    AR004620 cool camera, i have security now and want to expand my system, the remote feature is easy to use. The tech guy from dlink was great to deal with. His name is Ford.

    The an and tilt feature is awesome & the fact that it's wireless and covers about a 360 degree rotation is a major plus! AR004626 does very well in low lighting situations.

    This camera is great, has a tilt and pan capability and you don´t find this in other cameras for the price, although it does not record by itself.

    Don't risk your computer. Virus and poor setup

    This camera came with a virus in the SETUP file and another in the Active X Java control. I backed up to an earlier version of my system, installed a second time, and the virus came back. Customer service was no help. Additionally, SETUP took days! Camera requires UPnP (bet you don't know how to set that UP), and requires SMTP access to your e/mail (Huh, no one does that). If you are stubborn enough to push through these problems, two-way sound requires a speaker on your camera. The entire setup requires several direct Ethernet connections to your router although the camera does use WiFi eventually. The service department is OK, short waits and helpful but untrained technicians. For $70, it was better than playing a video game. The images are OK, and the night vision is quite usable. Cheap enough to use a while and trash when I get a good camera. The camera requires Java for the display so both the Mac and the PC had to be upgraded although it displayed on the IPhone and Android. Applecare fixed the various virus insertions that came with their viewing applet in the Mac. I reverted from Chrome to IE for viewing on the PC after a day of repeated re-installs (each followed by a restore) was unable to get the image visible in Chrome. Most of a morning was consumed by the sound and motion notification portion of the software. For some foolish reason, they use your SMTP server rather than their own to originate the notifications. In addition to being foolish, this just isn't done, normally the notification software developer provides the SMTP service. They save nothing with their implementation and it costs extra setup and maintenance time. Be sure your virus tool is up to date. Understand you are releasing your e/mail password to a company without proper ethical controls, and be patient.

    DCS-5020L REVIEW Can not get the camera to connect to my WiFi. Went and bought an Ethernet cable to hook it direct. Not a huge deal, just wanted it to work correctly. Got it installed where we wanted it, downloaded app on my phone and tablet. Worked fine but couldn't mess with any settings. Again, not a huge deal, I assumed once I got to work and on a desktop I would be able to. WRONG. Will not work with chrome. Very outdated software. Will not detect motion or send alerts so it is useless unless I monitor it 24/7...... if I had the time to do that I would just stay home and monitor myself. Taking it back and going to purchase something else. The reviews I found on this weren't bad until I logged onto the D-LINK website and saw the reviews there. All the same problem. If you just want something while you are at home or more as a monitor to look in as you please its fine but thats about it. Their customer service was easy to deal with but still frustrating at times.

    Buyer Beware

    Purchased this product (D-Link: DCS-5020L) for our baby’s room based on the positive reviews online. Set-up was a nightmare. Over an hour on the phone with tech support which lead to no resolve. FAQ’s, instructions, and tech -support was unable to get this device to work properly and connect to our system. To date, the camera is nothing but an overpriced paper-weight. Tech support had no other options available and would not advise how to properly set up due to our firewall. We have McAfee for our security system on our home computer. They would not advise how to work with or around due to their company policy. Tech-support would not advise any other options beyond getting another computer to facilitate the setup again with no guarantee of a different outcome. With the purchase price of this unit and time involved, I cannot consciously advise anyone to purchase this product based on the lack of ease of use, connectivity & customer support. I would gladly pay more for a more user friendly system along with better customer support. Unfortunately, very frustrated with both the product and customer support from the company. We will be shipping back for a return and purchasing another unit in its place, non D-link associated.

    Excited and then disappointed

    I have 2 cameras and wanted to add a 3rd with the ability to have swivel tilt capability. I was surprised that the swivel path is 180 degrees straight to front to straight to back. With the Antenna in the viewing path. Connected the camera to Ethernet - no problem. Did http to the camera IP then received a java error on the main page when the video was trying to be displayed. "Java security prevents this application from running." Completed setup using the software downloaded from myDlink. Created a myDlink account. At this point the camera is now on WiFi and I can see the picture using myDlink. Night vision picture was very fuzzy - out of focus. I was prompted to update the firmware. Thinking this would fix the Java security issue I successfully updated the firmware. After the update WiFi quit working and I still saw the same Java error after reconnecting to the camera to Ethernet. I tried restarting. resetting, rerun setup but nothing worked. Called DLink support. There was a 30 minute wait. Considering the expected outcome I hung-up after being on hold for 10 minutes. If you elect to purchase this product I suggest you stick with an older java version and do not do the firmware update.

    Don't waste your time

    Purchased this camera on 12/14/14 and it is by FAR the worst camera I have ever used. We were in the market for a camera because our 10 month old infant daughter pulled our Lorex camera down off the wall and it broke when it hit the hard wood floor. The Lorex was not available in store anymore so we decided to try this. I consider myself pretty tech savy and have many home integration wifi accessories thoughout the home, but this camera and company is aweful! After spending, I kid you not, 4 hours trying to connect the camera first wirelessly, then after several failed attempts, trying to connect it via ethernet connection (wired) it still will not connect to the internet. If this doesn't have you frustrated enough, try going to DLink's website, it offers little to no help with no contact information even for support. Finally, I am getting sick of the Best Buy store where I purchased this because it seems like every time I go in to the store, it takes at least 15 minutes for an associate to help me, let alone the lack of check out lines that are never sufficient.... It is going back tomorrow!

    Big dissapointment, had high hopes

    Same problem as other reviewers, difficult to set up, postage stamp sized instructions are useless, hours with customer support, keeps dropping off of network, endless 'false alarms' during periods it manages to stay on network. I am using this on a Mac wireless network. Maybe it works better with a PC. I hope Best Buy will take it back, I still need a security camera network. I wish I would have read reviews before I purchased.

    Horrible Video & Audio Quality

    I was looking for surveillance camera that I could monitor from my iPhone, and I decided to try this one out. The setup was pretty easy on a Mac. There are several issues with this camera thought; bad video & audio quality, WiFi loosing signal, load noise when rotating camera, and the interface is pretty slow to respond. I paid $120 for the camera and honestly wouldn't have paid even $30 for this. The major issue is the video quality; it's just horrible.

    Waste of time

    Big problems trying to set up. Keep getting error "Java plugin not avail." Tried many different ways trying to set up from Ipad (Mac) to Camera, from Destop (Windows) to Camera. Camera would not communicate to router thus couldn't get on line. Wasted 3 hours trying to get camera to function ended up taking back to BestBuy.

    MyDlink site is a failure

    Attempted to register with several PC's. No luck! My Email was always Invalid. Downloaded mylink App to elink lite. Dlink lite was suppose to make it easier to connect. This is false. Dlink Corp is the problem, not the camera. Support SUCKS! Tried to contact thru email and there was no response. The Email I left below for questions is listed as INVALID by mylink?

    Do Not Buy This Product

    No video. No sound. No color. Only takes black and white still pictures. I called 1-877-453-5465 and the Customer Service person was on the phone with me for 90 minutes and could not figure out the problems with this Network Camera. I needed 6 of these cameras but I will buy a different brand.
