Geek squad in home service

Don't use them

initial data transfer that wasn’t completed result

Poor customer management after missed appointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I scheduled this Geek Squad Home visit on 18 Jun to set up and transfer a new iMac computer that I purchased at Best Buy. The Geek Squad Agent could not make the 1 July appointment. When I checked with the Best Buy American Fork, UT store I was told that it would be into August before they could offer me another appointment. The manager was rude and unwilling to consider my position. I finally cancelled the entire appointment. Very poor customer management.

Still waiting for installation

I was told the device would be delivered and installed when it arrivedby 2 Jul 19. After two weeks without any communication, I went back to the store and they told me I had to pick up the item and I had to contact the Geek Squad via phone even though I made arrangements through the store Geek Squad representative. I did that 12 Jul 19 and an arrangement was presumably made for a home installation in August because, by that time I would be unavailable 26 Jul--the only date open. I believe a date has been set 2 Aug 19 although I have heard nothing since. I have not had an email confirmation. I cannot evaluate their work as none has been done.

HORRIBLE!!! Geek Squad lost 20 years of my files!

I paid the extra fee for the year of tech support in order for them to put it all on my new PC I was sold by Best Buy. When I went in to pick everything up we sat down at my lap top to be sure all was well and it Blue Screened! One would think... At least I had all my files on the USB stick but their employee grabbed it out of my lap top while I was using it and with out ejecting. Something happened and it was obviously their carelessness that has caused me to lose ALL my files I have ever had. How do you repay someone who purchases a new computer and tech support and they lost everything??? EVERYTHING!!!

transfer data to new computer

I previously had Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer browsers. I now have Edge. None of the information from Firefox and Chrome was transferred; a lot of bookmarks and favorites did not transfer over from Internet Explorer. Several Word Perfect documents did not transfer over to Edge either. Fortunately, my yahoo mail was transferred. Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers were not downloaded to the new computer.

Service was attempted not completed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Geek squad set up a transfer and left after 20 minutes.....after waiting 6 days I aborted the transfer all of my newly purchased software had been deleted off the new computer and none of the documents, photos, or music was transferred. GEEK SQUAD bailed on me and said take out to a store and they will fix. Next appointment available is next Monday. I paid $50.00 for in-home service so I could wait two weeks to go back to store. Wonder how long I will be with out a computer this time. $3200 in purchases and can't even use a brand new computer!

It sucked

I got scolded for returning a shopping cart to store entrance instead of leaving it in parking lot. Your employee John hollered as I walked away to leave the cart next time outside the store instead of in the breezeway. Not thank you for returning the cart. I won't. I will not return. Geek Squad service was EXCELLENT.

No transfer of Data

The Agent used my old Scan Disk & tried to put my photos on it but that didn't work. It only transferred the photos that were already on it & they couldn't be seen on new computer. You should put that $49. back onto my credit card!!!!

I should have got a replacement when I had asked. I need help! I do have some Computer tech classes years ago and a computer that won't shut off sometimes means a potential fire, etc,
