This game is so so SO good, in my experience

this game is pure art . well at least the idea is. the execution at the end of the day is up to you. after being rushed by investors and the media CDPR couldn’t face yet another delay for their rep as hype and community wide expectations would go up while company reputation would go down. rushed to release on the tenth of December , i got the experience to play the game both on a ps5 and on a 2080 playing almost maxed out, (ps5 runs pretty nice crashes every few hours tho, pc is muah) 80 hours in on pc, this game is astonishing, I could write on and on, but noticing the performance on lower gen consoles and cheaper pcs, it is actually a joke. for a game sponsored to be sold as a last gen game, you would it expect it to atleast be playable on that console. NOPE. I’ve seen countless complaints on lower gen however have not experienced it for myself so I just recommend if you want to experience the game right now, be very careful. I would only play right now if you pass the full next gen requirements and would NOT on lower gen consoles and even avoid on minimum. If you’ve been waiting for that next level game that game to really meet the hype, right now this game isn’t it, it’s AMAZING but I would wait until atleast mid-early 2021 to experience the TRUE game. TL:DR - Buy if you have a pretty good pc or a ps5, AVOID and WAIT if you don’t

    Amazing Game Riddled With Bugs

Amazing game riddled with bugs. I’m playing on my PS5. The story is great and I love the RPG elements of the game. Side missions are actually interesting too. The game is so buggy though, crashes randomly and graphics are hit or miss. Some scenes look amazing and then others look muddy and washed out. I’m sure the next gen update will fix these issues but my advice is the stay away from it if you intend to play it on current gen.

Cyberpunk 2077: The most average game of 2020.

Before you skip this, I am not going to complain about the bugs. While the bugs are annoying they never were the reason I wasn't having fun. I wasn't having fun because it is not a good game at it's core. It's story its fine for what it is but I found myself enjoying some of the side storylines much more. The main issue is the gameplay. I played a good 80 hours of this game and 100% the game. The gameplay never got enjoyable. I played about 20% of my combat encounters with guns. They feel stiff and I never enjoyed using them. I played most of the game with a melee build on hard difficulty and the melee was better but I feel like on of the main things in this game was about the different types of guns. The other main issue in this game is the A.I. Frankly, they are dumb. They are dumber than games Like Arkham City and Gta which has come out almost a decade ago. If I wanted to, I could've beaten every encounter using stealth without trying that hard. I didn't play on very hard I only played on hard but even the very hard gameplay doesn't seem to be very different. The game just is not good, and the bugs don't change that. I wish the game had no bugs so then people would how not great the core of the game really is.

Like a lot of people, I was hesitant to get the game at first with all the talk of bugs and glitches that Cyberpunk was apparently littered with. However, I took a chance on it and ended up really enjoying it and there were only a few bugs that were harmless. I finished the game and didn’t want it to end :/

Buy for PS5 upgrade, PS4 version not amazing

I bought this for the upgrade to PS5 and I can really only recommend it for that. PS4 versions don't run very well or look very pretty, but the PS5 upgrade is indeed an upgrade. Bugs are getting hashed out, the game is in a state that it should've been in on launch and will get better.

Awesome open-world action RPG. I know there are a ton of memes about the glitchiness of it, but the game came out over a year ago and most of that has been fixed. The game typically sells for very cheap these days and is totally worth the price!

In the beginning the game was really buggy it was an absolute letdown but over the past couple of months with the new updates the game's really starting to live up to my expectations! Don't listen to the negative people! Give the game a try! It's got a lot better since the updates!

So far so good. The story itself is kind of all over the place at first, but then maybe you start actually playing the main game. I have a hard time not doing side quests, so you know it's going to take forever. Even though this is updated to the PS5, there is still a lot of bugs.

If I was limiting this review the the PS4 version, it would get 2-stars, however, with this PS4 purchase of the game I was able to upgrade to the PS5 version at no cost. The PS5 version is essentially a different game. Great story, fun gameplay, and more expansion to come. Very much worth playing on the PS5.

Despite the crashes and bugs it has, the story so far is great, the characters are well written and a ton of lore. Gameplay is good. Playing it on PS5, I would not recommend getting it on PS4. Would I recommend it now? No, but I would recommend that you should get it much later this year. They have a chance to redeem themselves, look at No Man's Sky.

People are bashing the game because of all the high expectations and yes there are a lot of bugs and glitches for now which will most likely be buffered out by January but if you honestly just enjoy playing games and a good story especially a nice fleshed out RPG you’ll be ok. I enjoy it and I see why people are mad it wasn’t ready but overall I’m happy.

Excellent game. Played on PS5 before the PS5 update. Gameplay is fun, but the game really delivers in story and environment. I did everything I could do on the first playthrough. Will happily play again once DLC is released.

When this game was released it was rough, too rough to even play on a PS4. It runs much better now on PS5 and more patches will be out soon to improve performance even further. Performance issues aside, the world of Cyperpunk is fully realized on this game and is a joy to explore. When it isn't crashing, of course.

It’s very mediocre. The open world is empty and lifeless. The A.I. in this game doesn’t exist. The story of the game it’s kinda fun but it’s ruined by the constant bugs/glitches and crashes. I played on ps5 so at least it plays in 60fps but it constantly crashes. Hopefully when they launch the ps5 upgrade the game will be worth it.

Decent gameplay with great graphics and story. Reading online reviews about bugs and the game crashing, I was a bit nervous. But I did not encounter any crashes and only a handful of performance bugs that was distracting. The gameplay isn't anything groundbreaking, but the story kept my interest.

Overall game was decent. I enjoyed the story, but playing on PS5 in June of 2021 I still experienced a few glitches that made me have to restart the game. Luckily the auto save brought me back to right before the glitch occurred. As Sony has stated, it is only recommended to play this game on PS5, otherwise just wait.

    Unfinished release

The game is unfinished. Had a 45 GB mandatory update, and it didn’t fix the game. The story and scope of the game is great, but the graphics are mediocre in most parts and really nice in others. It crashes and glitches a lot. It seems like ps4 and Xbox didn’t get any attention at all. This review is for first month - I’m sure they’ll fix everything eventually, but they really dropped the ball considering how long I’d been waiting for the game. I wouldn’t recommend buying for ps4.

Full disclaimer, I have played this on all 3 versions of PlayStation from the OG, Pro and PS5. Cyberpunk is awful on the OG PS4, struggles to maintain 25fps and crashed a handful of times in less than 6 hours for me. Only play this game on your OG/Slim PS4 if you reeeeeeally want to see what it’s all about. Oh and you better pick up a physical copy because Sony still hasn’t allowed the game back onto PSN in digital format because of performance issues. On the Pro the game will run at 30fps but will dip in certain areas. I played on my Pro for 10 hours and had 3 major crashes, one of which deleted my save file which motivated me to start over on the PS5. Cyberpunk on PS5 is decent. The performance is there and while I only had the game crash on me a couple of times I did experience a fair amount of bugs. For instance, I would be driving along and out of nowhere my car would launch into the sky. NPC’s would T-pose during cutscenes or literally stand in my way preventing me from progressing. It’s a bunch of little things that should’ve been caught during QA trials. CDPR rode on their pedigree that followed the outward praise of Witcher 3 and managed to squander it all with this embarrassing release. Everything about it screams upper management failing to care about quality over pushing the game in front of an oncoming train before taking the bag of money and escaping.
