Unfortunately, Dell desktop PC power card failed. I removed the hard drive and brought it to BestBuy store. Had to leave it for 24-48 hours for technician to transfer content to my new Dell BestBuy desktop PC. He assured me that all items would be wiped from their server a short time after the transfer to protect my security and privacy. It wasn't an inexpensive process but it was effective.

They were able to successfully transfer my data and the turnaround was super quick. I only do 4 starts because if you happen to have the tool to convert whatever type of drive you have into USB and the ability to remove your hard drive then you could do this yourself for around 20$ and will save you 80$+, but in this case didn't have the particular tool for the drive and was in a rush and they were able to get it done for me!

They did a great job extracting my files from my fried computer and transferring the data to new equipment, fast and efficient.

This was another awesome experience with the G-Squad. They were very professional an efficient with me an my time. Job well done. ✔

Computer was checked for viruses and new hard drive was installed. Dats was also transferred from old to new hard srive.

Had this External Hard-Drive for about a month now. It seems to be working great giving peace of mind for backing up documents on PC.

Prior to purchasing my new laptop, my computer tower decided to suffer a hardware malfunction. Thankfully I had backed up most of my files, etc a few weeks earlier. But I was concerned that some of my files, music etc may not have backed up successfully. I got this service in hopes that everything could be recovered and transferred to my new laptop. When I picked it up sure enough everything was there. This was a major time saver for me and am thrilled they were able to get this done.

So friendly, easy to deal with. The back up and install in my new computer was done quickly, ahead of schedule. Will definitely use them again.

I was disappointed with my Geek Squad experience. When I purchased my laptop, I was told the data transfer would take one hour and that I could just wait while it was completed. After making an appointment, I was then told it would actually take three days. When I questioned this, I was told the salesman had given me the wrong information. I left my laptop anyway, but when I picked it up, none of my data had been transferred. I specifically asked for a full transfer from my old laptop to the new one, but they told me they couldn’t do it because my data was in the cloud. If that was the case, I could have easily done it myself. Instead, I paid $100 and was without my laptop for three days. The only explanation I was given was that I could get $50 back and make another appointment so they could log into my iCloud and transfer it for me. Instead, I went home and did it myself in a fraction of the time. My suggestion: Geek Squad should check the customer’s laptop first, then provide accurate instructions and expectations before charging for services. On a positive note, I love my new laptop—it works great. But my Geek Squad experience was confusing, frustrating, and not worth the cost.

The Geek Squad recovered my data from a crashed hard disk. This was the first time I've used them and I found them professional and pleasant. They explained the process and my options. I was pleased with their service.

First I like the new set up at the Brookfield Store in WI for Geek Squad drop of and pick up. It's much nicer and the customer can sit while talking with the geek squad. The Technicians I had for drop off and Pick up were great. Antonio was the technician for Pick up. I have worked with him before and he is excellent. Spent the time I needed for review of work done and help with Google Chrome install. Informed me if any more questions feel free to come back. Antonio has excellent customer service skills. The Geek Squad looked to see what was wrong with my pc tower & found the motherboard fried. So they backed it up for me.

Excellent in store service to set up and explain my new computer to me and the transfer of files from my older computer to the new one was seamless.

I had a hard drive fail and had a large amount of information I wanted to retrieve. I may have been able to do the job myself but lack the tools and recent experience. I was hesitant about using the Geek Squad but needed to get it done. The process couldn't have been any easier. The people with whom I dealt were knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The disk backup and recovery were completed on time and in a very satisfactory manner. Should the need arise, I will definitely use them again.

Easily able to pass on the data from one computer that was old and going to recycle.
