I asked for my old dead computer to have its hard drive copied over to a new one that I was purchasing from Best Buy. They did it super-fast, and I had my new computer---and all my old files---operational in no time at all. Gave it back to me faster than expected!

Great and timely backup of info on my old laptop!!

group @ the Tallahassee, FL store are a fantastic group! when bought new computer they transferred data so fast that I was almost home on the same day when got a call that everything was ready. they have always treated me with respect & fixed any issue I brought to them.

This was part of replacing my hard drive. My hard drive was failing. Took my computer to a Best Buy and the Geek Squad replaced it and transferred my data from my old drive to my new one. It was done and ready before their projected completion time. Works great!

Purchased a new HP Envy and needed everything transferred from my old, and I might add crashed, laptop. Its like they stayed overnight to get this done! All my information was moved, plus they took the time to fire up the HP and go thru the basics for me. Very professional.

I had the Geek Squad transfer the data from my old PC to a new one. They got it all, including all of my pictures. But they went above and beynd when I asked if they would tranfer my iTunes account. I knew I would have trouble with that on my own. He did it, no problem.

They successfully transferred all my data and settings from my old Mac to my new Mac.

When I picked up my computer, I had an easy backup installed. When I asked what I had to do to get it to back up. I was told to just plug it in. Obviously not the correct answer. Now I have to make an appt to have someone teach me how to use it. Very disappointed. I have used Geek Squad since it conception. I have recommended it to friends. I have always used the Best Buy in Aventura, Florida. I am now in DeLand , Florida and am totally disappointed in the attitude and work ethics of the Daytona Beach Geek Squad. I would not recommend them.

had to have geek squad transfer my info because incas trading in my old laptop. i could not transfer at the store because their wifi is terrible

I used the Geek Squad to transfer my data from my old computer to my new computer. They also did some set-up/install for the new computer. The service was fast ( 2 days). They took time to answer questions that I had and they had the knowledge to give good explanations.

It appears that everything was backed up properly. The back up was from a older computer that I couldn’t get to backup on my own. Service took two days if that. No complaints with the data transfer service.

This review covers the SECOND time I brought my new HP Pavilion X360 in for setup and configuration. In short, the FIRST time I brought it in, the job was done incorrectly and was incomplete. I had to return it to the Geek Squad desk again. The young man I met with the second time--I remember he was wearing a Sheriff's Office Auxiliary badge on his belt-- listened to my problem(s) with the laptop and proceeded to fix it ON THE SPOT. I thought I was going to have to leave it at the store again, but he was able to figure out the problems and correct the deficiencies in about 40 minutes. I was impressed with his analytical capabilities and very happy that I didn't have to leave the laptop at the store again. The computer is working fine now. Although I was not happy that I had to bring the computer back a second time, the knowledgable professionalism of the second Geek Squad kind of offset the annoyance brought on by the first.

I haven't paid extra to have the Geek Squad come to my house, but this was the next best thing. They did the data transfer from my old PC--which wouldn't even boot up--to a new PC that I bought from Best Buy.

My old laptop died without notice so I needed to purchase a new one. I was worried I had lost everything, but the Geek Squad told me they could retrieve all of my data from the hard drive of the old one and put it on my new one. It was a life saver!! They were great.

The agents transferred my critical data and got the computer back to me very quickly.

I use this laptop primarily for research, writing and editing, sometimes for watching videos, and never for gaming (nothing to do with the laptop, just not my thing). This is a great replacement for my last hp laptop; it has a crisp screen display and decent sound (you might want to amplify it with speakers for the complete movie experience) that's good for news clips, some TV shows, etc. I am THRILLED to be rid of Windows 8. W10 works much better. Good, solid, clicking keyboard with raised keys; great for writers. One small drawback might be for bigger hands than mine; because the reach from the lip of the laptop to the spacebar is about 4.5 inches, users who rest their wrists there will find that the cursor might jump due to the heat from their wrists or lower hands. Smaller hands will hover above this area, so it's not as much of a problem, but it's something to be aware of. I'm very happy with this purchase.

My laptop suddenly dead and needed to pull out my important data from the HDD.I was not comfortable to pull out the HDD by myself but Geek Squad could recover all the data from my old HDD and that was life saving!
