Had trouble with my previous computer last year. The staff were amazing in helping me gather the data from my previous computer and placing it on not only my new computer but also a back up drive.

I'm very thankful to the Geek Squad for being able to extract the files/data from my laptop that died. My only complaint is that instead of notifying me that they were finished (as they told me they would), they sent me an email saying I needed to call them in order for them to continue the ticket. I called the number and was on hold for approximately 30 minutes and finally got someone at a Best Buy call center who had me detail the issue only to tell me he needed to transfer me to another department. After holding for another 5-10 minutes, the new person was also not located at the Best Buy to which I'd taken my laptop and asked me what the issue was. I told that person I'd already detailed the reason I was calling and didn't feel as if I needed to do so again. All I was trying to do was call Geek Squad at my local Best Buy as they asked me to. He told me I should just go to the local store. When I went to the store, they told me they were finished. I'm a direction-follower by nature. Instead of sending me an email saying they needed me to call them so they could finish completing the service, they should've sent me something just saying they were finished and I could pick it up. They made something very difficult that should've been very easy.

My desktop crashed after a power outage. Geek Squad backed up my files (since I hadn't) reloaded all my programs and got me operative. Their service is worth every penny!.

Did the best they could with my computer situation. Were very open with how much the transfer could cost and allowed plenty of time to make the final decision on whether to send the computer for the final service or not.

I had originally come into the store to get the new Webroot to replace our Kaspersky that the Geek Squad no longer supports. I had not done a backup of my data and pictures so for a cost that was worth it to us not to loose our stuff I had them do it. But I did find out that since I have Geek Squad coverage on security, software and my hardware they now will cover it within my coverage. Now I will always be covered, they are great! I have talked some of my friends into getting the coverage and actually talked a person in the store in Riverdale into getting coverage will I was waiting to be helped!!

I had to back up my computer because I was having problems. Geek Squad was able to move the items from my old computer onto the new external hard drive.

My laptop had died and wouldn't boot up. Took it in to have them retrieve any data file. They completely it a day earlier then projected. Service was professional and friendly.

The agent transferred my programs from my laptop to my new computer.He also helped me find certain fiies,and created short cuts for my programs.I would not be able to do this myself.

My geek at the Deer Park Best Buy was awesome, could not be happier. My sales associate was knowledgeable and helped me select the best computer for my home. It was my Geek that closed the sale. He explained how he could transfer everything from my current computer to my new one securely and he explained the process so well that my stress and anxiety vanished. The Geek squad took care of everything and had my new computer ready in less time than expected. When I plugged in my new computer it was ready to go to work, all of my programs and files present and functional. I highly recommend this service.

Amber did a great job transferring all my data over from my old, outdated MacBook Air to my new one. She was very knowledgeable, kind and patient with me answering all my questions. I greatly appreciated all her help.

Agent did a good job in transferring my data/apps from my old Ipad Air 4 to my new Ipad Pro 11 M4, though not all were transferred. I have to download again apps and install them.

I needed all my data removed from one computer and installed on the new one, computer wiped so that I could give it to a granddaughter. Everything was accomplished quickly, 4 days before date promised! Very quick, knowledgeable service. Received updates as work progressed. I had previously attempted to do on ,y own, the programs I had purchased were far too slow.

The Geek Squad was so helpful, patient and especially informative as to what needed to be done in light of my HP computer crashing from old age. I purchased a new Dell Computer from Best Buy and the men had everything transferred by early afternoon the next day. Additionally, I couldn't find my Outlook on the new computer and brought it back for further assistance. Another Geek Squad employee found that I needed to purchase another software in order for the new computer to accept Outlook. Everything worked perfectly! Thank you!

The Geek squad was great in transferring the data from my old computer to my new one. They did it in two days which was quicker than I expected and they were very helpful in getting me going on my new computer. They are the best.

Although the transfer seems to be successful, there was a big disconnect between the price and process I was quoted when I made my purchase and when I took my laptop to the Geek Squad. The GS attributed it to the lack of knowledge of the salesmen who assisted me. I was very disappointed in the communication, lack of transparency and finger pointing.

Of all the Best Buy stores we encountered over the years, La Quinta is the best. Always great service for our needs with TVs, soundbars, etc. Setting up our new laptop is a big relief; leave it for the Geek Squad to handle. This is so worth making an appointment; let the experts help.

My experience with McKay was exceptional. He found difficult storage issues and corrected with detailed instructions to the recovery team. He listened to what was important and skillfully corrected it.

I used the Geek Squad service to transfer the data from an old laptop hard drive to the new one I purchased. The process itself was quite easy and the price wasn't too bad. When we got the new laptop, all of our files were there and in the same place they had been on the old laptop. My only complaint would be about the communication with regards to completion of the service. While I got an email saying it was essentially in queue, I never got an email that it was completed and pretty much just had to go in to the store and hope it was done, which it was.

Bought a new HP laptop when my windows 8...finally was uncompatible and they transferred all my data and photos onto flashdrive, scrubbed and destroyed the old one. Secure and safe way to do it at BESTBUY!
