While it may seem simple that a backup of a hard drive will perhaps be a "mirror copy", that is not the case with the Geek Squad service. I brought a terabyte drive in which I had for the Squad to use for the back up of my system hard drive (as it had some serious errors and needed to be reformated with a windows reinstallation). The service was complete, in that everything was copied. But the files are put all over the place on the new drive. Multiple document areas (default, owner, administrator, all users, my documents, etc....) and there are pieces of my copied drive all over the place. Not a simple thing to click to that drive to find even the main "my documents" file folder that references my items - it is 4 levels deep on the drive. This could be done more simply - or at least, I would hope that the associate would take some time to explain how/why they did it the way they did when I picked it up (not provided any explanation). But they did copy the drive, which is what I needed at the time, so for that I am thankful for the service.

I purchased my new HP desktop because my laptop would not work any longer. The tech was able to retrieve and transfer all my files from my laptop to my new desktop within a day. This was a great purchase and would recommend doing this with every computer.

After purchasing my phone. I had to go to the geek squad to transfer my contacts and pictures. He did it in a timely manner and with a smile. He also made recommendations about my phone. His advice was precise .

My computer would not startup. I brought it in to the Geek Squad for help. They were able to get it running and did a complete backup onto a external hard drive. This saved all of my information so they could repair my computer and reload all of my information. I did not lose anything.

Geek Squad transferred my data from my old Windows 7 computer to a new Windows 10 computer. I have no experience with Widows 10; the Geek Squad set up my new computer so the Home page looks just like my Windows 7 Home page did. It's much easier to work with something I'm familiar with!

After my data transfer and I was home I did not understand or was able to access my data after the Geek Squad re-entered the data back onto my hard drive but I retuned and the assistance I receive was phenomenal. The agent resolve and correct the issue after explaining what had happen.

Our initial contact at purchase was not smooth or good with our product. A lot of confusion on what could or could not be done, Lots of computer input and little service Service go very good once we called and had someone take over our computer. From that point very happy.

This Geek Squad person spent a large amount of time transferring data from my very old, malfunctioning iPad to the one I just purchased at Best Buy. This task required him to research how to transfer some of the data. His patience, knowledge, and perseverance allowed me to have everything I needed on my new iPad.

I encountered a glitch with the data transfer; which was corrected with a second visit. When I picked up my new computer,the agent showed me that the files had been transferred, but we neglected to open any. He asked if I wanted the old tower - I said "no" (it was ten years old). He then asked if I wanted the hard drive. I figured that sounded important , so I said "sure". When I got home and tried to open a document, I saw nothing but gibberish. The files were unreadable. Files from my brothers estate; files containing minutes of meetings - over 350 mailing labels (needed in the upcoming months). HAD I NOT KEPT THE HARD DRIVE, THE FILES THAT BECAME CORRUPT DURING THE TRANFER WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST FOREVER. My advise is this, ALWAYS INFORM THE CUSTOMER TO RETAIN THE HARD DRIVE (GIVE NO OPTION) OR...HAVE THE GEEK SQUAD FILE IT FOR 30 DAYS. Other than this glitch, I am extremely happy with the agents and the service.

I bought my new computer and I'm not very computer savvy so this was A good deal for me as I did not now how to transfer my data from my old computer to my new computer on my own. The customer service people were very helpful in showing me how to find the data that was transferred into my new computer.

The transfer went pretty good. They didn't copy all of the data the first time so I had to go back but they eventually got everything copied.

I had the unfortunate incident of losing all of my information when my HP Laptop crashed. The Bridgewater Geek Squad: Bobby, Chris and Nick all were very helpful and courteous on my multiple visits. I tried getting a new HP, by after a week changed to a MAC. They helped me every step of the way. My biggest concern is the inability to reach the store directly. The automated answering by machine is difficult and the wait is long.

Fred assisted me at the Duluth, GA, store in selecting My Passport and I also let the Geek Squad perform the backup. He was very efficient and told me to call the Geek Squad to get Kaspersky removed from our laptops and to replace with one of two recommended anti-virus programs. I am choosing Webroot.

Good customer service. Adequate price for data transfer.

My Geek squad agent quickly realized how technologically challenged I am and restored my recovered data to my new machine while I shopped in the store. It was an immense help as I doubt that I would have known how to do this myself. Thanks, Geek Squad, for making my day!

I accidentally knocked over my ASUS all-in-one desk top computer. It was totally destroyed. I was worried about my data stored in Excel and Word. The Geek Squad was able to retrieve everything. It was a huge relief! My membership with the Geek Squad has been extremely beneficial many other times as well!

I brought a broken computer into the store because it had a virus attack. Because I was contemplating a new purchase in the near future, I took this opportunity upgrade. They removed the hard drive and got my data off. I came in and interected with them - great knowledge of computer software.

As I am a Total Tech member, I used this service to transfer everything from my Pixel 2 XL to my new Pixel 4 XL. With Best Buy's expertise everything moved over easily. When I left the store I was completely up and running. Thank you, Best Buy Mobile.

My hubby got his christmas present early and he needed everything transfered from his old IPAD to the new one and I did not want to even attempt it. So He went back to best buy and talk to the geek squad and two days later he has up and running. He is very happy and that's what counts!
