We purchased a new laptop from Best Buy and we took our old laptop in to have information transferred. They did that for us, and checked over our old computer and updated it. It was done when promised.

I backup my pics and documents frequently, but never know what I've added since my last backup. Good to have it done. Not convenient though to have to search through a separate backup folder to find all my frequently used documents.

They were able to save my music and my photos and my documents so I was up and running as soon as I brought my new laptop home. The old one could not be turned on by me because the connection to the power was broken. They had to access the hard drive by opening the laptop.

My older computer crashed and my personal computer tech said that my data was lost. I took the old computer to the Geek Squad and within 24 hours they were able to recover all of my old data and documents files. What a relief. Thank you Geek Squad. John

Had the Geek Squad transfer files from my old laptop to my new one. The screen on the old one was no longer working. Very professional.

My computer screen went blank. I had stuff on my desktop and hard drive, I had not backup. These guy were able to find it, recover it, format it and save it for me on an external drive.

I had a old hard drive with precious memories on it and they were to get them off the drive such a great purchase.

Best buy was able to get all data transferred from my crashed computer to my new computer...great news!!Currently in process of creating family tree and had over 5 generations of family history on my old computer...not even 1 keystroke of work was lost..outstanding job!!

Unfortunately I didn't for go with this process for it was a brand new computer everything had been saved on a external but I am sure they can assist greatly with this process. For I had this done on some personal computers years ago.

My computer was hacked and unbootable. They were able to save my files onto my external hard drive before reinstalling the operating system. This of course wiped all my files. They had to work on it twice because when I went to pick it up the first time, it would not boot. Later they discovered they had connected my computer to some faulty equipment that they were using. At pick up they helped me get all my programs reinstalled and working - and also copied all my files back onto my hard drive. They were unable to help me reinstall my Acrobat Standard XI due to a repetitive error message. They looked up what to do about the error msg but nothing worked. Several times. I need that program but don't want to have to pay adobe to get the problem resolved, and am leery of buying another copy of the program because it that does not work either, I am out the purchase price of software that I can't install.

I had the occasion to use the Geek Squad yesterday and was thoroughly impressed with the knowledge of the agents. It was awesome to see them at work on my screen. They were completely able to solve the problem that I was having and I would highly recommend them!

i would have been a lot happier if they noticed i already had this backup service done a year prior, which i noticed after-the-fact in my own records! however, it was perfectly done. deducted 1 star for duplicate work not needed.

Our Mac external drive failed. Best Buy copied all the data over to a new drive (faster & more capacity) and everything is good now. I was concerned about Mac compatibility, but Best Buy showed me a drive to use and handled the recovery faster than they had promised.

This unit was very accommodating as we had a problem with the first computer we took home. They went out of their way to insure that the computer was operating before giving it back to us. All of the data was successfully transferred from our old tower to the new laptop.

The persons I interacted with were Highly professional and knew their stuff. They talked and walked me through the new Lenovo product and gave very sound advice on other products to purchase for my new lap top. Thank You for many years of enjoyment with my new purchase.

I purchased an external drive and they copied everything to it Picked the drive up a day later. Now I can transfer files I actually want and leave any thing I doubt I'll ever use on the drive. Eventually I format the drive and just use it for back up and storage.

Technician put all my old files on my new computer, nothing missing. Great service and done within a reasonable amount of time. Recommended both the computer and back up to a friend and she bought the same computer and her two laptop files put on her new computer.

Of course, when the data is transferred not everything makes it (e.g. outlook contacts). I understand the popular software has this same issue. My email did not work with Windows 11 Outlook. Geek squad kept working online with my computer until the issue was resolved -2.5 hrs and 2 reps. I am happy. Geek Squad membership may not be the worlds best bargain but I am going to keep it up.

The process was great once completed, but we were a little disappointed in the turn-around time. We expected our computer back within a least a week, but we waited over two weeks; however, the IT Tech was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Had a great experience with the Geek Squad (specifically Porche at the Sacramento location) getting my old computer backed up. She explained everything very well and walked me through the process. Would definitely recommend going to the experts for this service!
