Constantly goes offline when working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was getting 30 texts a day informing me that my DSC 5020L camera lost connection. I also have a DSC 5222 which works just fine, so internet connection is not the problem. Recently, there was a firmware update for this camera which I hoped would take care of the problem. Now it just stays offline, even though the camera is showing a green light. The dlink support page is very little help. My advice is to go with the better model or try something else altogether.

Creepy Fantastic

Set up is easy once I figured out I could not use my tablet for set up. So saying that, it was easy for anyone. The picture is unbelievable. control and changing the settings is easy. But when you get a motion signal and your family has set it off and your are not prepared to be a peeping tom it is unsettling. Note sent to family that day,to have me turn off motion detector when they plan on being there. Awkward. Great Buy.

Great option for baby monitors!

We just moved from a townhouse where we can easily hear and see eveything to a split level-ish single family home. We bought 2 cameras for the nursery and the playroom. Clarity and reliability is great. We don't need to lug around a monitor specifically designed for this because of the mobile app-- we just downloaded it to our phones and ipad! Installation was easy. I can now see the kids even if I'm at work without having to oblige my husband to turn on his facetime. Definitely worth it!

First exposure to DLink Security Camaras

This camara has the ability to pan and tilt which may come in handy if I decide to move it to an outside location. The cellphone interface is fairly decent but the computer interface is clunky. For some reason it goes through Process Explorer which I don't typically use as a browser and this extends the time to interface substantially. The unit has alerts based on motion and noice (no IR) but there are no sensitivity settings so false alerts are common. It seems the only alerting is via email, so this can fill up your inbox with junk alerts. Not a bad price but features are a bit thin.

Did not suit my needs

Cannot use at night through a window due to glare from the infrared LED's, Daytime is fine. I could not get the email to work, "Cannot connect to server". I have set up many email accounts and automatic connections to accounts but this would not connect with my gmail account. Could not get the motion sensor to activate camera. The only time camera would activate was when I used the mobile app to monitor the camera. I could not get the mydlink monitor to work with Firefox, it would only work with MS Internet Explorer. I am returning and purchasing a full security camera system with multiple outdoor cameras.
