Bought to,use as new age baby monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to act as a video baby monitor. Was easy enough to set up and the picture quality is really pretty good. Loved that it can be viewed from the iPhone app and cost about half of marketed video baby monitors. I would recommend for new parents who want the piece of mind of being able to see the baby in another room. I am sure there are other uses as well.

They have bugs to work out, don't buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It is super slow to connect and days like today I can not even turn the unit off without unplugging it. I have high speed internet and it takes so much time to change settings and I get false hits all the time no matter what I use on settings or where I place unit. The worse part is like I said, slow to connect and sometime impossible to connect. Some of their issues would be easy to correct so I have no idea why they'd put it out there without the simple fixes.

Does not connect to wifi-no support

Following the directions, the light does not turn before unplugging. Tried to contact company, can not reach anyone. Filed a help inquiry, no response. Camera is useless attached to wireless router! Poor (no) customer service.

Worse Camera ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As many of you considered to buy this camera to watch a baby. Well, don't waste your money and your time. The camera get's stuck the whole time, sound fails, image freezes and you won't make it through the night without being kicked out from their cloud app. In other words, this camera-cloud system it's a joke! Their customer service it's a joke too. After spending a few hours and calls, re-installing their software and following all the steps they don't even send you a new working camera nor a money refund. Save time and money and buy any other brand.

Safety and comfort

Also it was very easy to set up. I recommend it. I also like the motion and noise detection notifications. I will get another camera, definetly.

Fantastic Support, and great camera!

In the end, it was a copy and paste problem with my password! He was the best and I would recommend DLink to everybody not only because it was a good product and picture quality good, but also because of the support I received. THANK YOU!

We can watch them while they are sleeping from anywhere in the house. If one of us has to leave, we can check on them while we are at the grocery store. Love this!

Good camera for the price

Lag time is a little bit annoying at times. Good camera for just looking in on a room in the house; without recording, can't use it as a security camera (unless I happen to be looking at the screen at the time). I'll get some use out of it.

overall is ok except email spam w/o motion detect

Picture quality is 480, picture is not that good when background is too bright. I was using it at the front door, when the back lit is too bright, it is difficult to see the face clearly. 3. email of motion detection is working but it is also randomly detect and send spam email. I got over 300-500 email a day. I tried so many different scenario to set the email detection (no sound detection), it there is no help. It seems like everyone facing the same problem in this review board.

Posted .We thank you for your feedback. D-Link suggests that you try downloading and installing the latest firmware version available for the DCS-5020L from support.dlink.com. Next, per page 20 of the User Manual login to the live video configuration settings and turn off or on the audio playback setting. Then goto the Setup Motion Detection settings and adjust the Sensitivity levels as shown on page 31 in the User Manual. If you continue to have issues please contact D-Link technical support at www.dlink.com/support. Thank you for choosing D-Link.

Good Camera

The d-link app works well and I am able to view the camera away from home. The email notifications would be nice if gmail would allow the pass thru. But the camera works well and the app is sufficient.

A cool toy but not for serious surveillance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy, but already at this point came an indication that this is not a serious device/ service for surveillance. I got a message saying that a verification e-mail was sent to me. However, I never received the e-mail and had to re-request it 7-8 times before i finally received one a good while later. Next, I configured the camera for motion detection and e-mail notification. This was very easy and intuitive to set up. Only problem, it does not work. I don't receive any notification e-mails. I bought this camera to be notified if anybody enters my apartment while away, and for that purpose it is useless. However, as a tool for looking at my apartment using my iPhone while away it is nice.

Fantastic camera to make you feel safe & protected

Had trouble connecting to my wireless router. Got me all set up. Thank You "Ford"!! If you need help setting up contact "Ford"!
