Geek Squad staff has been invaluable to us. As a single parent who lost touch with tech over the last decade or so, I cannot express how helpful it is to be able to have a team so patient when it comes to explaining what issues we may be having with various tech devices. I had a laptop sitting for very long as I put things off and hoped I could figure it out for myself. When all I needed to do was set up an appointment and walk in to learn more about what was actually happening & how I can be more productive with my computer on top of fixing the issue. Thanks guys.

My data was successfully transferred from old to new laptop. Hopefully, the passport hard drive I purchased will allow me to do it myself the next time it is necessary.

I purchased my Geek Squad contract when I was assured that my two sons would be included even though they were in Orlando and I am in Palm Beach Fl. When my son went to have his old cell phone data transferred to the new one , he was told that my family plan could not be used. If this happens again, I will ask for the remainder of my contract to be cancelled . On the other hand, when the Geek squad set up my new iPhone watch, they did an excellent job. Based on that Geek Squad member, you are 5 stars.

Data backup & recovery of my old desktop hard drive wa nice so I could transfer all files & music to new laptop. Costly/expensive but probably worth it to save photos that hasn't been backed up for 6 months.

My computer had been hacked. I called and got a remote service company (was recommended to me by Microsoft Company). They "fixed" the problem at that time. Then I had another problem and they said I would need to pay more money. I took my computer to Geek Squad. The service was great. They explained the error message I was getting. They backup my files and cleaned up the extra files off of computer. They got some of files off of backup and I had discs on others so that reload would be as clean as possible. Computer is FASTER than it has ever been. I also got the Webroot security loaded on. I did have to call because a scam message popped up. They walked me thru how to get rid of it without harming my computer. Very happy.

Geeks did what was asked for set-up and transfer of data. Very efficient! Brought in the morning and done by mid afternoon. Knowledgeable, friendly & professional. Answered dumb questions without rolling their eyes!

Best Buy's Geek Squad in store data back up service was great. Got all my data on my hard drive backed up from my laptop that dropped onto the ground. They helped me transfer all the data to another portable backup hard drive.

I purchased a HP tower with Windows 11 at Best Buy because of Windows 10 being phased out. I had the Geek Squad set it up and also asked them to install some of the programs that that were on my old tower. I am very happy with the work that was done by the Geek Squad and also with the new HP tower. It's so much faster! The Geek Squad agent also courteously answered all my questions.

I was disappointed with my Geek Squad experience. When I purchased my laptop, I was told the data transfer would take one hour and that I could just wait while it was completed. After making an appointment, I was then told it would actually take three days. When I questioned this, I was told the salesman had given me the wrong information. I left my laptop anyway, but when I picked it up, none of my data had been transferred. I specifically asked for a full transfer from my old laptop to the new one, but they told me they couldn’t do it because my data was in the cloud. If that was the case, I could have easily done it myself. Instead, I paid $100 and was without my laptop for three days. The only explanation I was given was that I could get $50 back and make another appointment so they could log into my iCloud and transfer it for me. Instead, I went home and did it myself in a fraction of the time. My suggestion: Geek Squad should check the customer’s laptop first, then provide accurate instructions and expectations before charging for services. On a positive note, I love my new laptop—it works great. But my Geek Squad experience was confusing, frustrating, and not worth the cost.

THE TECH AT THE STORE DID AN AWESOME JOB BACKING UP ALL MY MEMORIES. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. THE COST WAS A LITTLE MUCH, BUT WELL WORTH IT.

Geek Squad in Frisco TX transferred data from my dead HP onto my new Dell. So far, so good. After I got both pieces home, I found that Geeks Squad forgot to include the stand for the new Dell. I drove a half hour back, retrieved the stand, and the tech said, "Sorry about that." I felt that I was entitled to some compensation for the inconvenience. I wrote a (polite) letter to the manager, and within an hour was offered a 15.00 credit for the data transfer. That's fine, but I think that Geek Squad should empower it's people to offer this immediately rather than me having to ask. Other than that, I am satisfied with an otherwise job well done.

Old computer only worked intermittently due to a failing motherboard. Geek squad technicians were able to recover all data.

Everything that I needed from my old hard drive was transferred and easy to find on my new laptop. The agent was very friendly and the process was completed very quickly, so I wasn't without a computer for more than a couple days.

I changed cell providers. During the process there were issues with data transferring. I was very afraid of losing text messages and contacts. The Best Buy team was able to correctly secure and transfer all of my old data to my new cell.
