    Just spend the premium on Philips Hue

    Got these for my boyfriend last year because he was interested in colorful lights. They were fine at first, but over time we've had nothing but issues. Lights deciding to not turn on or off, either using Cync app (which is terrible btw) or our Google Home. I've had to completely resync the lights in the Cync app multiple times because they somehow just stop working. I'll stick with Philips Hue next time. Those may come at a premium but you literally get what you pay for, they are much more reliable.

    Much better than Phillips Hue bulbs

    These work very well. I appreciate that they have more functions than Phillips' light bulbs at half the cost. I will definitely be purchasing these instead of Phillips bulbs in the future.

    Not user, network, or security friendly!

    I do not recommend these light or any part of the system, and I will be returning the items I purchased. The C by GE web site paints a partial picture which while elegant and enticing does does not fully explain the negative features of the C by GE lighting products. 1. There is no support for Apple's HomeKit. 2. The devises do not maintain a consistent connection with a network. 3. you must use the C by GE network to control your lights remotely, which I find a serious security risk. 4. your iOS device according to GE only communicates with the devices locally by Bluetooth (although I don't believe this to be completely correct, since you can control the devises over the internet through WIFI and the GE C by GE network. Given the state of technology that exists today, I believe these products to be far behind the technology curve. GE has chosen to confine control of these products to a proprietary network instead of giving the users the option of controlling their own security with direct local and remote connections with authorized and security controlled MAC addresses and direct network to network VPN or other secure connections to the products. Unfortunately sales and marketing have taken precedence over security and user control, while GE has also decided to shun the Apple market.

We do not have a network that these devices connect to only cloud servers that are protected by your accounts' username and password. Our Direct connect devices link to your home wifi network. Homekit and Apple support is something we are striving to improve the relationship with and value all feedback. At this time only our bluetooth devices and C-Reach hub/bridge are supported but we hope that will expand in the near future.     My god, I have never faced so much frustration with such a simple product. Before I bought this atrocity, I had a Merkury brand smart bulb. It had it's problems but that was only once in awhile, so it was tolerable. Eventually the bulb wouldn't connect anymore so I headed over to my best buy. These were the only cheap bulbs amongst the decrepit aisles. As soon as I walked out of those doors and saw the horrendous reviews for the app, I knew immediately I was going to be in for a good time. As of writing this review, the app is permanently stuck on the splash screen and no amount of reinstalling and cache clearing will fix it because THIS APP IS AN ENGINEERING DISASTER. MY GOD THIS APP NEEDS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED FROM THE GROUND UP. GOD HELP THE ENGINEERING TEAM BEHIND THE APP. No amount of updates WILL EVER FIX THIS ATROCIOUS, HORRENDOUS DISASTER. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SANITY. I will be promptly returning this horrific product and opt for a different brand with actual good reviews when I can.

    Just looks, no functionality

    If I could set negative stars I would. The new Cync app focuses on looks but not in functionality. The lightbulbs were already poorly functional with the old app and now it’s even worse. When opening the app there is a variable delay for the bulbs to be online. I thought this could be fixed by getting the C-reach hubs which honestly make the connectivity even more sluggish. The software on every single lightbulb was outdated even though I regularly checked on that every month. Maybe they are cheap in price but also very, very cheap in efficiency. Don’t waste your time or money on this and get something that really works. My brother told me he had to switch from GE to some Chinese product that, even though the app looks cheap at least the function is way more efficient than these. Just a name with nothing else to offer

    The colors are bright and the integration with Google Home is good…when it works. The reset process is cumbersome and complicated. The lightbulbs regularly stop working and require a reset. Older bulbs won’t work even with firmware updates. Overall, an absolute waste of money.

    Complete Garbage!

    Complete garbage. I bought a pack of these for our living room to link up with our Google Home, and although the initial set up was easy, the light bulbs lose connectivity DAILY!! Anytime I ask Google to turn off the lights it doesn’t work. The ones in our bedroom are the same. I tried resetting the bulbs to factory default multiple times (don’t even get me started on that process… on for 8 secs, off for 2 secs… repeat 50 times) only for them to not connect at all. Completely regret buying these overpriced pieces of junk. At the time I bought them they were $50+, explains why the price is now only in the teens. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand.

    Connected Once, then never connected again

    Bought these wanting some smart bulbs too go with my new Nest Hub Pro. They connected fine first time around. Then i turned them off from the hub; they lost connection and never connected again. Went through all the troubleshooting guides, factory reset, took them out and tried putting them in different light fixtures. They never connected again.

      Sorry to hear you were not able to get it connected after a reset. Make sure when you are connecting these to select Direct Connect instead of bluetooth. It should prompt you to setup your wifi network which will need to be a 2.4ghz wifi network for this to pair.     The devices will randomly disconnect, and have to be reset, the app from GE is horrendous, lacks functionality and has no custom support thats useful. Go with phillips hue or geeni and dont waste your time with any GE product

    Tech support told me to buy one of their smart outlets and maybe that would make it conntect to my network again. Your product stops working so i should buy more of your products. Go with another brand.

These devices require a 2.4ghz wifi network to connect and use, and may have issues getting connected to blended networks.     Very glitchy and not worth your time

    Initial setup was a pain. Lights would not show up in either the Google Home or C by GE apps but after multiple tries they showed up. After being connected to Google home, they were not responding the entire time until I turn them off and on and they started to work. There is a delay between the bulbs. One will turn on before the other or change color before the other. Now, the bulb set as bulb #2 just doesn't work at all with Google Home or the GE app. It isn't even one specific bulb, just the one that is named the second one. I will be returning these and getting another brand.

    The light works, but the app used to control the light is absolute trash. It rarely works and makes the lights nearly impossible to control.

    These are Bluetooth- run away!

    Look, just don't ever buy anything smart home that is based on Bluetooth wireless. This was a mis-step by GE's design group 5 years ago, but I guess they decided to run with it. Smh. Marketing is driving these things now. Bottom line, bluetooth is short-range control. Period. How far can you walk away from your phone with your Bluetooth headset? And you think these will work further? Nobody else in the market uses Bluetooth for this type of device. Why? Because it is so unreliable. Btw, I am an IT network and wireless engineer. Creds.

    Cync is garbage with Alexa

    This product is garbage for Alexa. Half the time it shows non responsive or turns off on its own. I have 4 of them and they are all trash. I had to reset multiple times and the customer service for CYNC sucks. They should call it cyncless.

    Bad experience

    I like the lights and love the quality. however, it was a terrible online shopping experience. I bought those light as a gift for Christmas. The items were over 2 weeks late!. I contacted support for an update then i was offered a 10cent compensation for the inconvenience… I requested that my order gets canceled but they never canceled it for me. Not doing this again

    No purple, have to buy extra hardware to use with

    Box started "simple set up, no hub required" but in order to use with my Google app I have to buy a Google nest or something like it. AND the light goes from pink to blue, no purple at all. Bogus. Sylvania and feit both work with Google home app just fine.
