseller. I complained about this to their customer support, and when this went no where, on their Facebook page. I was told by whoever manages their social media account that they urge their customers to buy directly, to avoid such situations. Hear that Best Buy? One of your suppliers is urging people not to buy from you. I have screenshots of the chat exchange if anyone is interested. Moral of the story, buy an extended warranty with Best Buy when you get one of these computers, or, you know, buy a computer from a company who stands behind their product. As for me, it will be cheaper to buy a replacement motherboard myself, and get the benefit of a warranty on the part, than to pay for shipping and trust these jokers to properly service the machine. For the record, I did contact Best Buy during all of this, and they tried to see if they could just swap out the machine, but I guess five months is a bit too long for it. I also offered to take it in to the Geek Squad, if they could do the warranty service, but they said Cyberpower does not authorize them to do warranty repairs.

    Case Fan/Overheating at Start Up

Since I've had this machine I've had issue with the start up maxing out the GPU usage and I've had to end task after task. I already had to completely restore the machine due to a boot looping error. Back in February, the case fan started being lousy. Going on and off. I would give 5 stars because it is the best bang for your buck that I've ever had. If I could get the fan replaced and another one included, this is would be the best pre built I've ever touched!

When I first bought and received this computer I was pretty happy with it. I thought the packaging was weird as they put expandable foam bags in the actual computer but it started okay and worked nicely. However, five months into using the computer it started to crash and lose the connection to my monitor, leaving me with a black screen and forcing me to hard shut-down the computer. I contacted Cyberpower for a repair since I spent EIGHT HUNDRED dollars on the stupid thing, and they tell me I am responsible to ship it for repair. ON A FIVE MONTH OLD COMPUTER THAT BROKE BECAUSE OF THEIR HORRIBLE WORK. Its absolutely ridiculous and if I could return the whole thing I would and buy something else. BEWARE OF THIS COMPUTER AND THIS COMPANY. If you want a computer that will work for more than a few months, or if you have money to burn to ship it across the country for repairs on your own dime, go ahead, but otherwise... find something else. I am so disappointed because we usually love everything we buy from best buy, but this computer is a flop.

I'll keep this short and blunt. First, it has NO disc drive at all. Second, it kept saying my copy of windows wasn't genuine. In the end I had to fork out 120 bones for a license. Third, the mouse it came with is awful, it only clicks when it wants to. Maybe 1 in 4 clicks, regardless of button, will register. Next upgrade season I'll just buy parts and build my own. probably cost about the same.

As for the disk drive, the PC is not advertised to come with one as the case it self does not support the installment of one.

Not sure if this is a problem with the majority of these products but before I upgraded the graphics card to a GTX 1080, I was getting sub 30 FPS on low settings in destiny 2. This was $650 when I bought. Right now (December 2018) you could build an equivalent/slightly better PC than this for $550, DO NOT SPEND $800 on this computer. Included KB/Mouse are fairly low quality. The best part of this PC is the tower, very good-looking tempered glass.

Please, please, please do some research on the brand because you will not be buying it after you do.

I bought this PC brand new and it worked for only 1 day. On the second day the PC would crash after playing any game for over 5 minutes, and on the 3rd day when i turned it on nothing came through to the monitor. I tried contacting customer support multiple time and got no responses, the customer support sucks, once cyberpowerpc has your money they could care less if your PC works or not. Thankfully Best Buy let me get a refund, i have no problem with Best Buy they are a good store, the problem is cyberpowerpc is horrible, odds are your PC will probably have a problem and cyberpowerpc could care less. Instead of buying this PC like i did, build your own PC which is now what im going to do, it is cheaper and not as hard as you might think.

Keeps shutting down or monitor says no signal

I bought this PC as a christmas gift for my son 2 years ago. I can't believe I put up with this for 2 years. I guess I am a patient guy and we don't use this PC much(because my son is frustrated about having to start it multiple times before a "signal" is received by the monitor. After reading several forums , this seems to be a very very common complaint with this PC. Have to swap the PSU out per the advice on the forums. Now the Question is , what PSU to put in - I am opting for a 600w unit. Hopefully, my son will be able to play on this. If not, it was a wasted $500 for a crappy PC. If it doesn't get fixed, will never buy a cyberpower PC again.

I am sure this system runs fine for whoever knows more about computer. I am not one of them.We wanted another model not in stock so we were sold this one for the same price. Little did we know there was no CD ROM nor does it say it on the box. I am returning this back to the store for a refund in the morning. We can't use this without one. How are we supposed to install operating system without one? Yes we could install one ourselves or get an external one, but why bother?I will buy the model that we originally wanted online. That one does have a Multi DVD/CD burner for the same price as this one.
