It a really good light bulb and the app is not that hard to connect. If there any issues just turn on and off the Bluetooth and restsrt the bulb by flipping the switch 5 times. That worked for me and hooked it up with google home and its amazing and easy to use. Has also routines to set up.

I recently added the Bluetooth light bulb to my home, and I'm genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the convenience it brings. This isn't just a light bulb; it's a versatile lighting solution that offers an incredible amount of control right from your smartphone.
What truly stands out is the intuitive phone interface. From the moment I downloaded the companion app, setting up and connecting the bulb was a breeze. The app itself is well-designed and incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through all the features.
The flexibility this bulb offers is its greatest asset. I love having the power to completely customize my lighting experience. The timer options are a fantastic addition, allowing me to schedule lights to turn on or off at specific times, which is perfect for waking up gradually or ensuring lights are off when I leave the house.
But the real game-changer is the ability to select color options, including the warmth of the light. Whether I want a vibrant blue for a party atmosphere, a soft, warm white for relaxing in the evening, or a crisp, cool white for reading, this bulb delivers. Adjusting the warmth of the light is particularly useful, as it allows me to create the perfect ambiance for any mood or activity.
Overall, this Bluetooth light bulb has exceeded my expectations. It's a simple yet powerful upgrade that truly enhances the functionality and comfort of my living space. If you're looking for an easy way to add smart lighting with extensive customization options, I highly recommend giving this a try!

C by GE Direct Connect Are Worthy Of Your Time!

I was skeptical at first because I had previously been using LIFX bulbs at my sisters during my last visit. So in my mind it was LIFX or nothing. But since stock of the 1100 lumen LIFX bulbs had been out of stock for some time i got tired of waiting. Now these aren’t perfect but they’re certainly not the worst compared to some other cheaper brands you can find at your local Walmart. For this review do note I am using both bulbs in lamps in the same room. So I’ll be reviewing based off using both. Also do note these are wifi bulbs not Bluetooth.
App:
The app I’d say is 8/10. It’s really easy to use, the setup on my trash DSL wifi was way faster than my old Geeni app setup. No flashing bulb and super slow install times. It’s likely you’ll have to install a firmware update for the bulbs but it took seconds, not minutes. Automation settings are pretty good, a little cumbersome when you’re trying to edit them because it’s so many clicks to get through it, but this is UI issue that can be fixed in future updates. Color wheel selection, I am pretty partial to LIFX app UI when it comes to their color wheel or band layout. GE has a giant color circle that you tap and drag certain areas of color to achieve the color you’re looking to get. I’ll get into more of that in the vibrance area below. Selecting the color is just ok BUT again this is a UI app issue NOT an issue with the bulb. It’s still better than Geeni and any other ones you can use thus far minus LIFX. Other than that the app works better than expected.
Brightness:
For all your white and warm lighting needs these are great. Cool white to warm soft amber light these are quite bright. There is a section of the app that controls the white light vibrancy, it is separate from the main color wheel. This was a great UI addition and makes using normal light to color light very easy and non complicated.
Color Depth & Vibrance:
When shopping for multicolor lighting, everyone is looking for color vibrance and saturation, brightness and well a full spectrum of color. If I was to rate the overall vibrancy of all the colors as a whole I’d give this 8.5-9/10 and here’s why:
Blues - the entire blue spectrum from deep to light to teal and aqua colors are all very saturated and vibrant. 10/10
Reds - As with the blues, the reds are also extremely saturated, bright and vibrant, and a relatively excellent spectrum. Deep red to hot pink to magenta you’ll be able to achieve quite a few red colors. 9/10
Orange - the orange spectrum is good when you can nail it on the color wheel. Because it’s a wheel of color as opposed to a band with a slider and orange being a small area of the wheel compared to your blues, reds, and green area; it can be a little irritating to get the right orange. However, once you figure out how to drag the color selector right you can achieve deep warm orange to a light amber color. Again this is a UI issue that GE can address in a future app update, this isn’t a bulb issue. 6.5-7/10
Purples - The weakest of the bunch and completely incomparable to LIFX purple achievement. This may be again due to the UI of the app itself and not necessarily the capability of the bulb itself. Purples are very light, not very saturated in color nor vibrant. The spectrum for purples is cumbersome to achieve as a whole. But you can still get them they just are to me a bit flat. Which is kind of a huge bummer. However this may also be fixed by a UI update to the app. 2/10
Green: the green color spectrum here is pretty good! It’s not the largest part of the color wheel but I’ve been able to get a good neon, light green, and relatively deep green. I do wish it would do like a sage green color or some darker type greens for better ambient usage of this color. However I’d say it’s pretty good thus far. This again is potentially a UI issue with the app and how you select color with the color wheel. 6.5-7/10
Yellows: like the purples this was a weak color among the bunch. Lacking in vibrancy and saturation as well as overall spectrum. Potentially also a UI issue with the color wheel selection. I’d give this 2/10.
So overall, C by GE Direct Connect are great lights, they do connect via wifi as opposed to Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connect ones are just C by GE, if it doesn’t have direct connect in the name then it’s not a wifi version. The Bluetooth versions are trash don’t get them. These are a way better buy! How they compare to LIFX, well they’re a strong competitor but are definitely not quite on their level yet and this mainly has to do with the app not the bulb itself. The bulbs themselves are good, the color selection within the app needs to be looked at and changed. This doesn’t mean they aren’t usable, they’re usable and worth the purchase since LIFX can’t get it together with their supply chain availability. Would I purchase an 1100 lumen c by GE direct connect... yes is priced appropriately. Overall I’d give this product a 4.5/5 stars if I could!

