I played the original dark souls on the XBOX 360 and loved but the game had its problems, such as delayed inputs, clunky combat and of course the infamous Blighttown frame drop. The PS4 remaster looks and feels great. The frame rate drops have fixed which makes the game run at a constant 60fps. The combat feels smooth which allows for a better experience. Whether you are a returning player or new to the series, I definitely recommend you pick this up.

I love this game. I saw this game at E3 back in 2011 before it came out and I've played through it several times. Now I have it uprezzed on the PS4. So much fun, so much nostalgia and if you have never played this before, you need to see why it created its own genre.

Decent HD-make, but sadly they didn't give it the Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin treatment. Meaning that this is the same game you played last gen just in higher resolution and framerate. If you are a fan then I think it's worth it just for that alone but if you are new then this is a great place to start the Soulbourne series. If you were not a fan then this won't sway you. Get it.

The soul franchise is well know for its difficulty . However, if you take a look back to the game during 1980s, it is almost the same. Dark souls need some strategies and practices. Also the art is very attractive

A good remaster of a great game. There aren't many changes over the original. The framerate was upped to 60 and there were some appreciated quality of life changes. They also adjusted the textures and lighting effects a bit too.

This is an incredible game with a terrifying world to explore. Finding new pathways and collectibles feels highly rewarding, as does defeating a boss after countless tries. The game mechanics are well designed, death is punishing but in most cases feels fair as I know it's my fault and that I would have survived had I done things differently. The game is not much of a remaster however. It runs at a consistent 60fps but it looks about the same as ever otherwise, with some minor improvements to various things, however I don't have a well trained eye for those sorts of things (that being said, I don't think the average consumer necessarily does either). Finally, trying to connect to play with friends can be a huge hassle as the game gives no clear indication whether you're even doing what's necessary or if any connection is trying to be established.

I really love dark souls. This game is brutal so not everyone will like it but it's very rewarding to just overcome obstacles and kick some serious tail! You are going to die a lot! You are going to get angry too but if you learn how the game works and put in the time and effort you will be greatly rewarded. Remaster is silky smooth I believe it's 60 fps. Would highly recommend!

The original release of Dark Souls was already highly regarded, but this new remastered release fixes the frame rate issues of the original and offers improved visuals. Blight Town isn't quite as much of a chore at 60fps.

It is only fair to give this one a proper hd upgrade since the other 2 games in the series are already on PS4. Plays like the original but with a better frame rate. Especially in one particular locale in the game.

Yes this game is hard and not for everyone, but in my opinion if you are looking for a deep challenge you owe to yourself to give it chance. It's all here, a great story, good graphics and engaging game play.

I played the original PS3 version and this remaster is greatly improved graphically speaking. The bump from 30 to 60 FPS (compared to the original) makes the game feel much more fluid and easier in some ways.

Dark Souls was a revolutionary game back in 2011. But this remaster is better than ever with 4K, 60fps, dedicated servers, and increased multiplayer count. This is truly the definitive way to enjoy Dark Souls.

When the original dark souls came out, I probably got 50% through it and gave up. This time around I’m way passed that point and I’m loving it. This game is a classic now that started a massive franchise and copycats that followed its gameplay. The remaster adds 60fps on console, which is amazing and the frustrating blight town area in the game runs smooth like butter now. You’re going to get a long 50+ hour story mode with dark souls, with amazing environments, massive bosses, gear grinding to your hearts content, and a deep PvP battle world. Do yourself a favor and pick this game up if you’ve never experienced it, but also pick it up because it already has a huge fan base that are still playing it even after 7 years.

Don't be intimidated by anyone saying it's too tough. It's not. I'm not terribly good at games and I've played through it multiple times on several consoles, now with 2 Platinums and a 100 percent achievement rating on PC. The reason? Because it's one of my favorite games of all time, although I will always prefer its predecessor Demons Souls. It takes patience and practice, and it IS tough at times. Just not TOO tough as long as you realize the difficulty is meant to be a teaching experience rather than the normal difficulty in games which is purely meant to punish, such as arbitrarily lowering your health and raising the health of enemies, etc. I can't say enough about this game or its creator.

This is a great game, hard but fair that once you beat a boss or finish an area it feels so good. Its so rewarding, but you have to learn patterns. Great remake, great graphics, great game!

Great game and a fantastic update to it, but there isn't much changed to the original. That's good and bad as if you have played through it you get a smoother framerate and higher resolution but little else new. A no brainer if you haven't played it though (unless you aren't fond of tough but fair games).

Played DS1 forever and still bought it to play in in HD. Great game that started a whole genre (if you forget Demon Souls). This is my second favorite after DS3.

Dark Souls is a great game, but it's extremely hard, so not for everyone. This version is really just a port, not a remaster, as FPS is the only real improvement.

The same Dark Souls we all know and love except with 60fps. It's not quite as challenging anymore due to the lack of technical issues, and that's a blessing.
