The Geek squad examined my old PC and advised me that a new mother board was needed and, based on the age of the PC, it was not a viable solution to my problem. Once I purchased a new PC, the Geek squad transferred the info from my old hard drive to the new hard drive and it was completed in a matter of a few hours.

After talking with a Geek Squad representative, I decided to drop a service contract that I had with another company and establish one with Best Buy. It was not only cheaper but the service was better and the reps more knowledgeable. The backup proceeded as scheduled. They were great.

I brought a broken computer into the store because it had a virus attack. Because I was contemplating a new purchase in the near future, I took this opportunity upgrade. They removed the hard drive and got my data off. I came in and interected with them - great knowledge of computer software.

I am very grateful for the Geek Squad. I was able to get my data transferred from a non-working device to a brand new portable device. I didn't think it could be done but they were successful and saved tons of my photography work.

My hubby got his christmas present early and he needed everything transfered from his old IPAD to the new one and I did not want to even attempt it. So He went back to best buy and talk to the geek squad and two days later he has up and running. He is very happy and that's what counts!

My Geek squad agent quickly realized how technologically challenged I am and restored my recovered data to my new machine while I shopped in the store. It was an immense help as I doubt that I would have known how to do this myself. Thanks, Geek Squad, for making my day!

The Geek Squad did a quick and seamless data transfer to my new computer. It was very nice not to have to do this myself as I had other unrelated issues that needed my attention.

My old HP died I bought it at Best Buy in 2007 and it finally died so I bought a new HP from Best Buy but I wanted my pictures and important data from my old computer but was unable to even get it to boot up. They were able to get all the items off my computer and but them on a jump drive for me. Great Service

The process of transferring files to my new computer was handled very well by Geek Squad and the Agents who assisted me with orientation and optimization of a new OS X environment really helped make the transition a success. I'm really pleased with the capability of my 27-inch iMac w/Retina Display from Best Buy.

Great job! I thought that I had backed up my computer and was protected. But my backup external drive failed. Naturally, then my computer stopped working. I needed the tax information that was still in the computer. Geek Squad somehow got all the info that was on the hard drive!

At first, I was worried about bringing my computer to geek squad, but then I was greeted by Tristan. He is AMAZING at customer service. He's knowledge and friendly and walked me through the entire process of not only backing up my data from a malfunctioning motherboard to processing the repair.

As I am a Total Tech member, I used this service to transfer everything from my Pixel 2 XL to my new Pixel 4 XL. With Best Buy's expertise everything moved over easily. When I left the store I was completely up and running. Thank you, Best Buy Mobile.

Both Ben, who enrolled me in Geek Squad, and Ryan, who fixed my computer that got a virus, were pleasant and very knowledgeable. I was freaking out because I was so worried about what happened with my computer, but when I arrived at Best Buy, their friendliness and confidence in telling me they could help me was so comforting. They did what they had to do quickly and efficiently and I was so relieved.

After purchasing my phone. I had to go to the geek squad to transfer my contacts and pictures. He did it in a timely manner and with a smile. He also made recommendations about my phone. His advice was precise .

While it may seem simple that a backup of a hard drive will perhaps be a "mirror copy", that is not the case with the Geek Squad service. I brought a terabyte drive in which I had for the Squad to use for the back up of my system hard drive (as it had some serious errors and needed to be reformated with a windows reinstallation). The service was complete, in that everything was copied. But the files are put all over the place on the new drive. Multiple document areas (default, owner, administrator, all users, my documents, etc....) and there are pieces of my copied drive all over the place. Not a simple thing to click to that drive to find even the main "my documents" file folder that references my items - it is 4 levels deep on the drive. This could be done more simply - or at least, I would hope that the associate would take some time to explain how/why they did it the way they did when I picked it up (not provided any explanation). But they did copy the drive, which is what I needed at the time, so for that I am thankful for the service.

Once the store opened up for limited access I was able to get my laptop in for some much needed work. I was able to make my appointment time online which was very nice. Once I arrived with said appt I was able to get to the Geek Squad with no delay. They provided more info than I really wanted - just their usual. I was able to track the status of my machine online; again, very convenient. I got a personal call when my machine was ready. Only difficult part was the pick up - more people aware of the store opening so had to wait to get in the store and then wait for someone to be available but on me since it was around late lunch time. The person that helped me apologized for the wait but did not have to - just the current times we live in. I have bought every machine from Best Buy for the last 15 years and I have never had any regrets.
