This D-Link camera has pros and cons. A plus is the very wide field of view. A negative is that the camera loses connectivity frequently.

Talking feature does not work well. Sometimes you are unable to connect from your phone.

It's awesome....very clear picture and I love it!!

I ordered this online and it arrived in two days. Setup was simple and relatively quick. I downloaded the app and linked the camera to my Wi-Fi in a matter of seconds then the update took about 15 minutes. I purchased this to be an "elder monitor" for my mother rather than paying a monthly fee for a medical alert device. She uses a walker and has already fallen and broken her hip recently. I check in on her periodically throughout the day while I'm working and the peace of mind knowing that she's okay is priceless. The wide 180° view was a big selling point and allowed me to use just one camera where otherwise I would have needed two. The picture quality is excellent but the sound quality could be better. I communicate with her by cell phone but if she were to fall and couldn't reach the phone just knowing I could communicate with her through the speaker and microphone on the camera is very reassuring. This camera is the perfect elder monitor and could be used for various other applications. I've been using it for about a month and haven't had any issues. It works well and I recommend it.

I have not gotten a chance to really use this like I want to because I've been super busy and out of town but when I do use it for my dog when I'm not hung it works Great.

While the design is good. Set up is not easy! You must download the app for set up and it takes a long time to connect to your network.

Not for the non-tech-savvy. DHCP was very slow to configure, and installation of the micro-SD card wasn't recognized for about a day. Doesn't remember camera settings and switches back and forth randomly between B&W and color. Option changes expect the user to be computer-competent. Requires Flash playback, which most modern browsers won't accept. Chrome won't connect to it at all. Look elsewhere.

1080p Video, Wide viewing range make this a great camera to keep an eye on things that matter to you.

Overal served my purpose well. However I would recommend the next level for better surveillance

Live feedback is amazing, but searching archive via wireless is not recommended.

Not plug-and-play at all, I finally got it hooked up and running after about an hour and a half. Then when I left the home, and check that video out life streaming, I was unable to. Took the product back, in exchange for a Logi camera. It works fantastic!

We recently purchased a winter home. This camera views the inside of our home while we our away. It has motion, voice activation. It has recording capability! We love this camera.

This product was advertised to work with Apple phone but even tech support could not get it to link correctly. Their final answer to was to connect with an android device which I do not own so I returned it

First I bought the DCS-5222L camera but returned it because it did not detect/email sound events and took only 4 second videos. Also, the Google Play app failed the installation, so had to resort to PC and an HDMI cable using Wizard to install. Turned this one in and bought the DCS-2630L camera. After a couple days of testing it works as advertised: beautiful HD videos that are long enough at over a minute (get an SD card); sound detection events (so the house alarm or break-in noise would trigger events); amazing wide angle (no need for a remote pan and tilt feature). The apps running on Google lollypop phones and tablet work fine, as does the iPad app. But, certain features such as email notifications and their activation by motion and sound have to be first set at the dlink web site. And that includes other advanced features such as db levels for sound detection. It would be better if dlink gave these features to the apps. The problem... installation difficulties. The Google apps have missing steps that failed camera detection by the network. The iPad app had the steps, but still failed camera recognition by the wifi network. Tech helper Ford (#AR004620) at the Best Buy dlink helpline (855.354.6562) saved the return of another camera. Over a grueling two-hour session he determined the app problems, took over my PC, and in combination with the dklink web site and the iPad app the camera finally installed. Ford was very much into solving this difficult problem, not giving up, and showing infinite patience. Kudos. Except for the installation issue I would rate this product 5 stars. Don't hesitate to call the hotline if the installation fails... they will walk you through the solution. Hopefully, dlink will address this serious problem in the near future.