I bought the 2-pack of these bulbs when they were featured as a Deal of the Day. My only regret is that I didn't buy a few more packages. Most of the lamps in my house have 3-way switches and it is pretty much impossible to setup the bulbs that need to be put into pairing mode. With these, I just downloaded the Cync app, screwed in the bulbs, turned on the lamp and followed the pairing instructions - took less than 5 minutes for the first lamp and less than 2 minutes the 2nd time. The colors are great and I like how easy it is to either dim the lamp or turn up the brightness. I think these are a bit pricey at the regular price so I'm waiting until the next time they are on sale to purchase more for the other lamps in my house.

If you want or need smart LED light bulbs that do all shades of white as well as color, these are a good way to go -- especially if they are on sale.
I got these for about half the cost of the other name brand bulb and they have the big advantage of NOT needing a dedicated hub. You can control them with the smartphone app or by voice, with Alexa.
Setup can be challenging with some smart bulbs but I got everything working in less than 30 minutes. (Tip, make sure you let the bulbs complete their complete cycle of flashes when first turned on before hitting "continue." Setup may fail if you do not do this)
The GE C app leaves a lot to be desired but is no worse than most of the other brands. It took me a while to figure out how to get them to be anything other than white (click the small round icon next to each bulb).
Every possible shade of white, from a very yellow warm to cool bright daylight are possible, as well as any color. And they are fully dimmable, of course.
The app allows you to turn the lights off and on at certain times, including sunrise and sunset.
Alexa integration went fairly smoothly but requires you launch and sign onto your Amazon account first. Once this was done, voice control works most of the time using Alexa devices.
If you have smart bulbs from several different manufacturers, Alexa integration makes them easier to control in one place, since you can assign them to rooms, to turn them all on or off at one time by room. Or turn off all bulbs in the house at one time.
Overall, these a good choice if you are in the market for color bulbs.

These bulbs are amazing, when you set them up you can change the colors on your phone seamlessly. And schedule them to what time you want them on. Also the colors are vibrant/bright, but you can change them to your liking. I got these when they were on sale for $10. Overall a really goos option to deck out your office/room or living room.

