    Maybe an isolated incident but the one we bought would not work. We later bought some arlo cameras.

    At first I was a little apprehensive buying this product after reading all the on-line reviews regarding the troublesome setup procedure. One thing that was mentioned in many of the reviews was that excellent technical support was available. They were right! As expected, the camera would not configure properly after setup. I called technical support and spoke to Rosvel, # Ar004648. Besides being very knowledgeable, he was extremely patient during the whole process. He even went as far as helping me setup up different devices. The whole process took about 40 minutes. It was a pleasure dealing with Rosvel. He did not make you feel inadequate. The camera resolution is fantastic and the audio was clear even if it lagged the video. Overall I am pleased with this product. I would have given it 5 stars if the setup was not so difficult. I do give the technical support team 5 stars!

    Cameras work Great after getting thru the Setup!

    I needed support from Best Buy Support personnel to get the cameras setup. Aldy ID# AR 004246, and Rommel ID# AR004624 did a great job helping me get them setup. After getting the cameras setup, the cameras work well in daylight and at night without light. However, I did have to return 3 cameras due to product defects, which prohibited me from setting them up. This meant that I made 6 calls to get three set up correctly. One camera had an internal humming sound. The second camera would not reset. The third camera had a software problem.

    Consider weakest link in security camera

    If you intend to use any security camera including this one while away from your residence, beware of the weakest link in the setup. If for example your router locks up for any reason you will not be able to access the camera to see how your residence is doing. Visit remotepowerswitch.com to discover a device that can be used to reset a router/modem in case it hangs up. We looked for a DSL router that could be reset or would not hang up to begin with and found none. So in order to have a security camera that will work and a router that can be reset from anywhere you are on earth you must have the ability to fix a hung up router remotely. We have a camera installed but have lost the ability to view into the house because our router is hung up, a remote reset device will cost $100+ increasing the cost of the camera. The camera was great until the router hung.

    First off, buy it!! Great video, good audio, and very easy to use the ap. The firmware is not up to date when you get it so call customer support and they will walk you through everything. Very simple but time consuming. It's ok though as they are super professional and very nice. Took about an hour to update and get configured but it's awesome. Case C6766252 for my support rep to get kudos from her boss!

    I would highly recommend this camera. I was able to install it with the excellent and patient technical phone support. I can easily access it from my iPhone, and I enjoy the peace of mind this equipment affords me.

    I have only had this camera for a couple of weeks, but my experience has been seamless from the beginning. Initial wi-fi setup was easy via WPS and the scan code under the camera. It may have taken 3-5 minutes, at the most. I set up the mydlink app on my phone (so I can remotely watch if my dogs are destroying things), and the super wide angle displays the entire room with very little adjustment. The night vision is also great and produces very clear images. It's working out so well that I'm considering getting another one of these cameras for my back yard. Very highly recommended!

    Not Ready for Prime Time

    I was looking for a wireless security camera and saw Best Buy had a D-Link Pan and Tilt Camera on sale. The reviews were good, but in the process of reading about that particular camera, I saw a new one by D-Link had literally just come out. The D-Link 2630 Ultra Wide View camera. The reviews were impressive and I saw Best Buy was one of the few retailers that was to carry it. So I dropped by Best Buy after work today and as there was only one available and I quickly snatched it up. The camera itself is solid looking and appears well-made. There isn't much in the box besides the camera as it works strictly off a wireless connection. The power cable comes with a micro USB connection on one end and an A/C adapter on the other. The cord is respectfully long. Also inside the box is a customer support number and a barcode to scan in order to setup the camera with your router via WPS. Some drywall mounting hardware is also included. The camera has some nice specs with the 180 ultra wide view being its main selling point. Supposedly there is no distortion on the viewing ends as most wide angled lens tend to produce. Unfortunately I never got to see the camera in action. I downloaded the IPhone app which is free and in a nutshell never could get it to work with the camera. I work day in and day out in IT and so I wasn't prepared for failure. When I couldn't get it to work after a half hour, I swallowed my pride and called tech support. Unlike a lot of technical support today, this technician not only knew his stuff, but spoke clear English so following what he was suggesting was easy. But after 1 hour and 37 minutes we still could not get the camera to talk to the app. This is on top of trying the Android app as well. The camera sends out its own Wi-Fi signal, but apparently very weak and it kept dropping connection during programming to the app. Instead of staying connected so the app could sync up with it, it dropped connection and my IPhone or Android kept connected back to my home network {which was more reliable.} Having now worked 2 hours on this unit, I've decided the unit is not ready for prime time. That is part of the problem with going with the newest technology on the market and this was reflected in the camera's version being A1 and the firmware version 1.00 as well. I plan to return it back to Best Buy tomorrow evening, which thankfully they are very good at accepting returns. In a nutshell, the unit has potential, but it isn't ready for prime time. I commend the technical support for trying, but I'll be looking elsewhere for a more reliable product.

