It was nice to go in have the squad transfer all my files to my new apple from my old hp. and show me a lil about how apple works differently, very easy.

In my area there have been frequent power outages, and while I use power surges, I found they one I used for my PC just wasn't enough and eventually my PC couldn't be salvaged. I bought my new PC, had the Geek Squad do a data transfer, and went with their suggestion of using a power back up surge protector for my PC and monitor alone. I decided to purchased one for the computer, one for the modem, printer, phone, and then one dedicated to my laptop. Each were a bit more expensive, but we've had two electrical outages and I'm happy to say I've had zero difficulties with my electronics after installing and using these! They are worth the extra money!!!!

The Geek squad was great in transferring the data from my old computer to my new one. They did it in two days which was quicker than I expected and they were very helpful in getting me going on my new computer. They are the best.

Bought a new HP laptop when my windows 8...finally was uncompatible and they transferred all my data and photos onto flashdrive, scrubbed and destroyed the old one. Secure and safe way to do it at BESTBUY!

This is my first time using the Geek Squad and I can tell you it was simple. When I told theses guys that I was not really that up to date with laptops they were very understanding and made it so easy to understand. Great price. Great product. Great performance. Got rid of an old clunker and love the speed and ease of use. Geek Squad was very helpful in transferring files and getting things going.

I could turn on my computer and was afraid I lost years of work. The Geek Squad transferred all my files onto a harddrive and saved all my work. They even recycled my old computer for me.

I was helped by a geek member who used language I could understand and who did not treat me like an unteachable customer. I was able to follow and apply what I learned so thank you for your patience.

I'm very thankful to the Geek Squad for being able to extract the files/data from my laptop that died. My only complaint is that instead of notifying me that they were finished (as they told me they would), they sent me an email saying I needed to call them in order for them to continue the ticket. I called the number and was on hold for approximately 30 minutes and finally got someone at a Best Buy call center who had me detail the issue only to tell me he needed to transfer me to another department. After holding for another 5-10 minutes, the new person was also not located at the Best Buy to which I'd taken my laptop and asked me what the issue was. I told that person I'd already detailed the reason I was calling and didn't feel as if I needed to do so again. All I was trying to do was call Geek Squad at my local Best Buy as they asked me to. He told me I should just go to the local store. When I went to the store, they told me they were finished. I'm a direction-follower by nature. Instead of sending me an email saying they needed me to call them so they could finish completing the service, they should've sent me something just saying they were finished and I could pick it up. They made something very difficult that should've been very easy.

Of all the Best Buy stores we encountered over the years, La Quinta is the best. Always great service for our needs with TVs, soundbars, etc. Setting up our new laptop is a big relief; leave it for the Geek Squad to handle. This is so worth making an appointment; let the experts help.

I love the Geek Squad, and have used them for several in-home installations and general computer service, and have never been disappointed. Till now. While the backup and transfer went fine, the Geek assigned to explain things to me and walk me through the setup of my new computer was clearly not up to the task... I seemed to know more than he did. I asked him if he was new, and he said no, so I asked for a different Geek, who told me the 1st Geek was, in fact, new. 2nd Geek was terrific, as usual, and I left happy, but can't give 5 stars because of that 1 disappointment.

I took my tower computer in to be diagnosed for a problem They checked it out called me at home said I had 5 different virus' on my computer. Your store had a great sale on a smaller desktop computer we bought it and had Geek Squad remove all the virus' and put my important to me documents and pictures on my personal external hard drive so they are safe then format my tower they also went above and beyond one step further and reinstalled my Windows 10 and other items I had originally on my computer I was impressed that they would do it without being asked, Good Job Geeks and my tower is now being saved for a future disaster at home,

The gentleman and lady who took in my poor MacBook, my Time Machine, and my brand new MacBook Air understood the problems that needed to be dealt with very clearly. The gentleman who did the work on my machines, Josiah, was a pleasure to work with. He stayed in touch with me by phone, described issues in a way I could understand, and ultimately achieved what we both thought impossible: a complete transfer of all my stuff from the crashing MacBook and the corrupted Time Machine. And it cost what the first 2 Geekers toid me it would! No surprise charges, no overages - what a wonderful surprise! I cannot recommend them more highly!

Helped in selecting a new computer to fit my needs. Answered all my questions regarding my new computer and helped familiarize me with all the options available on the computer.

I needed to backup my old computer on a hard drive and also transfer all info from the old computer to the new Lenovo computer I purchase. the geek squad on site did and OUTSTANDING job with the transfer- even my shortcuts were saved in the transfer and file folders. I was a bit skeptical about this transfer (cost) but after reassurance by the store team- I have no regrets. in the past I have only used the online geek squad as the instore was not good. the instore geek squad transfer was seamless and done in a very timely manner. I will use in store geek squad again without hesistation (at this store- bucktown- Chicago)

I had to back up my computer because I was having problems. Geek Squad was able to move the items from my old computer onto the new external hard drive.

They were great in backing up all my data from my old PC to my Laptop and also onto a removable hard drive. Very professional and helpful