I like this smart bulbs. I did have a little trouble getting them to connect with my Alexa hub. I downloaded the app for Sync and followed the instructions but it took quite a few tries before they connected. Once they did they worked well with Alexa. But when I got up the next day, they had disconnected. They are still disconnecting regularly. I'm like the colors a lot. But there aren't as many gradients as they claim. Adjusting the colors is a simple color wheel and doesn't really do the possibilities justice. The colors that do work are good, and the dimming options on the white colors works really well. Different types of white light, like sunlight or early morning are absolutely terrific. Good bulbs but check the specifications carefully and maybe go with the matter enabled option for easier hookup.

By far the easiest and best smart bulbs I've used. I've tried Eufy, Meross, and Sengled. These get brighter, dimmer, and respond more consistently than those brands by far. The GE app is also miles better than the others. Linking to Google Home was quick and easy. Will be getting more in the future.

These are one of the best color smart lights on the market. The biggest issue I see is the Cync app needed to define the lights. The app is difficult to use in that MFA uses email ONLY and not a cell phone text message, AND, the overall Cync app design is difficult to navigate. Cync should take a look at the Smart Life app for ease of use tips!

Works pretty good with the sync app. Bought to complete my lamp requirements with couple of backup. App allows automatically turning on/off lights on a schedule. After making schedule changes, it usually takes couple of days to register and work properly. The reason for 4-star.

These smart lights are ok. Once I got them paired they work. It was very difficult; I had to pair them in the same room where my wi-fi modem is located, afterward I was able to move them to my bedroom ceiling fan. The instructions are not plain and it was hard for the app to recognize the connection.

LED bulbs. Not a new thing. There are a lot of different manufacturers out there. These... ok, popped up on sale so I picked some up to try them out.
Setup wasn't particularly difficult. I've got Echo devices (Amazon Alexa,) and once I set up the app, it connected fairly painlessly - other than losing one bulb somehow and having to just ignore that group. Not sure what happened there. (My Echo Studio behaves as a hub. Earlier devices sound like they may need one.)
They're not hard to use - obviously leave the light switch on if you're putting them, say, in a bathroom or somewhere switched, since they won't react without power (do I *really* need to point that out?) if you want to voice control them with Alexa, Google, Apple or whoever, or the app.
The color range is ... ok. Five or six white variations from cool blue "day white" to just "white" to an orangey "warm." And several preset colors, crimson, orange, gold, yellow, purple and more. There isn't a way to select/blend your *own* color (that I could find, at least - I'll own up to missing it if there is,) which should be doable, honestly. They've got a good range of bright/dim, too.
So am I still using them?
Well... no. But not from any fault of the bulbs. I tested them using a bathroom over mirror fixture (I don't really have or need *that* many lamps right now.) Part of the idea was - well, yes, just to play with and test them and get some ideas on what I want to do with them. But part of it was to perhaps have lights I could just turn off when I forget to by voice (versus... ok, I want to be lazy and not get back up out of bed. :) ) Or have them dim at certain times (be a night light, essentially.) With where I *had* them, though - yes, they worked for that, but I couldn't break the habit of just turning them off. Makes it hard to turn on at 3 AM by voice that way.
How would I use them? I could very easily see these being used in ceiling fixtures/lights, for instance, and just being tied to routines, from a simple "lights on/off," to having your smarthome turn them on in the evenings, or even doing what I'd wanted to do, but on a larger scale ("*device name,* night lights on" turning on a dimly lit path to the door or kitchen or what have you, on devices you don't have a smart switch on.)
And yes... the colors can be fun to play with, too.
For most things, a simple LED light - or smart white LED, which is a bit cheaper than these typically - would probably work, honestly. But these do open up a few more options.
(You know, while I'm thinking about it, I almost could have used these in a smart system back when I was taking care of a sick parent. Can't hear them across the house? Have a set up where they can say some keyword and have it light up red in another room where I was working...that would've been nice. But expensive 7-8 years ago.)

Good bulbs held back by an absolutely atrocious app and firmware. This app truly sucks. And I can’t express that enough. If you can connect these to another app and use them that way please do, because the built in app is god awful. Trust me.