    Anything related to audio on this camera has been a horrible experience. I noticed other users stating there was a loud humm, and I had the same experience. I actually purchased two of them to monitor baby rooms - both had the same problem and are unusable. When the baby would cry, I would hear nothing but that horrible humming. In one iOS app that I used I had to increase the squelch value to 40%. I took video of my kids jumping on their bed screaming and all I could hear was the humming. Very disappointed because the video is good, and I absolutely love the 180 degree viewing area. That was the main reason I purchased the cameras. Really disappointing that these are unusable because of the humming. I'm returning these later today and will need to look for an alternative. Feel free to reply if you have recommendations for alternative cameras that may fit my situation - would be much appreciated.

    Shipping from Best Buy was adequate. Two Cameras ordered and received in perfect condition. Installation instructions are severely lacking. However, when I contacted DLink, their tech support person (Ford Cantillas) stayed with me from beginning to the end, until I was satisfied with the installation of the first camera and had a new account established and linked up. The camera picture quality is excellent and as advertised. I then installed the 2nd camera on my own with good results. The biggest problem with the installation of the first camera and creating my account was due to DLINK server maintenance going on at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised when Ford called me back the following day to see if everything was AOK. I'm very happy with DLINK tech support as well.

    Keep losing connection. Freezes my machine.

    When it's connected the image is great, but it keeps disconnecting and i'm only 2 rooms from my modem. This happens on my Mac and on my iPhone. I can't watch the video because quicktime isn't supported anymore. Once I saw the video on my phone, now it tells me I'm using an unsupported browser. What's the point if I have to be right on top of the image when it happens. I've also had to restart my machine 3 times on this, the first day I've had it. I never would have purchased this item if I'd read the issues I've been having.

    The camera 'quick setup' worked well with no hitches. This gets you most of the features right away. The only thing requiring the advanced setup, explained in the full user manual (available online, not in box), was formatting a microSD card, which is only necessary if you wish to record for later playback. The notifications, via sound and/or motion, are easy to turn on at the touch of the app button. I do this when I leave the house. It's nice to get a notification if anything is going on at the house when there shouldn't be. When I get a notification, I just push the app startup button on my phone and check to have a look. The two-way audio is great too, as I can hear what's going on even if there is something in another room. I can even say hi to my poodle!

    Purchased this new D-Link product DCS-2630L. Had a little difficulty getting the camera configured but with D-Link Agent AR004611 got it configured and connected to my network. Wonderful clear wide-eye picture which will be great for the lake view from the bedroom. It has a redesigned stand that is solid and strong. Very happy with purchase. Purchased a second camera for viewing the changing winter leaves.

    Wanted a good camera. Tried for 4 hours setting up. Should've taken about 2 minutes. When I scanned code, wouldn't work, after repeated use. So I manually put name and password in. For the wifi name, the given password would not work. Working on getting a hold of d link to see what's going on. Once this does get working, hopefully, this was the best for the quality. That is, when it gets working!!
