Recommend Best Buy for good service and timely outcome.

I bought this laptop because my other one crashed and died on 11/8. I was in a rush & decided to shop reviews online at a minimum. This HP laptop is OK. Still trying to get used to Windows 10, One Note, etc. I do not use Outlook.

If you want to back up old software programs, forget about it. I was lead to believe this would be possible. Data that was associated with the old software will not work. Also, the old software cannot be installed on the new backup drive.

Hard drive backed up then wiped several times to solve a problem that was mis-identified at least three times. Back-ups lost some valuable pictures which has been very upsetting! The problem was computer being unable to boot up. 3 different diagnoses were wrong, which led to unnecessary back-ups and wiping of hard drive. The last effort finally id'd the problem as a simple malfunction of the power-bar and power cord. Replacing both provided appropriate power and immediately solved the problem. computer works fine - data still lost. Also this request for a review is arriving months after the repairs - not very timely,,,just saying!

the automated phone system stinks. the people don't communicate with other workers and I wasted time and energy trying do do stuff. The computers are not working since I got them back and I don't have the time or gas money to bring them in again. Not sure I trust them to fix it anyway. Not everyone has the money to have all the devices that you seem to think everyone has. You had my computer and the auto phone tells me to go on line to schedule a pick up. I do not have another device to go on line with.

They made a few errors but when I pointed them out to them they fixed them as soon as possible, so I recommend to inspect your item very carefully before leaving the store.

Service was a little slower than I felt it should have been and communication was weak. The hard drive works well and they got most of my files out.

My hard drive was apparently too far gone to do any good. Even tried the extended version, but no luck.

Took my new lap top to have data and other files transferred from my old lap top. I had to wait almost a week to have the work done. Got it home only to find that only the short cuts had been moved to the new lap top AND saved to the new back-up drive I was required to purchase as part of the work. No documents, downloads, pictures, music etc had actually been transferred. Fortunately the "mule" used by the Geek Squad still had my information and I eventually was able to get my info.

helpful, great prompt service, but did not refund me for a service that was payed for but could not be executed because device was a Mac

Can't say since I have not used it. It was purchased as a backup of data on my laptop before it went to the manufacturer for repair.

My machine was as dumb as a new unit. Having to set up the profiles and office was a continuing pain! Data does appear to be all there.

I was really relieved to know that the geek squad was able to retrieve and back up my files after my computer refused to power on.

The attempted recovery of my backup hard drive took over three webeks of coming in and out of the store. However they did finally succeed

Unfortunately they were unable to recover any data from my external hard drive. Major bummer! But they were very nice about it!

having lots of trouble with our macs so geek staff suggested this so they could fix our computers which they did not

Product was not explained to me. Seems like everyone assumes we(dummies) know all about computers

IT person gr8 job, but would not speak to me, would only send reps who could not answer my questions

GAVE GREAT SERVICE . FRIENDLY SERVICE. Young man that waited on us was polite and knew what he was doing.
