Make sure they have any passwords you use before leaving your machine to have the data moved. I didn't know they would need so much, which required two trips. The work went smoothly and the data was transferred.

My computer's motherboard crashed, so Geek Squad backed up my data on an external hard drive and then put it back for me when my computer returned with pictures and music missing. They did a great job and all is well!~!

Took two tries but did finally get all the data from my old desktop to the new desktop and it seems to be all there and in the right place, maybe just a misunderstanding on what I wanted transferred over to the new desktop.

Overall I am happy with the data transfer from my old laptop to the new one. I certainly could not have done it as efficiently. The one shortcoming of this process is the inability to transfer my personal programs that I've acquired over the years. I was made aware of this upfront but it has created somewhat of a hardship for 2 reasons. First, there is not a DVD Writer with the new laptop so I had to purchase an external device to load my missing programs. Secondly, I don't have all the DVD's for all the programs so I will have to purchase new versions of those. This catch up process has created a lot of time consumption that I wasn't planning on.

My computer had been hacked. I called and got a remote service company (was recommended to me by Microsoft Company). They "fixed" the problem at that time. Then I had another problem and they said I would need to pay more money. I took my computer to Geek Squad. The service was great. They explained the error message I was getting. They backup my files and cleaned up the extra files off of computer. They got some of files off of backup and I had discs on others so that reload would be as clean as possible. Computer is FASTER than it has ever been. I also got the Webroot security loaded on. I did have to call because a scam message popped up. They walked me thru how to get rid of it without harming my computer. Very happy.

Not being adept at transferring file/data from an old MacBook to a new one, this service was invaluable for me. However, I thought the price for this service was a bit steep.

Geeks did what was asked for set-up and transfer of data. Very efficient! Brought in the morning and done by mid afternoon. Knowledgeable, friendly & professional. Answered dumb questions without rolling their eyes!

Best Buy's Geek Squad in store data back up service was great. Got all my data on my hard drive backed up from my laptop that dropped onto the ground. They helped me transfer all the data to another portable backup hard drive.

Geek squad members have been great: patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. Only concern was my computer was not ready as promised-48 hours. They told me to come back the next day, but it was actually completed 2 hours later. Points for calling me immediately upon completion. Transferred requested info, but have not found specific word documents on new computer. 24/7 Geek Squad service has been GREAT too: short waits, easy access and return calls within promised time frame. That plan was money WELL-SPENT! The GEEK SQUAD has come a LONG WAY from my previous experiences.

My data was successfully transferred from old to new laptop. Hopefully, the passport hard drive I purchased will allow me to do it myself the next time it is necessary.

Agent helped me get my device fixed and kept me updated I didnt have to wait for them to transfer anything it was all done when i got there it was a easy show up pick up my laptop and i was back to work. I do not remember the name of the gentleman that helped me but he was the best if he sees this thanks !

Data backup & recovery of my old desktop hard drive wa nice so I could transfer all files & music to new laptop. Costly/expensive but probably worth it to save photos that hasn't been backed up for 6 months.

The agents retrieved my data from a crashed hard drive. Expensive, but successful.

I purchased my Geek Squad contract when I was assured that my two sons would be included even though they were in Orlando and I am in Palm Beach Fl. When my son went to have his old cell phone data transferred to the new one , he was told that my family plan could not be used. If this happens again, I will ask for the remainder of my contract to be cancelled . On the other hand, when the Geek squad set up my new iPhone watch, they did an excellent job. Based on that Geek Squad member, you are 5 stars.

THE TECH AT THE STORE DID AN AWESOME JOB BACKING UP ALL MY MEMORIES. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. THE COST WAS A LITTLE MUCH, BUT WELL WORTH IT.

Everything that I needed from my old hard drive was transferred and easy to find on my new laptop. The agent was very friendly and the process was completed very quickly, so I wasn't without a computer for more than a couple days.
